The garden was a delight to be in. It was easy for one to lose their sense of worries and find themselves a happy place to relax the mind.
It still hadn't settled in fully for the couple.
They were still coming to terms that all of this now belonged to them.
They soon found a spot under a large tree and Qin Qianyu gave them an account of what they own.
"The property size is 1373 square meters. A 20 meter high fences off the entire section with trees used as camouflage to blend with the natural aesthetic's of the property."
"On the other side is a herbal garden that I had built as well for my research. It's accessible from near my lab."
Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan just got over the house and the garden and now they've been told the property on the other side belongs to them also.
"Speaking of which, why did you build a lab here? Isn't it dangerous?"
"I've put in safety measures, it won't be accessible to any of you unless I'm there. As for why I built it. It was so I didn't have to spend all my time at the campus labs, I could come home and do my assignments."
"You really thought of everything, I really don't have to worry about you . . . But I'm now a little worried for myself, it's like I'm too dumb to be your father,"
Qin Qianyu snapped back straight away a little mad at what her father just said,
"Father, mother, I'm like this because of you two. Everything you have taught me over the years is all I've been implementing. Please don't speak like this anymore,"
Qin Qianyu's phone started chiming out, It was an added feature that Mr Chi recommend.
The front camera and doorbell was linked to an app on the phone so that if you were away from your house like in the garden, the camera on the front door would then show up on your phone.
She looked and saw it was a delivery. She went to the frontdoor and signed for the packages and led them to the back where her laboratory was stationed.
These were the equipment she had bought from SIC.
She started setting up all of her equipment straight away.
The adults stood amazed watching her setting up all of the complex and complicated looking machinery like a pro.
They were astonished by how she went about doing her thing easily, like she was breathing.
"Do you need any help?"
"Oh! Ahh, nope! I've got things covered. You guys can go check out the rest of the house or just relax. This is our home now so whatever you want to do, just do it!"
Qin Qianyu said with a smile. The adults left her to it and went about doing their own things.
Ouyang Zihan wanted to cook a special meal to mark the occasion so she and Qin Haoran went to do some grocery shopping.
Grandpa Wú went out to do some business since he was in the capital so he followed Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan and parted from them midway.
"Just need one more component then I'll be able start work on a suppressor for Grandpa Wú."
Qin Qianyu mumbled after setting up a vast majority of her lab. She was satisfied with how it looked and how it turned out.
She had finish setting a while ago and in the interim she had started to make a concoction made up with the chemicals that she had ordered.
Not only that, she made a few more items taken from the pages of the apothecary book.
She opened the vault and went to the bio safe where she kept the book.
She wanted to find a more secure way to keep it safe. She decided to place countermeasures on it just in case.
The book would be extremely troublesome if she lost it or it was stolen.
She came in with several items in her hand. One was a batch of quickfire.
This came from a recipe she had developed in her former life after someone had successfully infiltrated the lab at Song pharmaceuticals with the intentions of stealing her research.
If the book was taken without clearing this countermeasure then the book along with everything else in the bio safe and possibly the vault would go up in fire.
Qin Qianyu held her breath and planted it with the most extreme care.
And in the outer area she placed anaesthetic powder that inoculates the senses that leads to paralysis of all motor functions.
She placed a pill in her mouth and sucked on it slowly. This pill countered the effects of the powder keeping her safe.
However, if anyone else tries to sneak in it'll be bye bye legs, arms and possibly breath.
"This will do for now I guess. After a while I'll set up something more sophisticated."
A week went by. A lot of things had happened during that time.
In the new Qin home, the six of them moved in without problems.
Both Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan handed in their resignations then they treated all of their friends and former co workers with a farewell dinner and showered them with gifts and red packets.
Grandpa Wú had Lin Xie deliver all of their belongings that was kept in storage to their new home. He on the other hand only took a few personal items with him as Qin Qianyu had already furnished the courtyard.
Along with the transportation of all the Qin's personal belongings, Bai Saan was moved and transported by AAC and their partners.
Qin Qianyu had to pay a small fee as Bai Saan spooked the other animals so much that they couldn't stop dedicating inside the transporter.
The smell that wafted out when the doors were opened turned her parents wretched when he was delivered.
Qin Qianyu washed him several times over as the odours had soaked into his fur.
