Chapter 6

Brandon's POV

"Come at me." I told Will, smirking. I brought up the idea mostly because I wanted to take any chance at contact I could get with him. And also to know if he was as good a player as me. I doubted that though. Not to brag, but I was the best player in the school.

Will ran up to me and tried to pry the ball away from me. Either he was sick or he didn't know how to dribble- well, not everyone knew how to well. The latter was confirmed to be the case anyway when he tripped on the ball and pulled us both to the ground.

We fell with a loud thud, with me breaking his fall. It didn't actually hurt that much though. I had my daily-exercised muscles to thank for that.

We burst out laughing seconds after. Will was even more attractive when he laughed than when he blushed. Those perfect set of pearly white teeth gracing my eyes with its presence.

The sun was just setting. Somehow, one of the trees nearby funneled some rays and angled it perfectly on his face. His light brown eyes shimmered in the light, giving it this golden-like color that looked like it was straight out of a Twilight comic.

Before I could process my thoughts, I brought up my hand to his face. I pulled my head up from the ground, taking in the amazing sight that was Will, and proceeded to get rid of the space between us before Will suddenly tensed and jerked his body away from mine so quickly that he stumbled back when he stood.

"I-I'm sorry I ha-have to g-go now!" He stumbled out quickly and bolted away, not even giving me a chance to say anything. Well, that was good because I couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation.

Shit. What had I almost done?!

"Mom! Dad! I'm home." I called out as I entered the living room shutting the front door.

"It's just me honey! Your dad's probably running late again." My mom called out from the kitchen.

I walked over to the kitchen and perched on a stool, dropping my bag right next to me on the floor.

"How was your day dear?" My mom asked me placing a plate containing dinner on the counter for me to eat.

"It was terrible!" I cried out, shifting the food aside. I wasn't hungry in the slightest. Not after what happened with Will today.

God, I was so stupid! I was lost in the moment and tried to kiss Will. I didn't even know if he bat for the same team or not. He probably hate my guts now. If not anything, the terrified look on his face definitely gave that part away.

"Terrible? I thought you guys went on the competition today- and I'm pretty sure you won because you win every year." She said frowning as she rinsed the pan.

My school did this competition every year. We would compete against different school each year in activities ranging from science presentations to spelling bees to debates, sports, and the rest. We had another one today, and lest during break. It wasn't the competition that was thrilling per se, it was more of the amazing lounge we get to stay in to cool off after the competition.

Trust me when I say this, it had everything a teenager could possibly dream of.

"Yeah I know but things went downhill after that." I said sighing as I remembered the terrified expression Will had on his face before I almost kissed him.

"Oh. What happened honey?" She asked me worriedly, now sitting on a stool on the other side of the counter.

"Uh... I think I uh like a guy." I blushed, scratching the back of my neck.

"You do?! That's... Amazing! What's terrible about that! Oh my, I thought you'd forgotten how to feel...feelings!" She threw her hands in the air making me roll my eyes before she came at me again, "Who's the lucky guy? What does he look like? When can I meet him?" She gushed out, not even giving me a chance to speak.

I figured out I was gay when I was in elementary school, and had this insane crush on Luke, my classmate. I always wrote anonymous letters to him, professing my crush in poems- although, now that I look back on it, it was very very far from poetic words. I eventually came out to my parents sometime in the beginning of middle school. They accepted me without hesitation. They said they always knew I was gay, and were just waiting for me to come out to them. My mom even told me this crazy story that when I was born, the first word I uttered was 'gay'. Crazy. I know right?

"Mom, you don't understand. I-"

"Then make me boy! I'm dying in anticipation here!" She squealed like some teenage fan girl.

"I mean, I don't even know if he's gay. I kinda did something stupid at school. I almost kissed him before he bolted away from me like I was Freddy Kreuger." I said dropping my head on the counter, sighing miserably.

"Oh cheer up honey. He isn't straight." I jerked my head up to state at my mom incredulously.

How could she possibly know? She hadn't even met the guy.

"If he's straight, he would've definitely tried to hit you or make some kind of sick comment, and not just run away like he did." She said matter-of-factly.

"How would you know?"

"I'm your mother, duh! I know everything." She said flipping her hair smirking." I just rolled my eyes, giving her a slight glare.

"Just talk to him tomorrow, Brandon. I'm pretty sure he's not as straight as you think he is." She said getting up and winking at me.

"I'm going to head on to the room to wait for your dad. He loves a long night after working his ass at work." She said staring off into space reminiscing, seduction lacing her voice.

"Eww! Gross! Euckh! Mom, I definitely didn't need to know that!" I cried out trying to remove the mental image- or rather, video- of my parents doing...the thing. Mom just laughed and was heading out before turning to me.

"Oh and Make sure you eat up that food. If you waste it, you waste your university tuition."

"Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes. With that, she left.

I just sat there staring at my food.

"Do you think she's right? Do you think there's the slightest probability that Will is actually gay?" I asked the food.

Great. I was losing it.

I sighed and ate up. It was cold but delicious nonetheless.

Tomorrow, I was going to talk to Will.
