***Dondon(Group leader) POV***
Almost at the same time as the alpha rushed and caught a goblin, I also went forward as fast as I can. When I was halfway to the place where the alpha is, I saw one of the goblins nearest to that place shout that an alpha is there.
[Ugh, great. Now no one won't come near there. At least there'll be no distractions when I fight.] Thinking of the advantages of fighting by my lone self, I ran even faster to the breach the alpha made in the fence.
Although a few dogs that came from the gap ran at the goblins, they clearly remembered the formation I told earlier in the event that the fence lets in the dogs. I bypassed a few who tried to attack me or those who are just running in my direction.
Looking at my direction, I see the alpha suddenly tensing up its muscles, evidently preparing for a fight. Murderous intents flashing in its eyes ominously, it ran off towards my direction clearly identifying me to be the greatest.
*whoosh whooosh*
I took out two daggers and threw them towards the alpha. Sadly, the alpha dodged the projectiles but that served good enough as a distraction for me to be able to strike it in a more controllable situation. Taking out two more daggers I swung them towards the alpha.
*clang* *growll*
Seemingly like wind, the alpha parried a swing of one my dagger with his claws, the other one successfully grazed the limb it parried with, luckily. It was a really good thing too as my dagger holsters have a special mechanism that covers my daggers perpetually with paralyzing poison.
*clang* *clang* *clang*
*ROOOARRR*
After a few exchanges, seemingly having felt the effect of my poison in the tiny wound it had gotten, the alpha roared at me with indignation and anger. It tried backing off a few steps but I followed it closely, not allowing it to be more than 5 steps away from me.
*Awooooo*
I tried to circle it so that it won't be able to back off from the direction it came from. In response to my cautious actions, the alpha howled and suddenly ran fast towards the gap in the fence.
Having seen its intentions, I immediately catch up to it but not before seeing in my peripheral vision that a few dogs actually went back, blocked and tried to attack me to help the wolf. Dealing with them first, I inevitably lost the few precious seconds to take advantage of the running alpha.
[Smart dog, trying to pick its fights. Tsk] Getting really irritated with how smart the alpha is I ran faster trying to cut it off. Seeing me gaining on it, it suddenly turned around when I was 10 steps from it. Then, with a mighty push from its legs it dashed towards me.
*whoosh* *clang*
It must have thought that since it cannot lose me with its speed then it's trying to gang up on me with the help that managed to squeeze its way through the gap it made. Resigning myself to a long fight with these mutts.
[Cheh. Things will go bad if the little ones keep storming me.]
I immediately start circling around them trying to get some space so that I can give some instructions to the others who were holding off the other intruders.
"Oi, orclings! Why aren't any of you trying to close that gap?! Hurry or else we'll become dog chow if I get overwhelmed here!" Giving out my orders as fast as I can, I went back to focusing back to this multiple enemy fight hoping that those guys can close the gap so that we can trap one of their leaders here.
***MC POV***
From the corner of my eye I can see the flashy techniques our group leader is displaying. At the start he could overwhelm that big doggy as it suddenly became conscious after receiving a cut but after a bit of chasing the alpha suddenly begun using his scattered dog underlings to gang up on group leader.
"Oi, orclings! Why isn't any of you trying to close that gap?! Hurry or else we'll become dog chow if I get overwhelmed here!" Hearing the order, I immediately craned my head to see what the other orclings were doing.
*puk* *drip drip*
Before that though I finish off a little doggy by jamming my spear at its opened mouth, it was rushing at me with foams around its mouth, dangerous.
Looking to my right and scanning the area, I see 2 orclings busy with fending off around 8 dogs who surrounded them, while the 3rd orcling was occupied with defending a large part of the fence that was still being attacked by other dogs as many of the people there were fighting the ones who got inside.
Looking to my left, I see that this area was able to hold its own albeit with a few gaps having widened a bit. The good thing was that it looks like this side can spare some people although they seem to have not heard the group leader's orders.
Emboldening myself I ordered 2nd to take care of our post and shot off to the left, near enough so they can hear me.
"Hey Friends!...Leader...needs help!.." Being as concise as I can, I pointed at the big hole while asking them for help. Looking at where I was pointing, their eyes widened a little as a few of them try to rush towards that area.
It seems that they were too preoccupied with battle that they haven't heard my shout earlier or maybe my voice was still too faint, after all I am still a kid-sized goblin.Seeing them run and try to help, I also got the idea to help but my mind keeps telling me to back off from that area as the alpha was still there although occupied by the group leader.
[Yeah. Safety is better. I should just maintain my post well. I still can't help that much with a body like this.] Ridding myself of the self-pity, I went back to 2nd to help fend off the dogs at the fence. Seeing me come back quickly, he was obviously happy as he doesn't have to thrust his arms outside anymore.
Looking at his arms more closely I can see a couple of scratches and scrapes made by teeth barely scraping against skin. Seeing those wounds on his arms I handed him the spear and told him to use that first while I took out a sharpened piece of scrap from my trousers and the worn cloth from the bag.
As most of the dogs were clumped around the gap making it possible for only a few to get in at a time, most of the dogs in the area near there, like ours, have only 3 or 4 dogs left biting at the fence. The trade-off is that the other who were stronger were killing off those who managed to get in.
I quickly worked on the cloth and made it into strips while I just kept the sleeves as is. I also cut off the hole-ridden leather cover of the bag and cut it into two separate pieces. Calling 2nd again, I told him to extend his arms and quickly inserted them to the sleeves, then, I wrap the leather pieces over the sleeve while also using the cloth strips to wrap the leather pieces securely on his forearms.
Vwala! On-the-spot makeshift arm guards for this brawler subordinate of mine. Taking back the spear we continued fighting off the dogs that are still vainly biting at the fence in our area.
2nd, with renewed fervor, kept punching the dogs outside as he kept giggling, looking amazed at his new piece of flimsy equipment, ugh.
