Chapter 8: So sweet

The couple invited grandpa Wú in and after listening to Qin Qianyu's explanation they had a better idea who the old man was.

Ouyang Zihan noticed the bag of clothes, she started frowning as they seemed to have multiplied.

"Yu'er, those . . Why does it seem like they've multiplied? Didn't you return them?"

"Ah! Apart from what I got yesterday, the rest are gifts from grandpa Wú for your first meeting."

"Oh!"

Ouyang Zihan muttered, her face a picture of surprise as she had done research on the brand herself and was astonished by the price associated with all the garments.

Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the old man and couldn't help but think,

"Why would he spend millions on clothing!?Could this old man have designs on our little girl?"

Qin Qianyu missed this oddity coming from her mother, she just quickly explained to her parents how grandpa Wú gave these gifts yesterday as a form of accepting her as his one and only disciple and that the others were also from him to her parents as a meeting gift.

"So there you have it, there was no mistake about the price, the money I spent was just to purchase the bags! Can you believe it! 200 yuan just for a plastic bag!"

The couple nodded dumbly. She then showed her parents the site promoting the studio she joined and explained to them how grandpa Wú is the Master of the school which even teaches the military its variation of the Wú arts.

After saying as much, Qin Qianyu excused herself to start making dinner for everyone.

As she entered the kitchen she asked her parents to entertain grandpa Wú. She left her parents to entertain this martial arts master that had taken their daughter as his one and only disciple.

"Elder, thank you for taking care of our Yu'er, she's had quite the spell of misfortunes as of late."

"Hoho, not at all, she's a delightful handful haha. Especially this morning, she was a little bastar . . Ah "blessing" hoho!"

Grandpa Wú quickly corrected himself.

Even though he was chuckling, his eyes flash with a dangerous light as he recalled how he became his disciples acupuncture test dummy.

" . . . "

"Oh okay,"

Qin Qianyu heard her master and rolled her eyes when she caught on to him covertly cursing her.

The adults chatted away harmoniously while Qin Qianyu got busy in the kitchen. Less than an hour later the dishes made their way to the table.

After everyone was seated, they all waited patiently for grandpa Wú to start eating first before everyone else did.

"Xiaoyu, forget learning Wú arts, open a restaurant instead! Others will be lining up around the entire city to protect you so they could have one more bite of your food."

"Hehe! You . . Since when has your mouth been so sweet!?"

" . . . "

Cough! Cough!

"Yu'er, that's . . "

"Hmm? Father?"

"Yu'er saying that to your master is . . "

"Oh haha, it's fine, it's fine mother, once you get to know grandpa Wú, you'll realise that he's also a "little blessing" too, isn't that right Master?"

Qin Qianyu stated matter of factly. With her eyebrows cocked and her lips pursed.

Grandpa Wú chuckled at the provocation then his eyes changed,

"It seems that today's training was a little too light, you seem to have a lot of spare energy!"

"Haha, it's because I'm not old!"

"Cough! Cough! Cough!

"Hohoho!"

"Hehehe!"

Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan where beside themselves watching the banter between the Master and disciple pair.

The way the pair spoke to each other was more like a hissy fit between two 6 year olds rather than master and disciple.

On the surface it looked innocent, but was totally antagonistic, and to outside ears it could cause misunderstandings to appear.

Soon the strange and ambiguous atmosphere returned to its harmonious beginnings.

Everyone enjoyed the food and after the meal they all sat down to tea, fruits and meaningful conversations.

This left a lasting impression on grandpa Wú, and as the evening wore on grandpa Wú asked Qin Qianyu to call him a taxi.

A while later a message came. The taxi was ready and waiting downstairs.

"Mr Qin, Mrs, Ouyang, thank you very much for the hospitality and meal."

"You are most welcome Elder Wú, please don't be a stranger to our home."

"Since that's the case, please call me uncle Wú from now on,"

"Ah! Yes, uncle Wú. Yu'er, help see your Master off for us."

"Got it, grandpa Wú, I packed a snack pack for you since I'm your best disciple."

"Your my only disciple!"

" . . . "

"Come on, I'll see you off."

"Mhm, goodnight once again."

"Take care Uncle Wú."

"Come back anytime Uncle Wú."

Qin Qianyu led grandpa Wú downstairs and saw him off.

"Good night Grandpa Wú, I'll see you in the morning."

"Mhm, go back, have a good rest . . . Xiaoyu,"

"Hmm!?"

"Thank you for tonight. It's been so long since I've enjoyed a meal like that."

"Hehe, anytime Grandpa Wú, If you're feeling lonely in the evenings just come on by. As your disciple you should know that these words aren't empty."

