After a shit ton of yelling and screeching, silence fell over the bleachers. The students watched as Royal and I alternated in choosing between the boys. There were a few ooh's and aah's followed by observant whispers. I guess it made it interesting.
But not when people started to assume that I had some kind of beef with every guy I didn't choose.
People nowadays.
Judging by everyone's reactions, not choosing my brother automatically made us family friends. As if that would ever happen. Seth seemed to notice and jokingly yelled "Ay, was I sleeping when you guys cut him from the family bloodline?" Fucking classic.
The students eventually calmed down and embraced the reality of the football team.
No drama.
Meanwhile, Carter and I had to wave River back to the centre of the field one too many times. His excited side was really shining through tonight. Can't blame the kid. We're surrounded by bouncy castles and foam machines. This was his heaven.
