Chapter 80: Rescuing Team 10.

*Clash of metal*
2 Ninjas were battling in the middle of a clearing. One held a lightning sword on hand, while the other had 2 trench knives coated with chakra. They were Aoi of Akatsuki, and Asuma the sensei of team 10.
But they weren't alone. There were hundreds of bees surrounding them. The bees weren't attacking either of them. They looked as if they were observing the fight.
There were 5 other people in the clearing in two opposite sides.
On one side, a man in Akatsuki's robes and a beekeeper hat stood lazily, as he watched his partner fight with the Konoha Jonin.
And on the opposite side stood 3 newly graduated Genin and an old man. There were traces of fear and trepidation on their faces. Because they felt they might be in bigger trouble than they first anticipated.
They were ordered to retreat a long time ago, but they simply couldn't follow that order. After all, the bees blocked their escape route.
So all they could do was wait, make a new plan, and hope for their Jonin sensei to defeat the enemies.
"Tsk… Troublesome… I don't think we can simply target the beekeeper… He seems nonchalant, but his bees are keeping close eyes on us." Shikamaru told his team in a low voice.
"B-but, sensei can beat that guy, right? Things will be okay, right?" Ino was afraid… She was only a new graduate. Her academy curriculum didn't prepare her for this.
While Choji even forgot to eat his snacks, as he was nervous.
"No… There might be a chance… But this will need all of us working together. The chance of failing is high. But we have no other choice." Shikamaru stated grimly.
His two teammates nodded in understanding.
"So what are we going to do?" Ino asked.
Shikamaru then started explaining his plan.
While this was happening, Aoi and Asuma were locked in a close combat confrontation. Where Asuma had the edge, but couldn't defeat his opponent easily.
"Hahaha, Sarutobi, don't take it personal, but we need to take care of that old man you are escorting. No biggie right?" Aoi mocked Asuma.
Asuma said nothing and continued to fight.
He was at a huge disadvantage, as he was fighting an A rank Ninja while keeping an eye on the other Ninja and his students.
He wasn't confident about escaping with all his students uninjured… That's why he was trying to finish this fight with as less chakra as possible.
This mission… was a total failure…
But the fault didn't lie only with his judgment. The client gave severely wrong intel.
No way was this a simple C rank mission. It's at the very least an upper A rank mission. And knowing the opponents were from that cursed Akatsuki organization. This might as well be an S rank.
[A/N: For those who had forgotten, all the villages know of Akatsuki already. As for Konoha, they had Kakuzu in their custody, courtesy of Mitsu.]
The fight continued, and Asuma was getting desperate, when he received a simple mind message from Ino.
'Smoke in 10.'
He immediately understood the meaning and believed that Shikamaru came up with a plan.
So trusting the mind of a Nara, precisely on the 10th second mark, he got away from Aoi and cast,
A massive amount of gunpowder smoke escaped from Asuma's mouth and spread in the air.
Aoi took caution, but he realized he wasn't the target.
The bees in the air became erratic, and this was the opening Team 10 took. Choji pushed Tazuna down, as he threw explosive Kunais towards the general direction of the beekeeper, and used his body expansion to guard Tazuna.
The Beekeper dodged to the side to avoid the explosive Kunais, which was exactly where Shikamaru wanted him to be.
Seeing her chance, Ino used her
At the same time, Asuma lit his ash in fire, killing most of the bees.
In the moment of confusion, he took hold of the beekeeper and returned near his students, with a chakra blade held on his captive's neck.
"It's over. Stand down Aoi." Asuma said as he kept tight hold on the Beekeeper.
He then addressed his students, "You did well, kids."
They all sighed in relief.
What they pulled off was a risky move, and was only possible due to the suddenness of the maneuvers and their team work.
"Yeah! We did it." Ino cheered. Choji too looked happy, while Shikamaru looked tired, but there was a slight smile on his face.
"Not yet, kids… It's not over until I say so. Keep guard." Asuma lightly scolded them.
"HAHAHAHA, do you think you have won?" Aoi on the other hand, found the situation funny.
