CORONATION FEVER

Valerian was at the Cathedral and the necessary decorations were already being made for the coronation that was going to happen the following week.

A couple of colourful banners were being hang up above and the pillars that held the being were being covered in decorations.

The red carpet was being put in place and a couple of other additional renovations were being put in place.

"I need the thrones one relatively higher than the other." Valerian was talking to a few of the men who were gathered around him.

He was taken to the coronation chair and he sat down in it for a while.

"Should we put the golden footstool?" One of the men asked.

"Of course, certainly, that would do." Valerian replied.

"Alright then." The man replied and Valerian got out of the chair.

He then walked over at the altar

He studied the staircase that led to the altar and it was composed of six steps.

He called over one of the men working on the abbey.

"Your Majesty." The man said as he bowed down the head.

"I need a golden and not red carpet laid for this part.

Royalty has a limit to divinity so I want the altar covered in colours of white, gold and red.

The Gold should be more significant than the other two colours and the white should appear least." Valerian said.

"Yes your Majesty." The man replied.

"Alright then." Alexander said.

"It looks like his Majesty is a little bit too busy doing his duty." Valerian had a voice say.

He turned around to see Alexander who was handsomely dressed in a black coat and tight white shorts and stockings.

"I wasn't expecting you to be here until your final coronation day." Valerian said with a smile and walked closer.

"Amongst one of the King's duties that are so important is supervising and checking put the Venue of his coronation." Alexander replied as he walked closer.

"As you see me here, I am reallt striving so hard to make all ends possibly meet." Valerian said.

"I must say that I am in deed impressed by the work of my Queen." Alexander said.

"Every thing you are seeing here is rather a sketch of the ceremony that is undergoing some completion." Valerian said.

"I see." Alexander said as he shifted his gaze and studied the entire place.

"Impressive." Alexander added.

"I know." Valerian boldy bragged.

"May I have a word with you, you know, away from the public eye here?" Alexander asked.

"Sure." Valerian replied.

Alexander then led the way to the nearby empty chapel of the building.

Once they arrived inside Valerian was surprised by a kiss from Alexander.

"Don't do that here." Valerian said trying to push Alexander away.

"It is the gods here that sanctified our marriage." Alexander insistingly said.

They kissed for a while and eventually pulled apart.

"So, exactly what else do you want to tell me?" Valerian asked.

"I was just missing you." Alexander replied.

"I have a hard time believing that." Valerian said.

"I seriously missed you." Alexander said.

"Alright, I finally believe you." Valerian said.

"Then I am happy." Alexander said.

"I have a feeling that you are forgetting something." Valerian said.

"Actually, I was also hoping that you might help me prepare for the coronation." Alexander replied.

"How?" Valerian asked.

"It is alright, I just need to practice the vows and the palace is a little bit lonely without you." Alexander replied.

"I understand, I am pretty much the one person that gave it life in the first place." Valerian said.

"Trust me, you give life to pretty much everythying." Alexander said.

"Then we'd better get ready with the coronation vows." Valerian said.

"Sure." Alexander said as he sat down on one of the pews and handed over a sheet of paper to Valerian.

Valerian looked at the sheet.

"What is this?" Valerian asked.

"These are the vows, you shall ask me and I shall reply according to what is written." Alexander replied.

"Am I free to make some adjustments?" Valerian asked.

"These vows have been the same...." Alexander was still saying but got interrupted.

"For close to a thousand years?" Valerian asked.

"Don't worry, I shall just be adding a few words to the words you shall intially say, not removing anything.

I am certain that none of that shall hurt, you know, adding some change and spice to it." Valerian added.

"Very well then, if you insist then I certainly can't refuse at all." Alexander said.

"Alright, let us get ready." Valerian said.

"I am ready when you are." Alexander said.

"Is his Majesty willing to take the oath?" Valerian asked.

"Yes, I am willing." Alexander replied.

"Will you King Alexander swear to rule and to Govern the people of the Kingdom of Scoln.

Be their King and they your loyal people to forever serve you with Majesty and dignity.

To honour the Name and title of the Kings who have come on before you and maintain the faith and defend it here in your realm?" Valerian asked.

"I am willing, with the help of the gods who have seen me fit to wear this crown." Alexander replied.

"Then so the vows have been made." Valerian said.

"Skip to the annnointing." Alexander said.

"That's it?" Valerian asked.

"Yes." Alexander replied.

"To be honest, I expected a more detailed dialogue." Valerian said.

"What is the need of being detailed if you must be straightforward?" Alexander asked.

"I am so sorry but the detail makes it all much better for the people to comprehend.

It attaches a particular sense of belonging and involvement in the ceremony." Valerian replied.

"Isn't that your primary reason for all of this?" Alexander asked.

"My primary reason is to show an empire representing both stability and steadfastness.

To show progress and transition from one Age and Era to another, from one Crown to another.

That way, I shall be rather satisified when the people behold their King as the most loved." Valerian replied.

"Then I can permit you to make your dialogue which I can only hope the people will love." Alexander said.

"Trust me, they all will." Valerian assured Alexander.

Afterwards, the two returned to the Royal Residence where Alexander continued into his study.

Valerian followed him inside and the two sat down.

In front of them were the Royal crown jewels, two orbs, two sceptres and two Diamond Crowns.

One Crown was bigger than the other and the second was two thirds the size of the first.

"What is this?" Valerian asked.

"Trying on the Crown jewels." Alexander replied.

"Can't they be put on on the day of the coronation?" Valerian asked.

"We must see if the size is appropriate for the head." Alexander replied.

"I did not suppose this was part of getting ready." Valerian said.

"It is key and very significant, at least I have been informed the attires for the ceremony have been successfully completed." Alexander said.

"Then I understand if you say so." Alexander said.

"You must feel a little bit disappointed though." Alexander added.

"Not really, the jewels look beautiful." Valerian replied.

"It is time your Majesty." Charles said and Helren stepped forward.

Helren picked up the orb and placed it in Alexander's left arm and picked up the Sceptre and put it into his right hand.

At last, he picked the bigger diamdem and raised it with solemnity and adorned the Royal brow.

At that instant, a brilliant beam of sunlight shone in the entire room and colonised the whole place.

Alexander stood up and then maintaining his equilibrium, he walked over to the mirror that was stationed behind him.

With the sunlight cast on his jewels, they gave off a majestic and blinding glow as he looked into the mirror.

Alexander undoubtedly looked every inch like a god himself in all the immense splendour.

Shortly after him, Valerian too was given his Crown jewels and walked uo closer to Alexander glittering as well.

"I must say that you look splendid." Alexander said.

"But not better than your Majesty." Valerian said.

"It is wonderful, isn't it?" Alexander asked.

"I would say that but there is a small problem though." Valerian said.

"And what in the world is it?" Alexander asked.

"I do find this Diadem on my head to be a little bit heavy." Valerian said.

"That is why I was confident that you were the one person fit for that weight." Alexander replied.
