Chapter 39: Stolen goods.

Qin Qianyu knew nothing of the happenings at court, nor did she care, her thoughts were now preoccupied and placed elsewhere, far from there.

Her top two priorities we're finding a way to combine her future knowledge with her current learnings of ancient science to find a cure for grandpa Wú.

The other, was to study for the upcoming SIC competition in just over a months time.

She was sitting in a private room inside the library, her table stacked with books related to chemotherapeutic solutions, Radioactivity, nuclear theory and several fictional stories about ancient cultivators and medical genius that refine pills, as well as a few transmigration novels.

She wanted to absorb as much information as she could be it science fiction or science fact, and her current thinking extended way pass the norm.

"With current technology and medical means, removing radiation poisoning from Grandpa Wú is nonexistent. But, he's lived this long with it, and I've come back from the dead, I've time travelled to the past and my current body and skill sets belong in cartoons. I don't believe that I can't fix Grandpa Wú."

Qin Qianyu thought to herself

"The increase in white blood cells is a good sign, a good dose of potassium iodide could swallow and bind a majority of the radioactive iodine in his body, Hmm radiogardase could protect the cells from further absorption"

Qin Qianyu was so absorbed in her reading, she failed to notice that there was another person in the room with her.

It wasn't till a second person entered that she managed to look up from her books.

"Oh! Hey you're both here!"

" . . . "

Wen Wú Ling gave a sidewards stare, she had come early but Qin Qianyu never broke her own concentration so Wen Wú Ling started reading the novels that were on the table.

Lu Mingxi however looked really flustered, it was obvious that she ran to get here early too.

"Mingxi! Sit down quick,"

"I better not . . I may not get back up."

"You should work on your stamina, I jog every morning if you want to tag along,"

"Are you low key saying I'm fat?"

" . . . "

Lu Mingxi asked with a shocked look as she squeezed her waist and hips.

Wen Wú Ling and Qin Qianyu only shook their heads, they both had the same thoughts,

"You need to eat more not less!"

Lu Mingxi huffed, Qin Qianyu made her sit down. She went behind the tired girl and started manipulating certain points while she massaged Lu Mingxi.

The ruddy complexion returned to normal within a brief period, then Qin Qianyu did the same with Lu Mingxi's legs.

"Oh my! You're really making it easy for me to go Lala you know that? . . How do you even know how to do all of these?"

Lu Mingxi asked nonchalantly as she and her muscles enjoyed the attention they were both receiving.

"I brought a book on effective massage techniques for pregnant woman,"

Qin Qianyu mumbled as she continued working her hands on Lu Mingxi's tired calf's. She soon felt Lu Mingxi tensing up.

"So you were saying I'm fat!"

" . . . "

Wen Wú Ling sat there, lips twitching and her facial muscles trying hard to relax and not follow suit with her lips.

She couldn't stand it any longer and coughed in order to interrupt the pair. They turned to look at Wen Wú Ling and saw her sour face.

"Am I blinding the two of you? . . Can you two still see me? Why aren't you blinded by me?"

Wen Wú Ling complained. Qin Qianyu cocked an eyebrow as she muttered,

"Huh!?"

Lu Mingxi followed up as well,

"I can see you, I'm not blinded!"

Hearing the two girls reply seemed to have made Wú Ling worst as she exclaimed,

"Then why are the two of you treating me as a damn lightbulb!? I even came first!"

"Bahahaha!"

Qin Qianyu soon started laughing, she realised that Wen Wú Ling was a little jealous of Lu Mingxi getting attention from her as soon as she arrived where as Wen Wú Ling had sat quietly and patiently since she got here.

"Come on let's go, I'll make dinner tonight extra delicious just for you okay?"

The girls left the private room inside the library. Qin Qianyu paid extra to use the room for the entire week that way she didn't need to keep returning and retrieving the books she wanted, they could just stay in the private room.

The girls went to the market and bought many things, mostly ingredients for dinner, Lu Mingxi and Wen Wú Ling went off to buy the things they needed as well as extra gifts for Qin Qianyu's parents seeing as they would soon be dining with them.

With their arms filled with shopping bags the trio piled into a taxi and headed back to Qin Qianyu's home.

