“Happy birthday beautiful.” I hear Kiernan’s voice in my ear as I open my eyes, smiling. 


“Thank you, gorgeous.” I say, looking at my world right in front of my eyes. “Already feels like a great birthday.” 


“Oh it’s just the beginning, birthday girl.” He teases. “I will leave you to get ready. Come downstairs, fast.” 


He kisses my forehead before leaving as I take my phone to see text messages from Lucy and Tobias. Thanking them for their birthday wishes, I decided to brush my teeth and take a shower. Then putting on a floral blue dress and doing my hair up in a messy bun, I half run downstairs. 


“Happy birthday, Thea.” All of them squeal together and walk over to me to give me a hug. 


“Come on, it’s cake cutting time.” My sisters squealed together pulling me towards the centre table where a chocolate fruit cake was waiting for me.
