What happened afterward

Screaming

Shooting

Metal meeting metal

A loud thud

Thump

You name it

Aiden heard it all as he laid to the ground, slowly opening his eyes, then looking at the moon as at near each side of his bodies, where the two men. Sir John and Oliver, fighting for their lives and also for his, 'I'm… not experienced enough, I lost to the fight… that pain,'

As he said that, he felt great pain in his head, but ignoring it, he slowly raised his head and glanced at his body. Covered with cuts, with unarmoured bodies stood no chance against the enemy's sabres.

His head fell down to the ground once again. Feeling dizzy, he gathered the strength and turned his neck to his right. Sir John, were fighting for him, six against one. He swung his broadsword toward the enemies that counter-attacked by slashing his body with their sabres.

Blood spurting at Aiden's face as he saw Sir John, almost on his knees. He then turned to the left, seeing Oliver, fighting with a knife and using his short bow as a weapon against six other men. His situation was even worse, with so many cuts across his body. Hands, legs, chest, even necks.

Once again, the blood of his companion spurted out of Oliver's body, making its way toward Aiden's face. At this moment of time, he remembered what happened.

He successfully slashed one of the men with his sword at that charge, but the next thing he felt was a great amount of pain from a blunt weapon on his head. Then he fell from his horse, blacked out, and what greeted him was the sight of the moon.

Now, right after he recalled what happened before he found himself in such a state, he felt dizzier as second passed. He slowly closed his eyes and saw the two men, their body falling right on his stomach.

The now-only twelve people remaining opened their masks as they surrounded Aiden, Sir John and Oliver, smirking. Aiden's eyes were almost closed at that moment, but the last thing he saw before his eyes closed was arrows.

Arrows hitting the twelve men as they fell on Aiden's body, just like what Sir John and Oliver did. After that, the only things he saw were darkness and darkness and the more darkness, and more, more, more, more darkness.

But amongst that darkness, a light appeared, taking Aiden's attention. One thing he found himself seeing and staring at the darkness, the next, he found his eyes opening and the wooden ceiling greeting him.

Bump

He felt his body moving, but not by his own will, but by the bump of whatever he bumped into. His whole body felt numb to him as he slowly moved his finger. He then soon realized the comfortable feeling and softness of whatever he is laying on.

Slowly but surely, he felt the feeling of being able to control his body. Although slowly getting himself up with the numb feeling and the stiffness slowly disappearing, he found himself sitting on what it seemed to be a bed.

He looked around and realized that he was inside a small room inside a carriage with wooden walls all around him. And he also noticed that his body was covered in bandages, one that was done well by whoever did it.

Aiden smiled, 'Well, at least that… I seem to be in a safe hand. Why else do they assign all kinds of stuff for me if that's not the case? They even left my sword on its scabbard beside of me!'

[Acquired Dainsleif]

The carriage stopped, taking him by surprise as he felt that he was almost thrown away.

(The feeling is like… that one time you missed a step of stair)

He sat there for a few seconds, slowly placing his sword on his lap with one hand on the grip of his sword. The door of the carriage slowly opened. He gulped his saliva as the door opened.

The light of the sun getting inside his carriage as a beautiful, young, light-skinned woman with blue eyes and her light blonder hair presented herself, "Calm down sir, I'm here to help"

Aiden shook his head, "Yea, no. First of all, explain where we are heading to and why I'm here"

The girl sighed, "No can do, let's just say that I am a doctor and I'm here to change the bandages. You were on a pretty bad state when one of our men saw you"

Aiden sighed, "Just to be cautious, place that…"

He saw a wooden box on the hand of the girl, "That wooden box in front of me and slowly open it. Make sure that I can see it clearly!"

The girl nodded, complying with Aiden's commands and placed the wooden box in front of him then slowly opening it, 'Bandages… some, leaves? Then a cloth filled with pills?'

Aiden raised his eyebrows, "The contents inside this box look pretty suspicious… some of them are useless for healing somebody. But none of them threatens me. Yea, I guess I'm safe. Come in"

The girl nodded. She entered the tight, cramped room as Aiden kept an eye on her. Then she slowly opened Aiden's bandages. Aiden was surprised at how many cuts he saw on his body, but the doctor said to him, "Don't worry, most of the cuts are not that deep, it will heal in about a few days or so, might not even leave a mark. Can't say the same to some of them though,"

Aiden sighed and nodded, understanding what happened to him, "Yea, I understand the situation…"

The girl then chewed the leaves on the boxes and then spat it out toward the bandages, then placing it at Aiden's body. With great skill, she changed the bandages in a short time, without Aiden even feeling any pain in his body.

She smiled and placed all the dirty bandages in a bag and then said to Aiden as she turned around, "That's all, see you later! Also, grab some food near the campfire,"

Aiden grabbed her arm before she could leave the carriage and then said, "Well, since you did the bandages, why not explain what's happening to me currently?"

She sighed, "We rescued you, we saved you from the damned country. That country is filled with corruption. And even that girl, princess Ekrem, died at the hands of her own brother"
