Chapter 74: Heroes and Villains.

As Qin Qianyu paced a trench into the stations waiting area, minutes turned to hours.

Qin Qianyu was starting to worry for real now so she called Mingyu over and over but she couldn't get through.

"What the heck happened? Shouldn't they be back by now?"

Suddenly a loud voice bellowed out at Qin Qianyu. She was so shocked by the uniformed man's outburst directed at her it caused her to fall on her butt.

"Did I over embellish my act?"

"You! I don't care who you are or why you're here but I've had enough! You pacing around like this is causing the shit smell coming from you to waft up my nostrils every 5 seconds! Get out of this station! Your stench is offensive to my nose."

Suddenly another voice joined in as the man finished his tirade at a bewildered Qin Qianyu.

"Well you look how she smells! I'll tell you now, It's very offensive to my eyes but you don't see me shouting and screaming or making a scene about it!"

The man looked around angrily til he saw who had spoken. He quickly changed his attitude and adopted a more subservient demeanour.

"Ah . . I . . My deepest apologies commander for offending your eyes,"

" . . . "

The person that had spoken up for Qin Qianyu was exactly Xiao Yixuan, Commander of PIT.

Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan were relieved to see this.

They were both shocked at the Officer and were about to intervene, but the pair were beaten to the punch by Xiao Yixuan.

Xiao Yixuan helped Qin Qianyu up not minding the smell of chicken manure at all and asked her why she was here again,

"Some lady, Miss fox, I think? I'm not sure! She said for me to come here to this station and wait for my friend. She said the Mingyu was kidnapped by bad people, she said to come here and that Mingyu would be here, I've been waiting for a long time and Mingyu isn't here and then that bully came over and started shouting at me to leave because I smell like shit, but I came straight from gardening when the lady called so I didn't wash up and I didn't want to leave yet because Mingyu isn't here yet and I'm still waiting and, and, and,"

Xiao Yixuan stood there amazed and in shock as Qin Qianyu spoke in a single breath nonstop and almost to the point of hyperventilating.

Just hearing a few keywords Xiao Yixuan was able to piece together what must have happened.

The Phantom Fox had contacted Qin Qianyu because she and Mingyu are close friends and that considering the nature of what could had happened, being with someone close would be good for them mentally.

She calmed Qin Qianyu down, and told her that Mingyu was here now and that she's free to go.

Lu Mingyu and Qin Qianyu soon met each other's eyes and Qin Qianyu ran to her in a blubbering mess.

Lu Mingyu didn't seem to mind the smell coming off Qin Qianyu as the pair hugged.

Xiao Yixuan saw this and felt relieved and happy for Lu Mingyu.

"Miss Xiao, we meet again. Thank you for sticking up for our Yu'er. If she weren't in the garden today I don't think this would have happened. But thank you none the less."

"It's fine, no thanks needed or necessary."

Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan gave their thanks to Xiao Yixuan for her intervention then met up with the two girls.

"Sorry about the smell Mingyu, Yu'er came straight from the garden as soon as she got the call and we came right away so she didn't have a chance to wash up."

Qin Qianyu felt a flood of guilty sweat, running down her back as her father solidified her little white lie to not only the commander but also to her friend.

Lu Mingyu also felt extremely guilty that she had made the family wait for her so long.

Qin Qianyu turned and ran back to Xiao Yixuan offering her a polite bow before thanking her for taking care of Lu Mingyu and for helping her out just then.

Xiao Yixuan smiled and led them all out of the station.

The four of them left the station and headed back to Qin Qianyu's home.

Lu Mingyu's eyes went wide when she saw their home. She really wasn't expecting it to be so grand.

"They seemed to have hidden their wealth rather deeply. They must be some hidden family or similar."

Lu Mingyu thought, misunderstanding the Qin's entire financial and family situation.

Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan offered to keep Lu Mingyu company while Qin Qianyu washed up.

Qin Qianyu shook her head and uttered,

"It's been a rough day for everyone and a good soak will do us both some good."

Qin Qianyu says as she took Mingyu with her and the pair washed up and soaked in the large bath together.

Lu Mingyu had left her bag at the hotel so seeing that she and Lu Mingyu where about the same, Qin Qianyu shared her clothes with her.

"This feels a bit tight!,"

"Sorry for being smaller, I'm still growing alright!"

Qin Qianyu complained back as Mingyu pulled a sports bra down trying to fit everything in.

Qin Qianyu told her to take it off and gave her a sleeveless top, new underwear bottoms and a fresh pair of pyjamas.

"The panties haven't been worn, I only bought them the other day which is lucky! It's good that they fit."

"Mhm, thanks, I'll pay you back tomorrow."

"Aright! You can help me in the garden! Hehe, I'll work you like the 'big' oxen that you are!"

"Hey!"

Lu Mingyu protested. Qin Qianyu chuckled and the pair dressed in their pyjamas headed down stairs and joined the rest of the family.

Qin Haoran was in the kitchen preparing a late meal for everyone.

Since Ouyang Zihan was now pregnant, Qin Haoran didn't want Ouyang Zihan to be in the kitchen surround by oily smoke and such.

It would be easy for her to slip up by accident in there so she had been relegated to peeling fruits while sitting.

Ouyang Zihan was soon joined by the two girls and they chatted away while dinner was being cooked.

"Why isn't grandpa back yet?"

"He said he maybe a while, something to do with the acquisitions of asset sales wasn't completed properly,"

"Huh? What does that even mean?"

"I'm just parroting what he said, I actually have no idea what that means either."

Lu Mingyu explained that it's the process of buying or taking over and adding on to your existing assets thus expanding.

She tried to say it as simply as she could for them to understand it properly.

