♤CHAPTER ONE

It has been a whole year since Addi had moved out of her parents' house and gotten a nice apartment in California. She had also gotten a decent job as a receptionist at a luxurious five star hotel.

Her father who had given her the one week time-line to move out of the house had only told her in hopes that she would eventually come to her senses and apologise to him.

He clearly underestimated the strength of his bloodline flowing through her and also the size of her ego and as his daughter, that was something she also inherited from him.

Addi had moved out with only 1 large suitcase and her birthday gifts which consisted of her iphone XR, two emoji pillows, two large feather pillows and and a blanket.

She only had eight hundred dollars ($800) on her account when she left home. She took the train to the next state because she just couldn't afford a bus drive much less a plane.

She had rode the train for 6 hours before she got off at the train station in Cali. Addi was lost to say the least and extremely lonely but she learnt a whole lot in a year.

To say she got coincidentally lucky was an understatement. While Addanna stood at a hotdog vendor's cart at the train station she heard a woman complaining about a apartment the woman went to rent 3 days ago and how 'she thought it was a two bedroom studio flat but it was just a simple small space and no wonder it was renting for eighty dollars ($80) per month.'

Addanna quickly sprung towards the woman and tapped on her shoulders to get her attention. When the woman turned to look at Addanna somewhat breathless due to her being so unfit, she gave her a sad smile.

"What's the matter love?" The older woman asked. Addanna quickly caught onto her thick Austrailian accent.

"Sorry mam, I was over-hearing you speak about an apartment? You see I am homeless right now and I think that it could be better than anything for me right now" Addi panted, because she didn't waste anytime explaining everything in one breath as if by some terrible misfortune the older woman woulf just vanish in thin air.

She stared at the lady hoping that she would see the desperation in her eyes and be kind enough to assist her.

"Oh you poor thing, well it's right near the main on Macburn street not too far from the station love" She told Addi in a somewhat motherly voice. This time when she spoke she sounded much more American than Austrailian to the point where Addanna thought she might've imagined it.

When she went to the address given to her she somehow managed to get the apartment to rent and ask the owner for an area map so she could get around as she was new to the area.

She turned the entire place into a little cozy haven overtime as she slowly bought her furnitures and appliances with decorations that suited her and her personality.

Addanna was finally independent as she had two jobs which supported her more than enough, she got two days off and ahe had been saving up so she could be able to some day accomplish more than she already had.

She was so proud that she was able to do all these small things for her self but after great thought she realised that she was still as reserved as she was back at home and she barely had much associates much less friends. It was even a too far stretch to consider her co-workers as associates.

"Miss Moncrieffe? There is going to be a staff party for christmas celebrations and we are hoping that you would come out and enjoy the night with all of us" one of her co-worker at the hotel asked her. It seemed everyone was a bit worried for her as she doesn't really talk nor hang out and is never in a rush to get home or take holidays off which might have hinted to the whole staff that she was a lonely little loner.

"Ummm.....I am not quite sure yet, I will have to see that I don't have any other plans" Addanna bit down on her lip as she tried to lie. She knew there were no other plans because there were no friends, family, boyfriend, neighbour or even a damn pet!

But it seemed as someone saw righ through her lie and wasted no time in attacking her. "You liar!! You know we are the closest things here to a family you have. I mean you have no emergency contact and you never take holidays off or complain about work hours. Face it, you have no life outside of work so stop being a stuck up and just come have fun for a change." Justin spoke up a little too harsely.

But he was right. He was so right that it irritated Addanna to her very core. She fought with her parents and not just moved out of their house but moved out of the entire state, only to continue living the same lifestyle that her parents offered.

She was just frustrated and Justin was right, she needed to interact and put herself out there and get to know new people and make friends and try to start a life and a family of her own.

Her family basically cut her off after her decision to actually leave slapped them in the face. It's been a whole year since she haven't seen nor heard from her parents. They never sent a post card or rung her up neither do they check in to see if she is doing ok or not.

She expected that from her father being that he was a petty man but she most definately did not expect that from her mother. She didn't exactly have a close relationship with her mother but they were pretty decent towards each other.

She had always been a daddy's girl so she knew what her father's reaction would be but her mom was always so caring and trying her hardest to be involved and included that she just couldn't believe that she hasn't even made a call by accident to check up on her.

But then something just clicked in her head and for the first time she used a curse word to describe what she was feeling at the moment.

"Fuck this! Fuck everything! Ammo just do me. So yeah am coming Cia"

She finally said in the presence of Cia and Justin who were not so sure that their persuation was going to work in the first place but was in quite a shock at Addanna's outburst that they weren't sure if she was the same person they knew for almost a year now.

Okaiiiii guysssss so what do you think?????

I mean personally I didn't quite like the 1st chapter because it's my 1st time attempting to do a narrative instead of point of veiws (P.O.Vs).

But don't worry guys I promise next chapter will be point of veiws and more detailed so that you guys can get familiar with the characters and such and such. But please understand that this girl is a loner so she haven't had much interactions as yet.