No one was home when the girls arrived, so they entertained each other. Qin Qianyu got busy making dinner, Lu Mingxi decorated her desserts and Wen Wú Ling prepared the fruits.

"Right, so why were you in court today? What happened?"

Lu Mingxi asked,

"Well, it's like this . . . "

Wen Wú Ling explained Qin Qianyu's jogger park stalker experience and how she herself was saved from the guy, then she dropped the bombshell and revealed to Lu Mingxi that, that guy is also her brother and also the guy in the photos on the schools forum.

Lu Mingxi subconsciously folded her arms over her breasts when Wen Wú Ling spoke about her perverted brother and even gave Wen Wú Ling a stink eye,

"Your head! I'm not like him!"

Wen Wú Ling retorted upon seeing Lu Mingxi's actions and what she was implying.

"Anyway there you have it, today, mother and I dragged my stupid brother to court to make sure he got punished."

Wen Wú Ling filled them both in on what had happened, she didn't leave out a single detail.

"Haa, still, it's still nothing compared to what I did, maybe I should go to court too?"

Lu Mingxi sighed and mumbled, what she did to Qin Qianyu that day was still eating away at her,

Qin Qianyu saw this and patted the poor girls shoulder,

"Alright that's enough of that now, everyone's paid what was owed so no more okay!"

"Mhm,"

Lu Mingxi smiled and nodded. The girls carried on with what they were doing and chatted with each other happily while doing so.

Soon Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan arrived home to a house filled with young voices and laughter.

They were both pleasantly surprised and it was a welcoming sight to come into such a lively home, and to know it was theirs.

Seeing the great change in Qin Qianyu since she cut ties with Murong Meimei was the greatest thing to have happened to their little family.

Qin Qianyu introduced the two girls to her father, they then presented gifts to both of Qin Qianyu's parents after which Qin Qianyu told them to wash up and get ready for dinner.

The two adults ambled into their room with both arms filled with gifts speechlessly.

They were surprised because the gifts weren't just for the two of them, they also included the baby inside Ouyang Zihan's stomach.

All of the gifts for the baby were gender neutral and they also included gift cards for various baby outlets and franchises that could be used once baby QingQing was born.

Ouyang Zihan became emotional and broke out in tears. Since being pregnant, she found that her emotions would trigger at the smallest of gestures or words. Qin Haoran smiled warily as he comforted his wife before the pair went to go wash up.

After the meal and desserts the adults left Qin Qianyu to her friends and turned in for the evening.

The girls talked about nothing in particular, then the conversation turned to the subject matter of the books Qin Qianyu had out in the private booth of the library.

"Since you don't have to go to school, why the heck are you still going to the library? Do you need help getting into another middle school? I can help, I'll even transfer to that school with you!"

Lu Mingxi asked excitedly, then added,

"Did you know that I always wanted to make friends with you? We were in the same class for a year, but then the whole thing with my mother happened, then when I came back, you had skipped classes and ended up in the year above in Murong Meimei's class."

Qin Qianyu was shocked to hear that, after thinking back some more she remembered that Lu Mingxi was indeed in the same class as her before she skipped classes.

She remembered that Lu Mingxi at that time was more timid and shy back then.

"Sorry, Mingxi, I didn't know, but, aren't we friends now? And regarding school, I'll be moving to the capital in a few weeks so I won't need to find a school here."

"What! . . Why does this feel like déjà vu? First you skip classes now you're skipping cities!"

The mood changed somewhat, Qin Qianyu explained that she along with Wen Wú Ling will be entering Zhishi university together in the coming semester.

Lu Mingxi felt a certain emptiness within her when Qin Qianyu explained her plans in detail to her.

"Oh, so even if I wanted, I still can't follow, I'm not cleaver enough, I don't have those kind of smarts, but, I wonder if there's a design school close to Zhishi? Just because we can't be at the same school, doesn't mean we can't be in the same city!"

Qin Qianyu liked how the young girl turned a possible negative into a positive in a blink of an eye. She smiled brightly and nodded in sincere acknowledgement,

Lu Mingxi pulled up her portfolio that she had stored on a server with all her designs saved to it.

She wanted to know what they thought of her designs and if it would be enough for her to get into a design school in the capital.