Bai Saan seemed to like the new area. As soon as he was let out the back, he went about marking his territory with gusto.
She had had a talk about granny Liu moving in too, however, this didn't go down too well with Qin Haoran. It seem inappropriate to him to have his new wife and his dead wife's mother living under the same roof.
Ouyang Zihan had mixed feelings too and it made the rest of the dinner a little awkward and uncomfortable.
Qin Qianyu noted Ouyang Zihan's glum look,
She recalled a heated argument that had taken place one time. Granny Liu had made several accusations that Ouyang Zihan was a horrible woman and step mother to Qin Qianyu.
There were several more instances of this happening which caused granny Liu to dislike and outright hate Ouyang Zihan.
Thinking of all this made Qin Qianyu mad at herself, because she was the cause of the tensions between them.
"I really have to make this right, just give me a little more time."
Another thing that had happened that really pissed Qin Qianyu off was that many groups started popping up in Cheng Yifei's name.
All of these groups claimed to be charity organisations but soon it was discovered that these were all greedy con groups using the grief and momentum Cheng Yifei's video and death had made to line their own pockets with the outpouring of donations from the public.
There were a few groups that were genuinely collecting donations in Cheng Yifei's name that were caught up in all of this.
One of those honest organisers was caught and beaten by another group of people. But what was weird was that the people in that group of attackers hadn't even donated to his organisation collecting donations.
The excuse they gave when caught was that they saw the one they had beaten with the same lens as the dishonest groups.
This then caused the poor girls name to become "mud" in a lot of people's ears and eyes.
Soon, anything that had to do with Cheng Yifei caused the public's ire because they had been scammed out of their money by many of these groups.
What made it worse was that rumours started making the rounds claiming that many of these groups were organised by Cheng Yifei's father himself to pocket the money.
Mr Chen made a statement claiming to have worked with a few charitable organisations.
He had done his homework on them and found that the money they had collected during other collection drives had been put to great use for the public and those in need.
Yet after it was proven that Mr Cheng had sent the people's money to hospitals that catered to children and other such organisations, many in the media and the public still kept saying that he had pocketed the money himself.
To Qin Qianyu, It didn't make sense.
Fed up, Qin Qianyu had Su Yin make some enquires. It had taken a few days for her to collect this information and after she had all the details Su Yin called immediately.
What she had found out was that all of those media outlets and a majority of the people's claims and even the people that had attacked the honest organisation leader and his workers all had one solid commonality,
They all had strong ties and relationships with the Chen siblings and their family.
"You clowns would actually go this far for your own reputations! . . How dare you two stupid siblings! You have involved innocents and have needlessly snowballed this into something it didn't have to be."
Qin Qianyu said to herself when she ended the call she had gotten from Su Yin.
Qin Qianyu grumbled to herself as she walked into the police station where her interview with PIT would take place.
"Yu'er?"
"Oh, I'm fine, its nothing I can't deal with."
"Mhm, alright. And don't worry about the interview either, both your mother and I are here."
The investigations were still ongoing, those wanting the entire mess dealt with quickly were shot down immediately with a majority wanting it done methodically and without leaving any stone unturned.
The powers that be were determined to weed out all of the undesirable elements that had come to the surface thanks to Qin Qianyu's live stream.
Qin Qianyu made herself known then a few moments later a man aged in his mid 20s came to collect her and her parents.
"Oh! It's really you! I didn't think we'd met ever again? . . "
Qin Qianyu looked at the man with a puzzled expression.
She looked him up and down. She noted his facial features at first glance. His eyes caught her attention as they were almond shaped and coloured. His eyebrows thick and full, his nose was broad, and his lips were thin.
His face shape as well as his body was well defined and kept in good order.
"I think I would have remembered a good looking fellow in a uniform, I don't know which is more of a pity! The fact that I'm young, or the fact that you're old!"
" . . . "
"Ah sir, please forgive my daughter, she's still young."
"That's fine, what I meant was that I had to investigate that stalker student, his computer was littered with your photos."
"I see, I don't know much about that or him but okay, so shall we being with what I came here to do?"
"Of course, please follow me."
The PIT investigator smiled brightly and said as he led the trio into an office.
Even he almost became a little obsessed over Qin Qianyu's photos during the investigations, he did know her name but didn't put them together as being the same person till he went out to meet her just now.
