"This could be considered trespassing, you know?" Dalton said with a southern drawl
Rosalie turned to see a tall man standing behind her. At first glance he was clearly very handsome, nothing like the men she was used to in Boston. He had skin tanned from the sun, no doubt working in the beautiful fields she had just been admiring. His chest and shoulders were broad and strong from what she could see from under his simple black tee. As she made her way back up to his face to admire what she may find there, she saw a his mouth form a smirk, clearly seeing that she had been sizing him up.
"Oh.. I... I'm so sorry, the sunset was just so beautiful, I just.." Blushing, Rosalie paused.
"My name is Rosalie Elliot, I'm looking for a Mr. Dalton Hayes?" Rosalie stated, trying her best to sound assertive.
"In the flesh" Dalton said. "And if I'm not mistaken Ms. Elliot, you were scheduled to show up tomorrow morning." Dalton replied, amused.
Taking a step toward her, Dalton could now clearly see Rosalie features. She had a softly rounded face, sporting full lips and rosy cheeks. Her eyes seemed to widen as he moved closer to her, giving him a better look at how strikingly blue they really were.
"Yes, I decided to drive through the night as I've never been a fan of hotels" Rosalie said, trying not to let on how eager she was to get there.
She continued. "If it's not too much of an inconvenience, I was hoping to take a look at the rental today?"
Dalton seemed to contemplate for a second, thinking back to the dinner he had just prepared that was no doubt getting cold by now.
"So be it, the Cabin is just to the right of the house, you can park your car there" Dalton said while pointing to a dirt parking spot off the driveway.
Turning to head back into the house to grab the keys to the cabin, Dalton was stopped by a high pitch screaming noice.
"What on gods earth is that?" Dalton sneered. Turning back to see what what making the noice, he found Rosalie already down the steps and headed towards her car.
"It's my baby" she simply put as she opened the back door to her car.
Lifting the crying baby from her car seat, she hugged her close to her chest and swayed her slightly. She could feel Dalton's eyes on her now, I suppose he was surprised as everyone else was when they saw she was as a mother, she mused. She was only 19 when she met Declan, though the marriage came to a end just 3 years after.
"She needs to be changed. This will only be a minute" She said as she opened her driver side door and gingerly laid the baby down.
As Rosalie tended to her child, Dalton turned and headed fully inside. While grabbing the keys he thought to himself, would the cabin be big enough for 3 people? Surly she had a husband, a woman as beautiful as her must be tied to someone already. Dalton felt a ping of jealousy, but quickly pushed it away. He spent most of his life alone, he didn't need to change that now.
Heading back out of the house he found Rosalie with the baby in her arms once again, but now calm with bright eyes that mimicked her mothers only in a darker shade.
"Lead the way" Rosalie said with a kind smile on her face, excited to see her new home.
