Escaping the guards

With the big curtain under them, they landed in an awkward position on the branches of the trees. As fast as they could, Aiden, Jasmine and Louis jumped down, they landed safely and Jasmine said, "Sir John! Release your grip on me, I'll lead the way!"

Meanwhile, at other places, at another room, sticking to the ceiling of the room like a lizard, Oliver muttered to himself in his heavy accent as he watched the scenes unfolding in front of him, "What kind of situation is this"

Right in front of him, the guards in their turanic heavy mamluk armour entered the room and slaughtered all the people part of the delegation. Oliver crawled his way toward the door and dropped down, then he made a run for, "Aiden! Ma'student! Mate! You better be safe and alive!"

Running for the gate, Aiden saw the guards in their armour, unsheathing their weapons and pointing it at him. He unsheathed his sword, Dainsleif, and charged at one of the guards that have a spear in his hand.

[Equipped Dainsleif]

When the guard thrust his spear toward him, barely dodging it, Aiden lunged toward the man, with his sword pointing toward the man's stomach. What surprised him was not only did the man did not fall, his sword didn't even pierce the armour.

Now face to face with the guard while both sides panicked and not knowing what to do, they just stared toward each other. Aiden then furrowed his eyebrows and kicked the guard on his stomach, which made the guard fell on his back like a turtle.

Not having the intention of sparing him he got on top of the turtle-like guard and with both hands, he directed his sword toward the visor, "Argggh!"

He pulled up his sword from the guard's head, now slightly covered with blood, then got himself up and shouted, "Sir John and Jasmine! Quick, this way!"

He slightly turned his head to the side and saw that Sir John, with his sword slightly covered with blood too, rushing toward Aiden, "Let's go, my carriage is just outside of the city!"

Then continued on their run toward the outside of the city while the people were staring at them and screaming because of the sight of the sword covered in blood. After a few moments, Aiden found himself right in front of the inn.

He looked toward it for a few seconds and again, he shouted, "Sir John! I have two horses in the stable of this inn! Why not you and Jasmine get from this place with the horses?"

Sir John and the girl stopped, "No, it's your horse! The carriage and the guards are waiting for me outside the city! The princess would be much safer with me!"

Aiden, with his eyebrows furrowed, nodded, "Let's go on our way from here on! We will meet at the city of Criton or other places! I hope for your safety and survival in the desert"

[Unequipped Dainsleif]

Sir John nodded, and the girl waved to Aiden right before they both continued on their way. Aiden smiled before he got inside the inn and hid inside it. The sight of the guards passing in front of the inn increased his heartbeat.

But when the situation seemed to have calmed down, he sighed and sat on one of the tables. Not even three seconds after he sat down, the door bursted open and the attention of the people in that room were directed at the entrance of the inn as Aiden was about to have a heart attack.

He slowly moved his face while profusely and nervously sweating, then he saw the familiar figure, Oliver, "Oliver! I'm glad you are safe, let's get out of this damn city now!"

Oliver smirked as he heavily panted because of exhaustion, "Ya c*nt! I'm glad ya safe from these bastards! Yea, le's get out of this damned city now"

They then rushed toward their horses and grabbed them. Without even noticing the stableman, they took off. Soon, they found themselves in the first layer of the city where the poor gathered the slums, which also meant the last layer before they could leave the city.

Of course, they were not that carefree. In front of them were guards, all of them, in a messy formation, charged toward them in their light armour. Aiden, once again, unsheathed his sword and galloped his horse forward.

[Equipped Dainsleif]

The lightly armoured guards trembles and ran away upon the sight of Aiden on his horses with his swords charging at them. But Dainsleif… once it's bared, a person's soul must be taken away from him.

Without hesitation, Aiden slit the throat of one of the guard as he passed the gate. Soon, Aiden and Oliver found themselves in the middle of the desert. No one was chasing them after they left the city.

[Unequipped Dainsleif]

He said to Oliver, "Oliver! What are going to do now?"

Oliver smirked, "Mate, ya remembe that one kingdom I was talkin about? Why not we go there? I actually got quite an amount of money from teachin those beginner archers!"

Aiden nodded, "Well then! Lead the way… or should we just return to our homes?"

Oliver smiled, "If I were ya, I chos the firs one!"

Aiden nodded once again, and he began focusing on controlling his horse on the way, but what he did not expect were a cloud of dust, a small one, in front of the two men. He pointed at it, "Mate… you see that over there?"

Oliver nodded in response as he slowly placed his hand on the handle of his sword, "Yea yea, I see that… mate, just get ready, there might be a fight there"

Aiden nodded as he did the same as Oliver, placing his hand on the handle of his legendary sword. Soon, the two of them were close enough and saw what was creating the cloud. Horsemen, numbering in around fifteen, in their turanic heavy mamluk armour. In the middle of it was a decorated carriage.

"Halt! One of the guards said!" One of the guards shouted from afar.
