Cornered wolf says what!

***MC POV***

Looking at the pile of corpses in front of me, I feel quite proud. There were around 30 bodies piled every 10 meters and since this side only has around a length of 120 meters (or so I've heard), it can be said that less than 400 dogs died at these fences.

[At first glance there were only around half of these bodies, I guess there were quite a few who were still hiding in the dark.] Thinking about the mismatching numbers and the fact that the sun still hasn't risen, then that was the most likely outcome that I can think of. After all, the only source of light here were the strategically and sporadically placed torches, and most of us just stay under them.

Glancing around the place, there weren't that many dogs left biting around this area, and looking to my left I can see even less except at the the corner of the front fence and this fence as it was too far but most likely the dogs at the front fence hasn't decreased. I then look to my right and see that they are still fighting hard.

"Uh-oh...2nd...look there" Although I wanted us to stay here but it looks like most of the dogs in this area were actually concentrated at the gap which was slowly getting ripped open. Seeing where I was pointing at, 2nd showed an interested look and immediately started walking towards the deathmatch between the dogs and our group.

Sighing internally, I gave up trying to avoid that area, we don't have much to do here anymore as almost all the dogs are going to that gap. The ones farther away still haven't noticed the situation due to their frenzy so no dogs will be biting at the fences for a while.

That leaves me no choice but to go help or else when this is over a few might pick a problem with me. The situation with the alpha was slightly better as there are less and less dogs assisting the alpha. I can see it becoming more desperate in its attack against the group leader.

The formation that the ones who were fighting was surrounding the gap in a half-circle while leaving two people to watch their backs in-case of any setbacks with the alpha, showing their lack of trust in the group leader.

*clang* *grrrr* *whimper* *AAAaahhhhhh*

As 2nd and I joined up, we can see that the situation was a desperate attempt to contain tens of dogs in such a small area. Many of them were already covered in wounds and a goblin that got lacerated at the thigh is now lying cold on the ground, unmoving.

The gap at the fence was still slowly being pulled apart by the dogs and at this rate it might permanently snap open. That scenario will be the worse that can happen here as we are already struggling to contain these dogs and if more were to add up, we can say goodbye .

I can see the orclings trying their best to push back the dogs so they can get to the hole but sadly there are too many and they're too slow. The best way is to get a small group of people to rush between the dogs and somehow close the gap before more get in.

Thinking about how to implement that I began to shout at them to close it.

"We need... to close...the hole!!" Hearing me say that a few who were especially tired glared at me.

"We know that you....dumb twit but can't...you see there are....too many!" After he said that, I grin and try to convince them of my plan.

"I can...do it...just need...people" Hearing me volunteer for such a task, they exchanged puzzled faces and ignored me, continuing to try their luck on pushing back the waves of dogs.

Well, of course, who'd believe a goblin who just suddenly spouts off he can do stuff.

[Ugh. I guess I have to be a tattle-tale.] Readying myself mentally for the hateful glares I'll get, I shouted out to leader who was having a face-off with the alpha.

"LEADER!...THEY'RE NOT...CLOSING...THE GAP" Shouting with all my might, I managed to see the leader's head bulge with a vein and his facial expression contorting. At the same time, I feel a few piercing stares come from those who are vainly pushing the dogs back.

*BANG*

"IF YOU LI'L PIECES OF CRAP DARE TO SCHEME AGAINST ME...I'LL LET THIS MUTT OFF ON YOU ALL!!!" Hearing the leader shout out loud, the one who were glaring at me visibly flinched and took a more serious look at me.

"Trust me...this will...work...I just...need some...volun,teers.." I glanced up at them and largen my eyes in what I think is called "the googly eyes technique". Spitting in disgust, a few goblins helplessly joined me and asked what to do.

I told them that they just need to run straight at the gap, help me fend off the dogs while I fix the gate and also give me any spare polearms or rod-shaped stuff they have. Nodding their heads, they gave what I asked for which only amounted to three hollow metal pipes and positioned ourselves for a run. I asked the slightly more muscular orcling to help us open up a breach in the dogs attacks.

"GET...READY...GO" Signalling them to start our sprint we immediately ran as fast as we can so that those dogs who are facing off against the encirclement can't catch up.

*HUfff* *Huff* *Haaaa*

Running as fast as we can, we left those dogs and dodge any others who were coming at us. After running for around 50 meters, we arrive at the gap where a few dogs were bunched up and trying to get in.

2nd and the other goblins I had with me immediately started bashing at the dogs and trying to get them to distance themselves. I then instructed them to hit the nose as that would make them feel the most pain, making them back off in surprise.

*Bang* *smash* *whimper* *grrr*

After a few repeated bashings at the dogs, the corpses of their comrades served as enough buffer for me to do my magic on the fences. I bring out a pipe and insert it in a few wires of the fence and started turning it like a wheel.

Since these steel wires are likely bendable and more elastic than iron or other metals, they twist easily with the amount of force I used and tightened the gap with the pipe as the fixture. After repeating that two more times, the gap was closed and even if the dogs want to drag it open, they won't be able to as we are here.

[Now we just need to tide through against these dogs and it'll soon be over.] Looking at these dogs try and get close to the sealed gap, I shake my head and think of how risky the actions I took were. At that moment...

*AWOOOOO*

"HMPH..DIE YOU MUTT!!!" It looks like the leader is winning against the alpha, hahaha. I grin at the thought and think of a catch line to express my feelings.

[Cornered dog says WUUTTTT!]
