Hugo Basset

The next morning, Rosé woke up as if nothing had happened and treated me like she always did; with a slight teasing and a serious expression sometimes.

I wryly smile remembering her figure last night, but it quickly leaves my mind as we were having a cup of tea on the rooftop restaurant's cafe.

The Bassets were a table next to us and coincidentally, so were the Whittaker's. They were the owners of the place and so could wander around as they wished.

Rosé was acting extremely friendly to the patriarch of the Whittaker family which incensed Basset even more. One of Basset's sons, Hugo Basset, was a loose cannon and right now, he was about to prove it.

He was feeling that the great patriarch of his family has had his reputation dragged in the mud and it was all because of this stupid Rosé girl. Who even is she? She rides off of the coattails of her father, so what?

Despite the inner criticism of this "Rosé girl", he is forgetting how hypocritical he is. Even then, Rosé improved her father's legacy, what did he do? He was a nobody who didn't even properly socialize as a youngster.

"Hey! Rosé Danlia, you dare drag my great name through the mud!?"

"Haahhh?"

Rosé, a bit confused by the sudden highly pitched voice of Hugo, tilted her head and grimaced at the accusation. Yes, she was bidding, but isn't that the auction?

If nobody bid, then why not just fucking give the horns to the Bassets behind everyone's backs? Is this Hugo really that stupid? Both Rosé, I, the Whittaker and the Basset patriarch though the same thing.

'That Hugo is going to get himself in trouble'

Even though the patriarch of the Basset family was incredibly saddened and be treated and angry at Rosé right now, he won't outrightly accuse them of such a disgusting thing like dragging the Basset name through the mud.

With his loose cannon of a descendant, Basset looks at our table with a fake apologetic look and lets his descendant continue. All in all, it isn't a slap in the face for us either.

This gesture could be seen as giving his descendant's life for his misdeeds. Rosé knows this and wryly smiles at his cold-heartedness.

In Hugo's brain however, he saw that his grandfather wasn't stopping him and decided that it was a smart idea to continue with his tirade on how bad the Danlia family is.

"Yeah? What, nothing to say, bitch? Seriously, why don't the girlies stay at home to cook for us leaders"

'Ahhh, another misogynistic guy. I wonder when these fucks will learn, eh?

Honestly, I don't see myself as a feminism. I just learned to respect women as if they were men from my experience. Women such as Aria, Rosé, Anna and Hana made me realize that women may even be a bit scarier than men.

Who knows? Maybe if I had a different story, I'd be misogynistic as well. It would be interesting to imagine, but it won't happen.

Even though I myself am not an active feminism, I can't say the say for Rosé who literally is the goal for all businesswomen and merchants. Even for some men she is the goal.

"Excuse me? And who are you exactly? I'm the CEO of the largest food producer in the world and you? A goddamn Basset. The Bassets are an honorable name, but looking at you makes me question that"

"Wha- you goddamned tree-hugger! You ride off the back of your daddy and now you are so big in life, aren't you? Tsk, the Danlias are really so useless only producing women. You did your part as a baby-mak-"

SLAP!

Getting fed up with this annoying chatter, I stood up and smacked the little boy across his flabby face. When I made contact, his face made waves like dropping a stone in a calm pond.

Some teeth flew out and were lost, while his nose was bleeding profusely. He was too shocked to even make a noise and as he was moaning on the ground looking for his teeth, I stood up with Rosé.

"Please don't disrespect the good name of Danlia. You may be a Basset, but I don't even know you. This is too disrespectful to the great name of Danlia who provides this country the food it needs"

With my piece being said, Rosé and I stormed out of the restaurant as the bewildered expressions of everyone grew. As we were leaving, Rosé and I remembered to apologize greatly to the Whittaker family patriarch before finally return to our suite.

"Hehehe...so what, Min-chul is now a feminist?"

"No, I'm a bastard is what I am. That will add more doubt in the mind of Basset. He knows why I did what I did, but he'll still feel like he is being disrespected"

"Ahhh, understood understood"

In the restaurant...

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

As the figures of Rosé and her little tomboy passed by me, I let out a wry smile before taking a seat with my wife. Since I was a Lambert, I was given extra service by the waiters.

"W-wha....f-f-father! He sl-slapped me! We must retaliate immediately!"

Hearing the fat boy scream at his parent, I shake my head wryly while my wife looks at his with disdain and clicks her tongue. At this point, out presence was known from my wife's tongue click.

I lightly bow my head and so does my wife, while under the table, I gave her a light pinch on her waist as a small punishment. She pouts, but understands why I did what I did.

The patriarch of the Bassets understands that with Rosé gone, he doesn't need to keep this useless tool alive.

"Retaliation? For what exactly?"

"Wha- they smacked my beautiful face! We must show them the power of your family, great ancestor!"

"Yeah...retaliation"

As soon as he said that, he snapped his fingers to signal the surrounding guard that protected him day and night from assassination attempts.

They picked Hugo by his armpits and even though they were buff and powerful, I'm sure I heard a grunt and a groan from one of the four men carrying the white whale by his limbs.

"Wha- where are you taking me! You won't live until tomorrow unless you put me down this instant, you peasant! I'm a fucking Basse- ARGUHHHHJH!"

They threw off the ledge and watched him fall as he went SPLAT! on the hard stone roads. The distant screaming of women, crying of infants and the panicked yelling of men sounded out from below.

With a cold expression, the patriarch of the Bassets holds his soft yet experienced hand on the shoulder of the father of Hugo, Greg.

"Greg, my boy. You aren't upset?"

"No not at all, great ancestor. He was no son the moment he slandered your great name"

"Then...I'm glad"

He sits back down with a calm expression and right after, one of his guards apologizes for the kerfuffle. I get back to eating my food while thinking.

'If he does that to his own blood, what the hell can he do to Rosé?'
