Chapter 3

Will's POV

"...ill"

I felt something poking my shoulder. I squirmed in my bed hoping it would stop and go away.

"...illiams!"

The poking turned into an aggressive shake. Accompanying it was a shrill voice calling out something that rhymed with my name.

Shouting like this this early should definitely be illegal.

I jerked my head up begrudgingly from my pillow, and opened my eyes to be greeted by a frantic mom. What was up with her?

"Less staring, more action!" My mom said exasperatedly.

"Technically, staring is an action." I said to her giving her a look that said 'duh'. My mom rolled her eyes and stepped forward.

"Will, it's half past six! You're going to be late!" My mom shrieked.

Late? Late for what?

Shit. It's Monday. How did this happen? Why wasn't I woken up by my phone? Memories of yesterday came back. I was playing games with Freddy the other night all night and forgot to plug it in to charge before I slept.

Ugh! How could I forget something so important. By important, I meant charging my phone. I couldn't care less about school.

I sighed and stood up from my sweet sweet sanctuary.

"I'll be back soon, my love." I muttered and blew my bed a kiss. Sometimes, I just wished marrying a bed was legal, and considered normal. That way, I'd never leave my bed.

"Quit goofing around, Will. Clock's ticking." My mom said, rolling her eyes and pointing at the clock.

"You're still here?" I said to my mom dryly, giving her an irritated look. She rolled her eyes and turned, heading for the door before she turned back to me.

"Oh, I packed some food for you, seeing you're not going to eat before you leave for school. It's on the kitchen counter."

"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore! You don't have to do that!" I cried. How old did she think I was, five?

"I don't have to. I want to. Don't forget to take the food in your way out." She smirked at me and left my room, shutting the door gently.

I rolled my eyes at the door. Moms. Hmph.

I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I looked at my reflection on the mirror. I had slightly prominent bags under my eyes.

Ugh. I needed to get more sleep.

I debated whether or not I should take a shower, seeing as it probably was already past seven. I decided against it and just used roll-on. I went back into the room to change my clothes. I changed into an almost skinny black jeans, a red hoodie on top, and finished it off with black sneakers. I found a perfume spray lying around on the floor and sprayed it all over me. Hey, you can never be too careful. I picked my bag from the chair, putting my phone and earpiece in, and headed downstairs.

Mom wasn't in the kitchen. She must've probably gone back to bed. I grabbed the food from the counter and went out. The school wasn't far from home so I could still make it. My dad had driven us there the other day so I wouldn't get lost if he didn't drive me today because of work.

I huffed. The old man was probably still passed out on the bed.

I brought out my phone and earpiece to listen to some music. I saw Mrs Omar on my way, doing her early morning jog. I still hadn't forgotten about what did she to me and Freddy the other day. She saw me and smirked. I wished she'd just hit a tree. Somehow, my wish was granted because she tripped on a stick and fell face flat on the ground. I just laughed and carried on.

A few songs later, I arrived at the school.

Jensen-don High. I snorted. Stupid name.

"I had the same expression when I first saw it too." I nearly jumped a million feet in the air.

"You fuc-" I turned to curse at whoever scared the shit out of me, but stopped when I stared at the guy in front of me.

Man, was he attractive.

He was tall, just a little bit taller than me. He had fair unblemished skin. It was almost comical. This guy definitely exercised a lot because his muscles were prominent under the snug round top he had on. He had full brown hair which glowed under the sun. It looked really soft and silky. He had light green eyes with a hint of blue. Below those beautiful orbs, was full luscious pink lips guarded by dimples on either side.

Aww, I was a sucker for dimpled guys.

"I'm sorry. I didn't startle you, did I?" The guy asked me worriedly.

"Oh uh... No I uh I'm- it's okay." I blabbered out unintelligibly. Smooth, Will. Smooth.

"Okay. I'm Brandon." Brandon said coming closer, stretching out his hand.

"I'm Will." I said raising my hand to take his tentatively.

"Pretty soft hands you got there." He said smiling.

"Uh thanks." I blushed.

I'd shook many people, but not once did someone comment about the softness of my hands. When I didn't say anything, but just looked at the ground, Brandon shifted his weight on his legs and spoke up.

"Uh I have to go now. Nice meeting you, Will. I'll see you in school then?" He said already walking back.

"Uh yeah." He nodded at that and left giving me a wave.

I just stood there going over what just happened before I remembered something.

The meeting. Shit.

I bolted into the school brashly. Thankfully, no one was around or else someone would've called the cops to report a probably escaped convict. I found the office after what felt like decades and walk inside.

"Come sit, Will." A lady behind the desk said, typing on her laptop. She must be the principal. Wait, how did she know my name?

"Your dad and I have spoken." She said, as if reading my mind. She finally shut the laptop to look at me.

"I'm principal Ellen." She said after I had sat down.

"Uh hi." I said then tilted my head to look around the office. It looked pretty much the same as the one back at my previous school. I heard a 'ding' then looked up at the clock where the sound came from.

8:00. Shit. How? When? What?!

"I'm so so sorry I'm late. I was-"

"It's okay. This would certainly not be the first time." She said sighing.

Phew!

"Okay so, classes have already begun. I'm just going to quickly go over with you the necessary details then give you a pass for class." She said bringing out a book, and handing it over to me.

"That book contains all the things you need to know and follow. Normally, I would explain it myself but apparently, someone decided to show up late." She said smiling at me, half-heartedly.

I blushed and groaned mentally. I thought we were over that already!

"Go through the book. Your class schedules and other stuff are inside. Brandon will show you around the school later." She said signing on a slip of paper.

What? Brandon? That guy made me feel uneasy on the inside. No, it wasn't that feeling you get when your crush smiles at you. It was more of the one I got after I had woken up from that horrible nightmare the other night.

"Uh Brandon?" I asked just be sure I heard her right.

"Yes. Brandon. He mostly handles the school's social affairs. He's a sweetheart. Don't worry, you'll love him. Hey, he could be the first friend you'd make in this school." She said smiling, giving me the pass.

I shivered, remembering Daniel. Daniel was my 'friend' before he almost ruined my life. Who's to say Brandon wouldn't attempt the same thing?

"Okay." I said and stood up quickly heading for the door, not wanting to be here anymore.

"Don't forget to read the book." She called out before I shut the door.

I sighed and went on to find my first class. I found the classroom, and just stood at the entrance. Moments later, I opened it and walked in. Everyone stopped to look at me.

I swiftly gave the teacher the pass and moved to find an empty seat, painfully aware of the eyes that were practically raping me.

I found a seat and plopped down, praying for the day to be over quickly.
