Hours of Torture

Wednesday

I'm awoken to my mom telling me, "Wake up, get dressed, we're leaving soon." I sit up and stretch my arms and she rubs my back. It's like midnight, bruh.

"We're going to Hawaii today! Aren't you excited?" I smile and nod my head, getting up to take a shower. After the shower I go to get dressed with joggers and a hoodie. My mom makes me a quick breakfast sandwich to eat. I put my bags next to the door and double check if I almost left something. Everything seems to be here and I get my phone.

Today's the day, sweetheart.

I can't help but smile out of excitement, but I'm still mad at him for being more of an a****** than usual all week so I'm not going to answer.

"Okay, is everyone ready to go?" My mom asks me and my dad. We both nod our heads sleepily, while my mom hops around like a cheerleader who just drank 10 energy drinks. I almost fall asleep again but then I hear a beep outside. Must be an Uber, I'm guessing. I get my suitcase and walk outside to the large blue van. Super Shuttle, it says. Well anyways, I open the door to the van and I see why. There are Brian's parents, half asleep in the front and him, staring daggers at me in the back.

"Isn't that the guy you were talking to last week?" My mom whispers, before nudging me to the back, right next to Brian. He'd better not try anything right now, because I'm sleepy and grumpy that I have to sit with him. My parents get in and greet his parents and they wave at me. My parents wave at Brian and I roll my eyes. The Super Shuttle drives off and everyone is talking, but us.

"So have you guys met before?" My mom asks. I laugh sarcastically at her question, because she knows for damn sure that we have. She's the one that pushed me back here for God's sake!

"Yeah Mom, we go to the same school," I say, glaring at him. His expression is blank towards me and I giggle.

"That's nice, then you guys will be able to hang out while we do the things we want to do," his mom says.

"And don't try anything with my daughter, young man," my dad says with a laugh. Brian laughs and my dad turns back around. Too late for that, Dad. We give each other a look and we know that he will.

He'll be trying everything.

I yawn and start to doze off again and everyone else does too— well, at least I thought so. I feel a hand on my thigh getting closer to the inside of my leg. I swat his hand away and glare at him. I mouth out 'stop it' to him and he smirks.

"Just wait, sweetheart, you'll want me when we're alone," he whispers. I roll my eyes but still nod my head, too tired to protest. We pull into the airport parking lot and everyone wakes up. We all get our luggage and bags.

Right now, it's about 2:00 so our flight leaves at like 3:00.

"Do you want to walk around with me?" Brian asks.

"Sure." Only because it beats sitting here with nothing to do.

"Mom, is it okay if I walk around some?" I ask. She nods and I get up. We start walking and he puts his arm around my shoulder. I push his arm away and he raises an eyebrow.

"What's wrong with you?" He asks. I look away and sigh.

"Nothing," I huff.

"If it was nothing, you wouldn't be acting like such a b****." I cross my arms and shake my head.

"Seriously, tell me what's wrong or I'm turning around right now and you're not getting anything when we get to Hawaii." He starts to turn around.

"Wait."

"Okay so what's bothering you?" We start walking again and I run a hand through my hair.

"You're bothering me. You're such an a****** and I can't stand you."

"Oh, but you can only stand me if I'm f****** you?" I look at him in disgust. But deep down, I know he's right.

"F*** you."

"Be patient, and you will," he says, smirking. I scoff and keep walking. We look inside some shops, actually bonding some and he buys me some food from The Habit.

"Thanks for the food, Mr. Hotshot," I grin. I love people who buy me food. Except for Brian, he'll just be on my good side until he f***s it up.

"No problem, miss no name."

Once we finish eating, we walk back. He gives me a mint and takes one for himself. I sit down across from everyone, waving at my parents to show that I'm back. Brian sits next to me and my mom gives me that smile. I chuckle and look down at my phone, about to watch YouTube. I get out my ear buds and plug them in, putting them in my ears. I watch music videos and completely zone out.

It doesn't even feel like a long time before Brian taps my shoulder and tells me that we're leaving. I get up and we get our tickets checked. I walk through the tube and the flight attendants greet me with a free blanket. I thank them as I find my seat. There's no one in the row yet, so I'll take the window seat because who wouldn't? I sit down and Brian sits right next to me. How wonderful, now he can do stuff to me knowing I can't just leave. There's a stranger seated next to him, my parents are across from us, and his parents are in front of us. I wave to my mom and dad and they wave back. I sit back to get comfortable as we start to take off.

After an hour or so, everyone is asleep except for me and Brian because we were on our phones the whole time everyone was falling asleep. I feel my eyelids getting heavier as I drift off into sleep, laying my head on his shoulder. Probably a bad idea, but I'm sleepy so I don't care.

"Don't think I forgot that we have unfinished business to take care of, I'm not letting you off that easily," he whispers, before actually letting me sleep.
