Prologue

"Miss Briana!" A group of teenagers called me, I smiled at them.

They looked at each other and after that, they scream. "Oh my gosh! I'm a fan of your stories!" One girl said. I can see her happiness through her eyes.

"Oh really? thank you so much, sweetheart!" I gave her a sweet smile.

"Can we take a picture?" They asked, their eyes were hopeful. I gave them a sweet smile again before I nodded.

They started to go beside me and some of them are in front of me. I put my hands on their shoulders to make them comfortable, I wanna be close with my readers or supporters, I mean, my family. Without them, I wouldn't be here.

"Smile!" The Photographer said before clicking the camera.

I smiled genuinely, feeling thankful for having this family, and feeling proud of everything I have achieved.

"Thank you so much, Miss!" They said.

"I should be the one to be thankful here, thank you for supporting me! You guys are a blessing to me!"

They pouted their lips and I saw how their eyes sparkled—tears of joy, I guess.

My cellphone rang, I saw my best friend calling. I guess she's finding me now because I'm gonna be late for my flight.

I didn't answer the call. "I'm sorry, I think I should go now. I have a flight this afternoon."

"No. It's okay, Miss. Have a safe flight!" They said. I pouted my lips, realizing how lucky I am to have them.

"Goodbye! See you around!" I said to them, waving my hand. "I'll treat you all next time if we ever meet again!" I added while smiling. I'm beyond thankful.

"OMG! I hope we can see you again!" They said in chorus. I smiled, how precious. The fact that they still support me and my stories, even though I killed their favorite character. Well, they understand that. Because that's how the plot goes on.

"I will see you all again!" They nodded excitedly.

"Bye!" They waved their hands with a smile on their lips.

I waved again before turning my back at them. My phone rang again, it's my best friend again.

"Where are you?! You're gonna be late!" She shouted, I immediately take away my phone from my ears.

"I'm here, calm down," I said. I went out to the mall and I saw her car, she will send me to the Airport.

I opened the door of her car and the first thing I saw was her mad eyes.

"You said you're just gonna buy food? Where's the food?" She raised an eyebrow.

I playfully rolled my eyes at her, ignoring what she asked.

"Let's go." She just looked at me and sighed.

"Sab," I called her. She maneuvered the car first before answering me.

"Why?" She asked.

"Why am I single?" She giggled.

"You said you don't want to have a husband nor boyfriend." She's right. But right now that I already achieved my dreams, I feel like I want a boyfriend.

"How 'bout you? Do you think he will be your husband? If yes, how does it feel?" I asked her even I already know the answer, she said his boyfriend asked her if they want to marry soon.

"You knew the answer, but how does it feel? I don't know what's the exact word but you know, I feel like I am at peace and genuinely happy. Even we are facing problems, we're still happy because we have each other." I'm so happy for my best friend, even they didn't end up in high school but look at them now, they seem happy and contented with each other.

"I'm so happy for you two, didn't expect you will be together again."

"Well I guess, we are meant to be." She winked before laughing. We both laugh, I still remember how immature we are when we went into a relationship.

"I remember how immature we were back in high school." I laughed again.

"Yeah, I also remember you cried in class and you said you were tired of your relationship." I suddenly remember that time, I was in my 10th grade when I cried over a guy because I felt tired in our relationship. I laughed so hard when I remember that.

"How immature!" I said.

"Anyway," She said, changing the topic.

"Do... you still remember him?" She asked slowly. Him? Of course. I still do.

"What about him?" I asked.

"It's been..." She started to think about how many years had passed when we saw each other.

"16 years," Her eyes widened a bit.

"Briana," She called me, she sounded serious.

"Do you still love him?"

16 years had passed, do I still love him?

I never thought about that before, I was always busy chasing my dreams. My heart is beating so fast and I don't know what to feel. I keep saying no, but I guess my heart wasn't saying the same thing.

"It's been 16 years, I guess the answer to your question is no." She's now looking at me intensely.

"What?" I asked, curious about the way she looked at me.

"Shut up, you're lying. You still love him, don't you?" I sighed. She knows me well.

