Chapter 40

Later that evening, Eva sent her driver to go pick Lilian up from the office. On their way back, Lilian went to the police station to check to see if there are any new changes but the answer was the same.

When she got home, she explained to Eva that there is no new update about the incident.

Eva was getting worried and confused as well because she doesn't know if it was an ordinary burglary or something else, but Eva told her not to worry that she will be fine.

Grandma Liz was still angry with Eva because she thought they were going shopping or to an important occasion, she even dressed up, not knowing they were going to the hospital for a full body checkup.

"Lillian, I'm sure you knew about the HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT, but you didn't mention it to me as well" Grandma Liz was angry with everyone in the house except for Rosie

"Grandma, it is for your benefit" Lillian replied. She knew Eva was taking her to the hospital but obviously, she couldn't spill the beans.

"So how was the appointment?" Lillian asked Eva

"Yeah it was alright, the doctor said her appetite is due to age. He said the more you get older the more your appetite reduces. He also said she needs to be careful because of her back, but overall shes healthy and fine" Eva replied

"Well I told you I was fine didn't I" Grandma Liz shouted

"Oh thank goodness" Lillian exclaimed

"So next time I tell you I'm fine, I am fine" Grandma Liz spoke

"Yeah yeah, I would still do the same thing if I have concerns about your health" Eva replied

"Whatever" Grandma Liz smirked

"Grandma you know it is all about love," Eva said while hugging her grandma.

After settling down and having dinner, she checked her phone to see her brother's message, reminding her about what they spoke about over the weekend.

Eva thought about it and remembered the incident in the spa, so she decided to give her mom a call.

"Hello, are you calling to mock me?" Sophia spoke

"Oh god here we go again, this is why I don't call you, I'm only calling to check up on you cos when you left the spa, you weren't looking good" Eva replied

"Is it not your fault it all went down that way?"

"So it's my fault your husband is cheating on you with your best friend, ok no worries. I see you are doing fine. Good night" Eva replied

"Bitch" Sophia mumbled before Eva could hang up.

She hanged up, she thought why could her mother never do something without blaming her. She knows that even if her brother doesn't live with her and move out on his own, their mom would still blame her.

So she decides that she will call him tomorrow to tell him, he can move in but there will be conditions and rules he has to follow.

She was waiting eagerly for Addy to call. They now talk every day at night, and she is now getting to know him, and the more they talk, the more interest she is. It seems like she is getting used to talking to him on a daily basis. Just then, her phone rang and her heart skipped a beat like it always does, and you can see the excitement on her face.

"Hello"

"You sound excited, are you happy to hear my voice?" Addy's voice came through as he teased her

"Stop it" She replied shyly

"So you are happy to hear my voice" he continued to tease her.

"If you don't stop teasing me, I will hang up this call" Eva threatened him

"Ok fine I will stop. How is the beautiful and gorgeous queen doing?

"I'm fine thanks, and you too?"

"Well I'm fine now, I thought I was having a heart problem because I missed you so much, I couldn't wait for me to get back home and call you, my darling?

Eva blushed

"How was your day? Did you miss me?" Addy asked

"My day was quite good thanks" She purposely did not reply to the other part of the question knowing full well how she felt as well.

They continued their conversations into the night and after a while, Eva told him she's feeling dizzy already, but before she could hang up, Addy asked her a question

"Would you go out with me?"

Eva's sleepy eyes shot open, she knew he likes her, but would never expect it to be this soon.

"I know it might look like it so fast, but I feel so connected to you than anyone I've ever met in my life" Addy continued. She also feels the same way towards him, but she's scared of heartbreak and the fact that she's a mother, she needs to consider her option well before making any decision, so she doesn't regret it in future.

"Ermmm..." Eva couldn't say anything

"You don't have to give me an answer now, but think about it and give me your answer later" He wasn't sure what her response would be, but he knew he had to say it out.

"Ok..." She replied

"Good night gorgeous"

"Alright, good night" She replied and hanged up.

She was happy but at the same time worried. She didn't sleep well that night, she kept turning and tossing on the bed. When her alarm rang, she reluctantly got up and went to freshen up.

When she got downstairs, everyone was surprised to see her drag herself to the dining table.

They all asked her what is wrong, but she told them nothing. After breakfast, her grandma told her she would be leaving today and would come back some other day. She hugged and kissed both her grandma and daughter before leaving the house with Lillian.

The car that always tails them is in the same spot waiting for them to come out of the main property.

Driver Ian saw the car as he was driving out of the property but didn't find anything suspicious about the car, so he didn't say anything.