She told the girls her inspiration came from her mother mostly, but she stopped because of what her mother did. Lu Mingxi then stored her drawings away and hadn't designed anything since.

Wen Wú Ling asked why. After a while, Lu Mingxi revealed that her mother ran off with a young designer from Secondhand, the dress that she had shown on the post that Murong Meimei had made was a farewell gift so to speak from her mother.

"You mean your mother abandoned you and your sister for another man?"

"Mhm, and father also, she left all of us to follow her dream of being a famous designer, haha."

Qin Qianyu now understood why Lu Mingxi had acted out and was trying to protect her elder sister, it's because of what her own mother had done. Her mother had broken their family, Qin Qianyu was seen as doing the same thing in Lu Mingxi's eyes.

Wen Wú Ling broke the awkwardness in the room then turned excitedly to Lu Mingxi,

"Renshi! Renshi University is famous for their school of design!"

"You could enter Renshi if you win the Ouxiang Up competition and win the highest award, entry into the school of design 4 months from now,"

Wen Wú Ling detailed the competition for the two girls, in a way it was similar to SIC but for those of the creative sector like fashion design and idols and such.

"And look! You even have a model sitting right next to you! And my eldest brother is very tall and handsome too if you need a male model!"

"Does this brother also like going to jogging parks?"

Qin Qianyu quipped, Wen Wú Ling twisted her face and answered,

"Don't lumps us two together with our stupid middle brother, besides, Eldest brother is in the military, he is a man of honour and integrity, anyway, if I ask him I'm sure he'll agree to it,"

It started getting late so the girls decided to meet another time and discuss Lu Mingxi's options and their future plans then.

Qin Qianyu saw them both off and headed to bed to rest up.

Lazing on her bed, Qin Qianyu was playing with her phone when suddenly,

[FILTHY SWINE! Were are the damn goods you promised!? Give my money back you swindler!]

An angry message came through demanding Qin Qianyu give them an explanation as to where their goods were and why they hadn't arrived.

Soon, several more messages flooded her phone, they all came from people claiming to not having received their goods as promised.

Qin Qianyu was shocked and realised that the aggrieved customers came from the same city.

"Evergreen city!?"

She quickly did some research and came to a certain conclusion,

She sent them all a message stating her findings and provided evidence of this and came up with the conclusion that the sent goods had been stolen from the courier dispatch.

Qin Qianyu made assurances that they would all get their goods by the next day.

She quickly went online and and booked a train ticket to Evergreen City that evening.

She made a list of the stolen goods and who ordered what, packed what she needed into a backpack and left her home under the cover of darkness.

Wearing her BF cloak minus the Fox mask, she pulled the hood right over hiding her features as she boarded the train and found her seat.

Because it was a late evening train, most of the other passengers were labouring workers from small villages that had to come into the city to work.

As the train left for Evergreen, there were 27 stops before it reached her destination.

She didn't rest during her hour journey, rather, she started working and contacted a certain person using her in4mer account she never thought she'd ever need to contact.

It was her hacker friend from her former life, Photonics.

[Im in need of your services, what's your price?]

Qin Qianyu sat there waiting for a reply, she didn't know if this person was actually active. Going by the timeline of her former life, she wouldn't meet them for another 7-8 years.

Meanwhile, in a hotel room, the sounds of keyboard clicks and quick trappings echoed in the quiet room.

Soon all tapping sounds stopped as they were interrupted by the message that came up on their screen.

[Im in need of your services, what's your price?]

Her phone buzzed and Qin Qianyu got excited.

"To busy, find someone else? Tsk! This guy!"

[there's no one.]

[Im not lying, I'm desperate!]

"Prick!"

Qin Qianyu muttered, she was trying to think of a way to get their attention and help.

Unfortunately nothing came to mind. She left it at that and thought nothing more about it.

"Forget it, I'll find another way,"

Qin Qianyu thought to herself. A few moments later she was coming into Evergreen station. Qin Qianyu pulled out her phone and sent all of the purchasers a message.

She told them all to head to a certain location and she would personally deliver the goods there and they could pick up their orders from there at their convenience.

The location she gave was a set of pay to use lockers, she would send the unlock code for each locker to the buyers for them to collect their goods.

Luckily for her the city was only an hour away by train and the location for the pay to use lockers were at that very station.
