CHAPTER - 45 { Indigo League Part-4 }

Battleground___

The sun was about to set, the stadium lights were turned on for a better view.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! We are back with the main battles of the tournament! On my left is a trainer from the West of Kanto Region, Fountain Town! Her name is Ema Perk!".

All the lights focus on the left entrance as a woman about three years older to Kota walks up.

"Ema! Go for the win! Defeat that Kota!, " Many of the audience were supporting Ema.

The claps and cheers were definitely loudest till now.

"Now guys! Here comes our monster! Trainer Kota from Pallet Town!, " Desi stood up and shouted Kota' name which hyped the audience.

"Yaaaaaa! Kota! Kota! Kota!, " The cheers this time, completely crushed the former one.

'I really wanted to face off against you, ' Ema looked towards the opposite entrance.

With the lights on the right entrance, Kota came up and stared straight at Ema.

His face didn't show much of his expressions as he is usually, but he did look cooler.

Ema and Kota came in front of each other and shook their hands.

"I hope you give your best, " Ema said, she looked at Kota and felt something.

It's like she didn't need to say those words to him for some reason.

"I always do. And I expect a challenge from you, " Kota smiled and they parted away to their respective spots.

"Trainers! Let your pokemons out!, " The referee waved his hand and indicated the start of the match.

"Starmie! Bring me victory!, " Ema threw a pokeball on the battleground.

Starmie, a water/psychic type pokemon. It is known as the Mysterious Pokémon.

"Staaa!"

"Show it what you can, " Kota pulled out the middle pokeball from his waist belt.

With the white flash, Gengar came out and floated in the air.

"Gengar!"

Grinning, Gengar started roaming around Starmie with his creepy laughs.

"Starmie, Psychic!, " Ordered Ema, Starmie nodded as it looked towards Gengar.

"Starmie?"

But Gengar was nowhere to be seen, Starmie was surprised but totally alerted.

"Shadow Ball, " Said Kota, then from Starmie' shadow, two eyes became visible.

*Boom*

With the loud explosion, Starmie was thrown forward by the impact of Shadow Ball.

"Gengar!"

Gengar came out of Starmie' shadow and floated in the air while laughing.

"Damn it! Starmie, use Confusion!, " Ema wasn't willing to lose the first battle.

"Starr!"

Floating next to Gengar, Starmie used Confusion to slam him on the ground.

"Gengar!"

Training by the methods of Kota, the first thing that Gengar learned was to get used to beating.

"Gengar"

Standing up as if nothing happened, Gengar wiped the dust off his chest.

"Starmie, Ice Beam!, " Ema ordered, Starmie then immediately shot a ray of blue at Gengar.

"Dive, " Said Kota, Gengar smiled and directly dived in the ground to escape the Ice Beam.

With half the field in ice, Starmie searched but couldn't see Gengar.

"Stay alerted! Don't let him win you mentally!, " Ema' words were heard by Kota as well, which made him smile.

"I never wish to, " Muttered Kota, he didn't order Gengar to come up from the ground.

As time went by each second, the situation was getting more tense.

"Trainer Kota, you are wasting time. This can result in your loss, " The referee spoke, making Ema show a sign of relief.

'Now you will have to let Gengar come out the hiding, ' Thought Ema, she looked at Kota to see him staring at her.

Not exactly her, but behind her.

"Aaaa!, " Ema screamed, right behind her was Gengar who stood like a ghost.

Well, Gengar was one to begin with but acting and being one were two completely different matters.

"Bastard! How dare you scare her! You evil being!, " Many of Ema's supporters showed their anger by shouting at Kota and Gengar.

"Start the battle again!, " With the referee saying, Gengar and Starmie stood opposite each other.

"Gengar, finish it, " Kota' words definitely sounded arrogant to many people.

But Ema didn't feel like that. She instead was feeling the opposite.

"Starmie, Giga Impact!, " Ordered Ema, Starmie charged towards Gengar at full speed.

"Gengar!"

With his palms closed, Gengar smiled at the incoming as multiple Shadow Balls surrounded him.

When the distance between Gengar and Starmie was about five meters, Gengar went to the ground.

"Stop!, " Ema was a few seconds later, with the loud explosion, Starmie was blasted off.

"Starmie!"

With many cracks on its gem, Starmie was unable to continue fighting.

"You did good, Starmie. Leave the rest to your friends, " Ema was sad about Starmie but didn't let it affect her mind.

"It's just the first battle, I still have many chance!, " Ema encouraged herself and pulled out another pokeball.

"Yes, let's win!, " With the bright shine in her eyes, Ema threw the pokeball on the battleground.

* * *

Minutes later___

"Am I dreaming? It can't be true right? There's no way it's possible! With just one pokemon!, " Desi rubbed his eyes and drank a whole bottle of water.

Before him on the battleground, Kota's Gengar floated above the fifth pokemon of Ema's.

It was Rhydon, a ground/rock type pokemon. It is known as the Drill Pokemon.

Five consecutive victories with just a single pokemon, it's something that has never happened in any tournament.

"I-I… Why?, " Ema stared at her fallen Rhydon, the battle didn't last a minute.

"You told me to give my best, and this is my best with one of my pokemons, " Said Kota, he looked at the mentally defeated Ema with dissatisfaction.

Everyone in the audience, be it Ash, Gary, Professor Oak, Dipen, etc.

They didn't know about it until now.

Kota is strong. Yes.

But this level of power, it's almost frightening. Who will want to face this kind of opponent.

"Hurry, you still have a pokemon left, " Said Kota, his eyes staring at Ema, almost devouring her soul.

There was one particular person watching the match with some different kind of emotion.

Not surprised, not shocked, not stunned, not happy, not angry, not mindblowen but confused.

"Why does it feel like there is something which doesn't belong to that body?".
