Move

"H-Hi," I answered back, nervous and stuttering.

"Would you mind if we sit here? We can't find a place where we can eat." He said, looking serious. His friend was standing beside him, looking at us silently.

"Of course, you two can sit here," I said, smiling a bit.

"Thanks." He said they both sat on vacant seats.

"Is he a transferee?" I asked him, he's preparing his food but he stopped when he heard me asking.

"He wasn't, he has been here since grade school." He said, pointing at his friend.

"Oh, I've never met you before," I said to his friend. "I have seen you before but it was just a glimpse, I guess. Now I know why you looked familiar." He said then smiled.

"How 'bout you?" I asked Travis. "I'm not a transferee, I've been here since grade 7." He wasn't a transferee but I never met him when I was in my 7th grade.

"Oh, okay."

"Anyway, this is Sabrina. My best friend." I introduced Sabrina to them.

"Hi, I'm Marcus." Travis's friend said.

"Hi, I'm Travis." He smiled, his dimple showed up.

"Sabrina," She said then smiled. She's not really friendly when it comes to guys. But if it's her crush she's so friendly. She's different.

Sabrina took her phone, swiping on her photos. "Guys, did you know him?" She asked the boys, I told you, she's really something when it comes to the boy she likes. Well, If I were in her shoes I will do that too.

"Oh, he's Levi Cohen. I do know him." Marcus said.

Her eyes widened a bit. "Oh, Levi Cohen..." She whispered.

"Why?" Marcus asked, getting curious.

"Hmm, I kinda want him." My mouth really formed an 'o' when I heard her being honest about the guy she likes.

"I can give his number to you if you want." Travis grinned. What about me? Can you give me your number? I laughed at my thought, I'm being silly again.

Her eyes widened again, I can see her happiness through her eyes. I wish we won't fall in love at a young age because Mom said it was a trap, especially for us, who are teenagers.

"Really?" She asked, still shocked.

"Yeah, why not? You said you liked him. I'll give you his socials too." He said with a smile on his lips. He started to take his phone and scroll on his phone afterward.

"There," He gave his cellphone to Sab. She took Travis's phone. She searched for her crush on social media. "He's too private, huh," Sab commented while scrolling.

"Why do handsome guys are so private?"

"We just wanted to be lowkey." He winked, giggling.

"You nailed it, bro," Marcus said. They are full of themselves, huh. Well, they're both handsome. Marcus has a soft feature while Travis looked more mature. Marcus seems introvert, the way he acts. But I'm not really sure, though. We just met earlier. Travis looked more friendly, I guess.

"Briana, can I get your number?" I was shocked so I stopped eating. I felt my heartbeat was throbbing so fast.

"W-what, I mean yes." He offered his phone then I took it. My hands were really shaking when I'm typing my number on his phone. "T-There..." I turned back his phone, his eyes went mine then he smiled, showing his perfect teeth.

Because of what happened I was really out of my mind, I don't know what happened the whole afternoon and it is already dismissal. I just think about him when he asked for my number. My heart is really... ugh never mind. I'm gonna tell this to my mom!

We're on our way to my house. "Sab! Did he just get my number?!" My soft heart was really happy. I'm not familiar with this feeling, he's the one who makes me feel like this. He's my first crush in my high school life, though I had crushes when I was still in grade school, He's really different from everyone I liked. I'm gonna be honest, I get attached too easily, and my mom and Sabrina are aware of that.

"Yes, girl. He did! But always remember what your Mom said to us. "Love is a trap." We both said. "Remember that, too." She chuckled while nodding. "He's just a crush. hun. Remind yourself because we knew that you get attached easily." She uttered. I just nodded, agreeing with her.

"Let's ask mom what love really feels," I uttered and took her hand to get in the house.

"Yeah, we should."

"Mom! we're here!" I said excitedly.

"I'm here in the kitchen, preparing some foods! Come over here!" She fired back.

We went into the kitchen and we saw mom. She welcomed us with warm hugs and sweet smiles on her lips. "You two are going to ask me about love, huh?"

"Yes, mom!" I looked at Sabrina, I saw how excited she is. Was 'Love' has a deep meaning to make us interested in Love?

"Okay, then. What are your questions, sweethearts?"

"Mom, what do you mean by 'Love is a trap?'" I asked her. She just let out a sigh. "You two are growing, huh."

"My, we are supposed to, you said that to us when we're in 7th grade," Sabrina said. Mom looked at us with her teary-eyed. Feeling proud of us.

"When they say 'Love', some people said love brings us happiness and peace. They were correct, but Love is not just about happiness and peace, it is all about pain. Love is not always happy, most people suffer from pain and it is because of the love they had for a person.

"Because of what? why are they suffering from pain?" Sab asked.

"Maybe because their partner cheated on them, some of them were left behind, someone fell out of love while the other one still loves his/her partner and maybe because the love they had was forbidden."

"But what was the reason, why did they let that happen?" I asked, getting more curious.

"They have their own reasons, and there are some things you cannot control. If it's gonna happen, it will." Mom explained.

"How about the pain? what will happen if we experience pain?"

"Maybe you are about to learn and grow."