"Is that even possible? look I know it's possible but it's been 16 freaking years, why my heart still wants him?"

"You're deeply in love with him." She just said, and then smiled sadly.

Now I wonder, how is he? Did he achieve his dreams? I guess he did, he was the best for me.

Where have you been, My love?

I don't want to think about him so I closed my eyes and let myself sleep for an hour.

"Briana, we're here. You'll be late if you won't wake up right now." I heard a familiar voice. It was Sabrina.

"You sure can travel alone? I'm so sorry I can't be with you, my schedule isn't cooperating."

"It's okay, I understand. I also wanna be alone and think about what should I do with my life." I smiled at her.

She smiled and hugged me. "Just call me if you need help," then she kissed me on my cheek.

I also kissed her. "Don't stress yourself, have fun with your boyfriend." She smirked before laughing out loud.

"Wild, huh." I laughed with her too, she's so different—wild when she's with her boyfriend.

It's cuddle weather, find a boyfriend now." She joked, I just giggle at what she said.

"I'm going now, take care! I love you!" I waved my hand before I took my luggage.

"Bye! I love you too! I hope you find a boyfriend!" She chuckled, waving her hand.

I just giggled and waved my hand again before turning my back at her.

***

I saw different buildings, I was amazed at everything I'm seeing now.

Everything is beautiful until I found out I was lost, I am looking for a hotel but right now all I can see are buildings.

I took my phone inside my bag, trying to research but damn! My phone doesn't have a charge.

"F*ck! Why now?" I cursed.

What will I do with my life right now?

I'm fixing my hair but suddenly my bracelet fell, I bent my knees to get my bracelet.

"D*mn, why did you fell? You're expensive, you shouldn't fell." I whispered, talking to my bracelet.

Yeah, I should have told that to myself. I'm expensive and I shouldn't fall for someone.

"It's alright, it was just an accident," I whispered to my bracelet again.

Because I guess it was just an accident too when I fall for him.

No, I guess it wasn't an accident. I decided to stand up but I saw a familiar man. It's... him.

He looked so professional and mature right now, he was wearing formal attire. His face is still the same but he's more manly right now. His eyes were still beautiful, his brows and lashes are still thick and his lips look more delicious— what the fuck did I just say, I mean his lips are more pinkish than before. I looked at the well-defined jawline that made him more manly and mature.

He wasn't this broad back then but right now, his body is— I don't know, he's just freaking hot! Why am I praising him?

He was looking for something but he stopped when his eyes went mine.

His lips formed a smile but it's formal. Damn, how can he be this attractive?

"Briana," His baritone voice gave me goosebumps.

"Yeah—uh, hi." I smiled.

"You look good, I mean you look so professional." He smirked and looked at me from head to toe.

"You look good, too." He said in a husky voice.

"You're a CPA Lawyer now," He announced, I just nodded.

"Hmm... Yeah." I wanna ask him if what profession he pursued but I can't right now.

"I have read your stories, one of them is about us." I was shocked, I never imagined him reading stories.

"You read stories?" I can't hide the shock in my voice. He slowly nodded.

"Mhm," I nodded. "but it's kinda different," I added.

"Have you finished it?" I slightly raised an eyebrow. He shook his head. Hmm, that's why.

"What's the difference, then?"

"Our story that I have written... was a happy ending." I smiled genuinely but I felt something, I felt pain.

He wasn't looked affected but he stayed silent. How... how could you leave me without an explanation?

"I didn't expect that I would see you here, after 16 years... I'm glad to see you," I told him. He smiled a bit yet not saying anything.

"I'm sorry but I need to go, I'm really glad that... I met you here, after all these years." I smiled sweetly before turning my back at him.

Maybe this time, I can fully move on. Now that I saw him successful, I am relieved.

I'm so proud of us, we're now successful. This is the future we had been talked to.

"After 16 years, we finally met," I whispered. I thought the pain finally left me, but not until I met him. And this is me again, hoping we can be together... again.

Was it possible that... I still love him? It's been 16 years... Why does it still hurt?
