Abaddon

As soldiers prepare themselves for the siege with stretching exercises and some lifting training for the ladders and such. As the capital, it isn't built to withstand war.

Well, not as well as Jinqiang at least. For example, if they moat the walls, then considering where it's built on, the walls are more susceptible to collapse and maybe some earth magic.

The ground isn't as sturdy and hard as in Jinqiang. The capital is meant to be protected by the castle cities and look good. Those are the two purposes of a capital.

Since the armies of Destinasia and Restinasia with a bit of Gwanyan soldiers sprinkled in aren't too dumb, they send some soldiers to fan out check for any leaving merchants and maybe the king.

As a hero, I should stay back. However, I do plan on checking for the king once the walls are near breaking.

Going closer, as we expected, they can't moat the walls. They have, however, covered it in a slimy substance that will make the ladders slip and most likely, it's flammable to get rid of siege towers.

The flying machines are usable but with those temporary ballistas on the walls, it won't look too pretty. There are many options but the highest success rate would be to block all roads and wait.

...booooring.

Well, what is a less boring way? One general suggested tunneling under. It isn't a bad idea, but what happens when you arrive on the other side? Yeahhhh, not so viable now; a good try though.

Another guy suggested using the mages to get rid of the ballistas and use te flying machines. A better idea, but a back-up plan is needed for that in case it's protected by some shield magic.

So, after a long 3 hours of deliberation with some of the heroes' input, we decided on a plan: destroy the ballistas with the mages' and magic heroes' attacks.

If that doesn't work, we try sending spies up the wall to disable the ballistas at night. If that doesn't work either, we will start tunneling under to weaken the structure of the walls.

If that takes too long, we will continue that while blocking off their roads. A good plan. Honestly, this isn't about winning anymore, it's about how impatience the military sponsors are.

If Lambert wants the horns quicker, then we have to try to get it quicker. It's the military unwritten code. They paid for our equipment, which means that they own our lives. Well, the soldier's lives at least.

As we start the magic octagon preparation to increase our spell's damage, some soldiers are just loitering around, smoking some cigarettes I sold them or just playing poker.

The amount of men here is astonishing. There are so much men that we could cull half of these men and we would still have an army larger than Gwanya. Granted, they aren't know for their army, but it's still an achievement.

After nearly an hour of preparation, it's almost night being 5:54 p.m. and the first mage casts her darkness spell. The burst of mana rushes towards the ballistas and...bounce off.

It bounces off the ballista, causing the mages to run away like headless chickens. After the mana hits us back, the magic octagon is slightly broken but still working.

So, as one of the strongest mages, I go up. I know that if I used my full power, the ballistas aren't the only thing that we should worry about when I destroy them since probably more than half of the city will be obliterated.

As a half-Phoenix, this is the case. It isn't debatable; I'm too overpowered.

However, from observing some of the other fyr mages, I kind of have a gauge on wha try power should be. For example, if a regular military fyr mage can have a spell that does 10 damage, mine should do at least 40 damage.

Since I want to be an exceptional hero, I choose around 45 or 4.5 times the average mage. That should do it for now.

If they are still suspicious, I can just use the kidnapped excuse. This, of course, isn't planned from the beginning but is more of a freestyle. Go with the flow is the right term I believe.

So, the spell I chose was a modified version of "ray beam". Ray beam, an already powerful and advanced spell, is the perfect spell for this.

"Through the darkness I ignite, through the flames you are made. Come forth, ray beam!"

Even though I could do this spell with my mouth taped together and my tongue cut out, chanting it makes me seem more grounded than I actually am.

Having the admiration of the mages versus the ire ad jealousy of the mages is a different thing, both very similar but not at the same time.

The spell doesn't bounce off the shield magic this time, but instead the shield magic shows a light crack in the air before disappearing back into the night. So I got it...slightly.

"Woahhh...as expected of hero Min-chul..."

"What a skilled mage, I've got to say!"

They all start praising me for my spell casting. What a happy bunch, no? I continue this until the barrier is almost broke and we move onto the next one...

Somewhere near E Mo Zhi Di capital??...

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

In the carriage sat a woman with a cloaked face. She was suffering from almost any disease you could think of, from mental to physical. She had insomnia, she had some food poisoning and to top it all of, she lost her will to live a long, long time ago.

Ever since the humans invaded her land, pillaged her people, took her women and enslaved her men, she knew it was the beginning of the end.

They couldn't take the gold from Gwanya's secret vault since their security is too tight and the other countries will see this as the "wretched demons doing what they do best". She was a demon, but she wasn't wretched.

From what she has seen, the only wretched thing here is how the humans go about their business. They commit mass genocide for what? Profit? Horns?

She won't let them have that, for she has cut her horns off a long, long time ago.

A few months back, she was a royal, she was luxury and she was beauty. Her horns were her most prominent feature. Standing tall at nearly 30 centimeters long with a little curl at the top fading to red, it was beautiful.

Note the word "was". It WAS beautiful, it WAS there. She had them cut off and burned, buried and sealed away, never to be touched by human hands.

The only thing not allowing her to jump off her castle room was her little baby boy named "Abaddon" as a kind of tribute to their founder and godfather, Satan.

Little Abaddon was recently borne just this year and will be celebrating his 7th month being alive soon. She needs to protect this little baby.

She'll never let them take him away and do whatever humans do.