Asuma felt something was wrong, and quickly ordered, "Everyone fall back!"
*Burst*
Asuma being a Jonin was able to easily dodge the attack.
But it was too late for the others, as the Beekeeper's body burst in beeswax that covered them and Tazuna. The wax then quickly hardened and bound them on the spot.
"Tsk… Wax Clone…" Asuma gritted his teeth, as sweat started forming on his head.
"That's right. Even though those blasted Aburame's dealt a massive damage to our Kamizuru Clan, we are still one of the strongest clans in Iwa.
And you think some childish tricks can take me down? You must be joking. But I do need to punish you for killing so many of my precious bees." The Beekeeper appeared on a tree branch near them. Leaning on the tree, he looked at them in clear anger.
And again bees started surrounding the team.
'This is bad.' Asuma thought. He was really agitated about the situation. His students and client couldn't move, and he was the only one who could protect them now.
"Why do you want the bridge builder? Who sent you?" He tried his best to buy time and gather intel.
"Does that even matter?" The Beekeeper didn't bother and simply extended his hand and called out.
Alarmed Asuma inhaled air and cast
A whirlwind of wind chakra formed around the team and swept away the stings. But right then Aoi chuckled and said,
"Well, if my partner wants to show his technique, then why should I stay put?"
He threw his umbrella in the air, and shouted "
The Beekeeper again ordered his bees to use the jutsu.
Gritting his teeth, Asuma had no choice but to continuously cast
Without using such a jutsu, he didn't have any other way to protect his students and the client.
But. Things weren't looking good.
'I am running low on chakra… This is bad. I can't fight properly while guarding them…' He was worried now.
And made up his mind to sacrifice himself. He wanted to buy time with one big jutsu, so at least his students could escape.
He quickly made a clone that sliced of parts of the wax that was binding his students.
He then said in a deep voice, "When I use my technique, you will take the client and run. Don't even dare to look back."
"Sensei, but-" Ino wanted to say something, but Asuma interrupted.
"No, Ino, nothing will happen to me. I can't fight properly while protecting you 3. So just run, and believe in your sensei. I will make mincemeat out of them and find you guys." He said with confidence.
He had the skill to back that up. After all, he was one of the strongest Jonins Konoha had to offer. Even if he couldn't beat both of his opponents working together. He had the confidence to injure them enough to escape.
Shikamaru nodded in understanding. And told Ino and Choji to get ready for escape.
"You guys are preparing to escape? Don't mock me." The beekeeper said in disgust, as he made some hand seals. Then bit his finger and slammed his hand on the ground.
"
A massive Bee came into existence and stared directly at Team 10.
"Guard the escape route. Don't let any of them escape." The beekeeper ordered the bee.
Now Team 10 was starting to feel despair. Ino and Choji were terrified, while Shikamaru was frowning and trying to think of a plan.
Asuma, on the other hand, took a deep breath and got on the stance of
If he couldn't help his students escape, then he was going to take his stand here and try to kill his opponents with everything he got.
"I will not let you touch a single hair on my students!" Asuma declared as golden chakra started to cover him. He was ready to put his all into this technique, when everyone heard a gentle voice.
"Indeed, how can I let lowlifes like you harm any of my dear friends?"
Aoi and the Beekeeper looked around to see the source of the voice, but only heard one last thing before they were impaled by sharp roots taking their life.
"
Team 10 and Tazuna watched in awe, as deep green massive thorny vines and shrubs started growing from the ground as they impaled the two Akatsuki members and the giant Queen bee.
Aoi and the Beekeeper were immediately killed. While the Queen Bee was released from the summon. The other bees losing their master simply fled.
Asuma didn't drop his guard, as he didn't know who the newcomer was, but then he heard Shikamaru.
"Wood Release… Only one person has it…"

Ino and Choji seemed to understand the meaning, and Ino shouted in happiness, "MITSU-KUNNNN!"
As if on cue, a figure emerged from the Thick vines. It was Mitsu's wood clone in all its wooden glory.
He looked over his friends and gave them his biggest smile.
"Hey guys! Missed me?"