He had just blurted out what he said because he was surprised to see her in the flesh.
Inside were several others. These people were the senior officers of this station as well as members of PIT.
Qin Qianyu sat opposite them with both her parents flanking her sides. After introductions the interview commenced.
"Miss Qin, thank you for your time. This is an official investigation so I ask that you recall everything that you remember and be truthful in your answers. As you know, this isn't just about the corruption that has come to the surface, it also involves the harmful attack and subsequent death of a student."
"I understand."
"I don't know Cheng Yifei personally, I've only come into contact with her three times. Before she collapsed, after she collapsed and at the morgue."
Qin Qianyu started by detailing how she first came into contact with Cheng Yifei.
She notice several frowns on the faces of the stations people. Some of the PIT members also looked at each other confusingly.
"Seems like the siblings have given a different statement to mine. They really want this to get out of hand."
Qin Qianyu thought to herself. She acted as if she didn't notice their slight reactions to what she was saying as she continued.
She told how she had overheard Cheng Yifei telling Chen Yongqing that he shouldn't had provoked them and how he felt that she had embarrassed him.
Then she followed up with how the rest of that incident went and what had transpired after.
"So why did you follow Chen Yongqing? I'll be frank, your story and his don't match up at all! It seems like you're trying hard to place him in something he wasn't apart of! Do you have another agenda here Miss Qin?"
Qin Qianyu looked to the man that spoke. He was one of the officials from the station.
Members of PIT looked at him questioningly, Qin Qianyu sneered in her heart at how this guy was trying harder with his own agenda.
"Agenda you say? . . I'm just here to cooperate with the investigation. I thank you for pointing that out as now I'm sure PIT will do their utmost in figuring out which of us has been truthful, otherwise, how could they dare call themselves members of PIT."
The official soon realised his mistake. He seemed too absorbed into deflecting trouble away for Chen Yongqing that he had now inadvertently placed him in the midst of it all.
She continued telling the events of that day and how she had reunited Dr Cao and his son as well as finding the unconscious Cheng Yifei.
Then she went into the next day and how she attended the first competition and how she had completed the test at around 40 minute.
She then added that Professor Zhao was the head Invigilator for that test.
Then she went into the day after and how she had been flagged as having cheated and that she had to find the person who had flagged her if she wanted to sort it out.
She told them how in her search she had run into a hometown friend and how they had eventually found adjudicator Chen with teacher Mu's help and that she had given her a time and place to meet with vice principal Zhao.
She explained that the live stream was to safe guard herself as none of what was happening made sense.
She spoke of the revelation that her hometown friend and Cheng Yifei were friends and that's how they ended up at the morgue when they both went to visit her in hospital.
Then she further explained what had occurred inside the morgue.
The police offical looked at Qin Qianyu angrily, she had now placed the siblings with the dead girl which wasn't mentioned before,
"And why did they leave?"
"I told them to fuck off . . . "
Qin Qianyu looked the offical in the eye with the same disgust she had for the Chen siblings after a slight pause, she continued.
"Since neither of them wanted to be there."
Qin Qianyu told them how they were both complaining about having to sit with "a dumb dead bitch" and why they should have to keep her company.
"Thank you Miss Qin, if we need to get in contact with you again, please do make yourself available."
"No problem."
Qin Qianyu and her parents left the office, the man from earlier led them out.
"Yi ma, what's with your face? You look like a tomato!"
"Oh ah, Senior, it's nothing just a little hot from being in that office."
"Oi, when we're outside of base use proper terms, it's commander!"
"Ah, sorry commander."
"Mhm, alright, get the locals to help me with this will you."
As Qin Qianyu and her parents were leaving, she saw someone in the corner of her eye.
"Shit! The handsome wolf is here too!?"
She readjusted herself to make it less obvious that she had recognised him as he spoke to Yi Ma, the man that led her and her family out.
Then she frowned when she saw who he was holding,
"Teacher Mu?"
He was in handcuffs his face was beaten and he was shouting incoherently as if he was drugged or drunk.
"Mingyu! Get Mingyu! Now!"
"Mingyu!? . . Why?"
Teacher Mu was shoved to the back into a detox cell. Qin Qianyu couldn't get to him and question him further.
"I can't go in and see him, . . But the Fox can!"