"Smelly child who said I'm lonely?"

"Oh thats right! How could I have forgotten! You have BEE's to keep you company."

Hmph! . . Go back or stay here forever!"

"Hehe, go go, goodnight."

"Mhm,"

Qin Qianyu watched the taxi drive away and didn't return home until the taxi was nowhere insight.

Qin Qianyu went home with a smile on her face as did grandpa Wú. He hadn't felt so satisfied for such a long time.

The simple meal and company warmed his tired old heart to no end. His disciple and her family left a great and lasting impression on him.

Thinking of this, his mind started to wander back in time. His smile slowly left his face as he thought about his own family.

He let out a slight sigh as he stared out the window watching the city scape flash by.

Qin Qianyu washed herself and put on a fresh set of pyjamas then sorted out what she need for school the following day and actually went to sleep as soon as her head hit her pillow.

Her body and mind were exhausted. As she slept, a new post on the schools forum posted earlier in the day had blown up and was still gaining traction.

It was a video, in it, faces and names were blurred and beeped out except for one. Murong Mei.

The title of the post was Shameless harlot and white lily exposed.

The video made reference to Qin Qianyu's incident and from the recorded conversations, this had basically labeled Meimei as the culprit behind the attack on Qin Qianyu.

When this was made known, those that knew the two were friends, the post and everyone's insinuations actually exposed Meimei as a two faced dog.

Qin Qianyu had no idea, even if she did, she wouldn't have cared anyway. She had a goal that she needed to concentrate on and for the time being, her plans didn't involve Meimei at this juncture.

Early the next morning, Qin Qianyu had a quick wash to get rid of the sleep in her eyes before changing into active wear and started her breathing exercise.

When she was done an hour later, she packed her uniform and the things she had prepared last night for school and headed out the door towards the studio.

She decided to forgo the morning jog at the park so that she could focus more on the move set taught to her by her master yesterday.

"I better not do any training from any of those books master gave me, least I enter a state of enlightenment again and miss school altogether. I'll just stick the Wú arts during the week and the other two techniques during the weekends and breaks."

She told herself as she started to practice by herself. After an hour of practice, Qin Qianyu washed up and changed into her school uniform.

"Oh leaving already? Come have some breakfast first."

Qin Qianyu was stopped by her master. He made breakfast for them both while she was training.

"Ah! Alright, there's plenty of time before the gates close."

"Mhm, come, let's eat."

The old man smiled as he and Qin Qianyu sat down to eat.

The morning was filled with idle chit chat and good food. Breakfast was over in around 20 minutes.

"Alright, get going. If you're late, then have the school call me. I'll take responsibility."

"Hehe, I should be fine grandpa Wú, I'll use my period as an excuse, it's more convincing than a random old guy."

"Random your head! . . I'm your master you're my disciple!"

"I know that! But the school will just think of you as some old guy that I possibly paid off."

"Hmph! Get! Go go!"

"Haha, I'm off."

Qin Qianyu headed to school from the studio. Upon entering the gate she quickly notice a few gazes on her as she walked to her home room.

"The hell!? What's with everyone? . . Oh right! the "I'm so poor" post Meimei put up, damn! Don't these people have a life?"

Qin Qianyu complained internally. She didn't care about their thoughts, but their stares were starting to creep her out a little.

She found her home room and settled down at her seat. She subconsciously looked to where Meimei sat but the seat was empty.

Qin Qianyu had no idea about the bomb that had landed on Meimei.

She had already severed ties with her and that was all that mattered for the time being. Once she established herself she would then strike out against Meimei and make her pay heavily for what she had done to her.

The bell rang and the school day officially started. As the day went on she noticed that Meimei hadn't come to class.

The other students whispered amongst their cliches and would cast a sidewards glance at her periodically.

At lunch nothing major happen, Qin Qianyu took the opportunity to head toward the library and make the most of this resource for all it was worth.

To the other students, they took this as a sign of Qin Qianyu wanting to hide in plain sight.

The day ended. Qin Qianyu felt exhausted. She found the experience of coming back to school tedious and a waste of time but, because of her goal to enter Zhishi, she kept reminding herself to endure it for now because it would only last for at most, three months.

As she was heading home she realised why Meimei hadn't come to school. She laughed to herself and thought the former friend lucky to escape her clutches. But in all seriousness she didn't care as she was able to keep tabs on her thanks to her upgraded laptop when and if need be.

And just like that, an entire month from that day became routine for Qin Qianyu.

Every morning she would head out to the studio, do her training there, wash up and head to school.

Since Murong Meimei's named became a stain, she transferred to a different school to an Aunt in another city.

Because of that, Qin Qianyu's school days were very peaceful.
