SOME GOOD NEWS

Valerian walked through the hallways as he supervised the servants that were at work.

He watched a few portraits being shifted and decorations were being hung all over.

It was going to be a grand celebration and an amazing feast at that.

"Your Majesty." Helren said as he halted Valerian.

"Yes Helren." Valerian replied.

"Happy Anniversary." He said with a smile.

"Thank you so much." Valerian replied.

"So how far with the decorations your Majesty?" Helren asked.

"So far so good, did you get what I asked for?" Valerian replied and asked.

"The Cake has been baked and besides that I have already had everything put in place." Helren replied.

They were still talking when they saw Alexander approaching in a distance.

Valerian looked down but Helren could understand that he was simply shy for one of the very first few times.

"I shall take your leave your Majesty." Helren said.

"Wait." Valerian halted but Helren had made it a point to pretend that he had not heard a single thing at all.

At last Alexander had arrived and was stationed right there in front of the Queen.

"Your Majesty of my heart." Alexander dramatically said as he bowed his head.

"Quit trying to play around." Valerian replied.

"Did you miss me?" Alexander asked.

"Let me be honest, I didn't." Valerian lied.

His voice betrayed him and sold him off easily but Alexander thought it wise not to go any further than that.

"I heard you have been very busy." Alexander said.

"Practically since the entire morning." Valerian replied.

"Tell me if there aren't any qualified men or women in Scoln to do this job." Alexander said.

"The problem is however hard they try, none of them could possibly do it the way I want it.

Besides, it is our wedding anniversary so if I do the decorations it wouldn't be as bad as such." Valerian replied.

"It could be quite exhausting." Alexander said.

"I am fine." Valerian replied.

"Put that up very well." He added as he told one of the men who were fastening some candles in place.

Alexander couldn't help but look at Valerian and smile.

Valerian noticed a while later that Alexander had stared quite long enough at him.

"Am I really that interesting to look at?" Valerian asked.

"My, you look so charming when you are serious." Alexander replied.

"Drop that talk, we are amongst our subjects." Valerian said.

"I don't care, commons or not." Alexander said.

"You are my Queen so let me love you the way I want." Alexander replied.

"But I care, these are bedroom matters." Valerian said.

"Besides, how has work been so far?" Valerian asked.

"Same as usual, a little bit more refined this time around.

Besides, the country is peaceful and on top of that I was working on the last invitations of those attending our big party." Alexander replied.

Valerian smiled at him but started to feel a little bit easy and he condensed the pain.

The two continued to walk as they supervised the neatly decorated hallways.

"I must say, I should get fond of the house being so bright like this given the colours white and gold and red and yellow." Alexander said.

"I did this about months ago, Do not tell me you have just taken notice now." Valerian said.

"Being King I guess sometimes wears me out to the extent of not really taking keen interest to study the palace." Alexander said in his defence.

"That is a lie." Valerian said.

"No it isn't." Alexander replied.

"I spent time trying to refine my mind back at Greenstone house and I do recall how it looked like.

I haven't been to Scovia in a while but at least I can tell.

Here you are working in this building, Frankly speaking, I find it a little bit unbelievable." Valerian said.

"Well, at least you better believe it now." Alexander said.

They were still moving when the dizziness kicked in again.

At that time around, Valerian stopped as he held his head.

Alexander noticed as Valerian cringed in pain.

"What is wrong?" He asked.

"I don't know, I am having a headache." Valerian replied.

"I told you that you were overworking yourself." Alexander said as he moved over and held Valerian before he'd stumble.

Valerian regained his equilibrium.

"No worries, I am fine." He said.

"Are you sure?" Alexander asked.

"Yes, of course I am." Valerian replied with a sincere smile.

At least it assured Alexander but he slowly loosened his grip of Valerian.

The two were about to move further when at the time being, Valerian closed his eyes.

Alexander who had taken keen study of the situation was ready.

By the time Valerian's feet betrayed him, he rushed to his aid.

"Valerian." Alexander called but the Queen at the moment lay unconscious.

"Someone help." Alexander yelled as he lifted Valerian from the floor bridal style and dashed with him through the hallways.

Fortunately, they came across Gerald.

"What is wrong your Majesty?" Gerald asked.

"Call the Royal doctor to my Chambers now." Alexander yelled.

"Alright your Majesty." Gerald replied as he bowed his head and rushed away.

All eyes that were busy decorating watched as Alexander rushed by with his consort.

They were all questioning what had happened but Alexander continued until he got in to his bedroom.

He placed Valerian on the bed.

"Stay with me." He said repeatedly.

Gerald had arrived at the quarters of the Royal doctor when he knocked the door.

The Doctor opened.

"What is it?" The doctor asked.

"His Majesty has summoned you to his quarters, the Queen is unconscious." Gerald replied.

"Wait a minute." The Royal doctor said as he got hold of his box that contained his equipment and dashed out.

He was led by Gerald who nearly collided with Helren and the three continued to the King's room.

Alexander was still pacing about the room and so lost in thought when the door opened and in walked the three.

"Doctor." Alexander said a little bit relieved.

"What is it your Majesty?" The Doctor asked.

"It is the Queen." Alexander replied.

"Tell me, what is it that happened to him." The doctor said as he moved to the right side of the bed.

"We were just having a casual conversation when he fainted." Alexander replied.

"Just that?" The doctor asked as he pulled out his stethoscope.

"Yes." Alexander replied.

"Is there anything that you need to know?" Alexander asked.

"Yes." The doctor said as he checked for the pulse.

It was a little bit strong but there was some coincidence that he couldn't describe.

"I was wondering if there were any other signs you might have taken notice of." The doctor said.

"He was dizzy and he had surely accumulated enough fatigue from the entire morning.

He had been quite busy." Alexander replied.

"Just as I had expected." The Doctor said.

"So is everything alright?" Alexander asked.

"Nothing to be afraid of, the Queen was just over worked in a rather delicate condition your Majesty." The Doctor said.

"That is a relief." Alexander said.

"This calls for a celebration." The Doctor said.

"The Queen's recovery from a faint due to fatigue?" Gerald asked.

"No." The Doctor replied.

Every one looked puzzled by the Doctor's response.

"This is no ordinary situation you see." The Doctor added.

"Alright." Alexander said a little bit confused.

"In this condition, there would have been harm to both of them." The doctor said.

"Wait doctor, who exactly are we talking about?" Alexander asked.

"The Queen and....." The Doctor was saying and he stopped all of a sudden.

"Who?" Gerald asked.

"Forgive me your Majesty, I forgot to inform you about this first." The Doctor said and every one looked eager to know what it was.

"Congratulations, you will be a father soon." The Doctor said.

"His Majesty the Queen, he is pregnant." The Doctor added.

Alexander froze out of absolute excitement.

"Me a father." He spoke stutteringly out of so much bliss he could barely believe everything that was going on at that very moment.
