Chapter 4

Will's POV

Ever felt like you're in a room with the walls closing in on you ever so slowly knowing you had nowhere to escape? That was exactly how I felt now.

Several minutes after I settled, and the teacher started the class, everyone still had their eyes on me.

What was so intriguing about me?

I just sighed mentally and sank further into my seat -if that was even possible- paying attention to the teacher who was either blind or oblivious to the fact that the others weren't listening to him. I reckoned it's the latter.

Eventually, everyone stopped looking at me to continue with whatever it was they were doing, but they weren't paying the teacher any heed still.

Like seriously, y'all retards are here to learn!

I know I hated school and all, but I couldn't just throw away the money my parents spent on my education.

I did a mental eye roll and focused back on the class, taking notes every now and then.

The ball rang at some point in time, and everyone practically ran out of the classroom. You'd think someone was sharing big fat wads outside with the way they stormed out.

I stood and packed my books heading for the door.

"Hey! William's right?" The teacher asked calling me back before I could exit the classroom. He had a smile on his face but it didn't actually meet his eyes. He was almost as tall as me, but his physique was incomparable to mine. He looked like he was in his early 40's. He had slightly black hair which looked like it was about to be overthrown by an army of white stands. He had creases on his forehead, and if you looked closely enough, you'd see the tiny bags under his eyes. Nonetheless, he still managed to pull some good looks.

"Yes Sir." I said walking up to him.

"Oh, no need for the formalities. Just call me Dave." He said waving his hands at me, smiling.

"Okay si- Mr. Dave." I said still reluctant at just calling my teacher by his name.

"You seem like a good kid. I hope you'll focus on your education, Will. Unlike your other mates." He said sighing.

Oh. He noticed.

The others probably did this often enough to Mr. Dave just give up.

"I will." I said smiling at him and turning to leave.

"And if you need anything, feel free to come to me." He added. I nodded giving him a smile and left.

I had other classes pretty much the same as the first. I tried to avoid Brandon as much as I could. Between classes, when I saw him walking down the hallway, I'd go into an empty classroom so he wouldn't see me. I know what I was doing was futile because he would eventually show me around the school.

It was now break. I walked into the cafeteria. It looked like your typical high school setting where the populars sat amongst themselves and blah blah blah.

I found an empty seat far away from everyone and sat down. I quickly scanned the room for Brandon, you know, just to make sure I'd spot him first and have a uh...heads-up. I didn't see him though. It was break, everyone's supposed to be here.

Wait what? Why do I even care?!

I mentally shook my head and reached into my bag, trying to bring out my food.

"OMG he's so hot! I'd literally do anything for him! I wonder why he isn't dating anyone yet. He could definitely use someone like me that can satisfy his desires."

"Oh puh-lease! He's way more into girls like me! Anywho, I heard he just hasn't found the right girl."

"Brandon's missing out that's for sure. Oh the sweet sweet things I'd do to him in bed... He'd grab my-"

Okay! Definitely don't wanna hear the rest!

I stopped listening in on the conversation between some perveted bimbos across the room.

Didn't they know people could her them?! Girls I tell ya!

I sighed and finally brought out my food, placing it on the table.

I went ahead to open it before a girl practically jumped right in the seat in front of me, making my heart skip two beats.

What the fuck was wrong with people?!

"Hi! I'm Grace." The girl said beaming at me before I could curse at her. She was black and about 5'5. She had black hair which curled at the ends. She was wearing a blue hooded crop top on top of loose wine coloured palazzo pants and a posh white nike sneakers. She had a diamond studded necklace around her neck, and beautiful silver earrings.

She was actually quite attractive. And filthy rich from the looks of it.

"Will." I said disinterestedly, picking up a sandwich and eating it.

I groaned contentedly. Mom would definitely win any cooking show.

"Ugh! Talk about the food in this place! Am I right?" Grace said with disgust making me jerk my head up at her, finally noticing the concoction in front of her.

Was she actually planning on eating that...thing?! It looked like a sickly green palpitating blob comprising the faeces of several animals expertly mixed together to form the eighth wonder of the world. Euckh!

Bless you, mom!

"I wouldn't know. I'm eating something else that's probably not going to send me to the ER anytime soon." I said still shivering, and mentally raining blessings on my mom.

Grace laughed and shifted death itself to the side.

"Can I have some?" She asked pointing at my food.

"Uh sure." I slid the food so that it was now at the centre of the table. Grace took out a sandwich and ate it. Her eyes went wide in an instant.

"OhvyGod! Vis is be vest hood awewa evhen." She practically screamed mouthful, bits and pieces of the sandwich flying every which way.

I thought rich girls had table etiquettes...

"Seriously?" I asked surprised. Don't get me wrong, I know my mom's cooking was superb but someone like her with all that money? Come on.

"Yeah! My parents work their asses way too much on business trips that they practically don't live at home. They didn't get maids for reasons unknown to me. So, I'm all alone with my brother. Neither of us knows how to cook, so we just order food." She said still relishing in the taste of the sandwich.

"Oh." I nodded, staring out the window, the sun casting warm rays on my face. I thought of how my life would be if my parents were like Grace's.

"Aww you're so cute, Will. Got a boyfriend?" Grace said out of the blue, making me almost choke on the orange juice I was now drinking.

What?! How did she know?!

"Oh don't worry, I'm not gonna spill. My brother's actually gay too. I've lived with him for so many years now, so I can definitely tell someone's gay when I see them."

I was relieved and scared at that. Scared because of the fact that she knew about my secret without even knowing me. Relieved because she had someone who was close to her and was gay.

She wouldn't try to ruin my life like Daniel almost did.

Hmm. Maybe things weren't going to be as bad as I thought. Maybe.