She then continued that if there are problems then it could be tax related issues or a third party intervention such as a higher bid on an acquisition or a hostile takeover.

"Whoa! You're a business genius!"

Lu Mingyu shook her head shyly as she added,

"Mhm, it's just some things I've gotten to learn thanks to dad."

"Oh speaking of which, are you going to call him?"

"Mhm, I'll do it now, please excuse me for a moment."

"Sure go do your thing. Don't mind us."

Lu Mingyu went into the lounge and called home.

A couple of suburbs over, inside a gated complex another person had just gotten home.

Xiao Yixuan walked into her apartment with a half drunk bottle of water and half eaten takeout in her hands.

As she entered she could smell the aroma of something cooking. She called out as she closed the door.

"Why are you cooking so late for? Haven't you eaten anything yet?"

"I thought you'd be hungry when you got back from the office so . . You've eaten already?"

Xiao Yixuan looked at the woman that just came out of the kitchen wearing comfortable home clothes and an apron guiltily.

"Sorry Yangyang, I truly am. I said I'll be having more late nights this week which means I have to eat while I can."

"It's fine, don't apologise. If you're hungry you have to eat."

Yangyang smiled and said. Xiao Yixuan put the food on the bench and stretched tiredly. At the end of her yawning, she felt a pair of warm arms wrap around her waist from behind.

Yangyang leaned in, then started placing light kisses on the back and sides of Xiao Yixuan's neck as her hands slowly caressed Yixuan's midriff.

Xiao Yixuan closed her eyes and slowly melted into the embrace, then her eyes shot open as she pulled away from her lovers embrace.

"What's wrong?"

Xiao Yixuan's sudden action was a little too strong.

Although she was enjoying the intimacy, a thought pounded at the back of her mind which had been there most of the day and evening caused her to react.

"I . . I haven't washed yet, I'm all sweaty."

Xiao Yixuan muttered shyly,

"Since when has that ever stopped us?"

"Cut it out, let me have a shower first, it's really been one of those days today."

Yangyang cupped Xiao Yixuan's cheeks and lightly planted a kiss on her lips.

"Go wash up, I'll tidy up my mess here."

Xiao Yixuan smiled back and gave the young woman another peck on the lips before making a beeline for the bathroom.

Yangyang smiled as she followed her lover with her smiling eyes.

Xiao Yixuan readied the shower, and stood in front of the mirror. Her thoughts, were her own, as she stared at herself thoughtfully.

She soon shook her head as if forcing the thought she just had out of her mind.

She undressed and stepped into the warm stream of water and slowly washed herself.

"It's not you right? Please don't let it be true. You, you're not allowed to be the villain here!"

Xiao Yixuan mumbled as she leaned on the shower wall and pressed her hands on her belly.

A hypnotic sensation washed over her while she was watching the water run over her hands and belly as it shot out of the shower head.

The soapy suds had long been washed away yet Xiao Yixuan still rubbed her lower belly.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by a knock on the door,

"Have you fallen asleep in there?"

"Mhm, haha, I believe I did nod off just now. I'll be out shortly."

Xiao Yixuan replied as she collected herself and finished off washing.

Meanwhile at the Qin residence, an almighty scream echoed from the dining room table as a frightened Lu Mingyu tried to get the Qin family to move away from the large opened doors.

"The jungle is here!"

"Huh!?"

The family soon turned to see Bai Saan pacing at the door while he curiously bobbed and weaved his head around as if wondering who the new visitor was.

Lu Mingyu was just pointing with her head while she grabbed Ouyang Zihan and Qin Qianyu pulling them away from the table wanting to get further away from Bai Saan.

Qin Qianyu and her mother both calmed the frightened girl down,

Qin Haoran went up and gave Bai Saan a scratch behind the ears as he says,

"Oh it's just our cat, no need for alarm."

" . . . "

"No need for alarm!? . . Just our cat! . . Is this a hidden wealthy family thing!?"

Qin Qianyu looked Lu Mingyu in the eyes, they wouldn't go back to normal as she eyed Qin Qianyu then the tiger without moving her head, it was just her eyes darting from person to cat and back again.

"Pfft . . The jungle . . Is here! . . Bahahaha!"

Qin Qianyu's laughter rang out in the dining room and her smile grew wide as she mocked her friend,

"Stop that! It's not funny!"

Ouyang Zihan slapped Qin Qianyu's hand lightly as she said so,

"It was a little funny though,"

Qin Qianyu pouted and said as she rubbed her smacked hand. Seeing this cause Lu Mingyu to relax. All three woman soon laughed together.

Bai Saan whined and followed it up with a throaty roar which caused Lu Mingyu to flinch and jump out of her seat.

Qin Qianyu grabbed her and pulled her down so that they were beside each other.

Qin Qianyu then leans in and whispered in an innocent voice,

"Do you need to wash up again? . . We also bought diapers for when baby is born, they should fit!"

Lu Mingyu didn't know whether she should laugh or cry. She playfully hit Qin Qianyu and whined herself.

Soon the late night meal was forgotten about and Lu Mingyu tested her courage to pet Bai Saan after seeing the other family members interacting with him, innocently and unafraid.

It didn't take long for Mingyu to have both arms wrapped around Bai Saan's strong neck.

She was rubbing her face into his furry face as if marking him as hers.

"Hehe, feel better now?"

"Mhmmmm, much better. . . "

"It's gooood right!"

"Mmmmmm, this is what healing should be like."

Lu Mingyu mumble lightly in response. She then continued,

"Oh I wish we could take you with us when we visit teacher Mu tomorrow!"

"Best not, it might scare him into a comma or create his own quicksand in his pants while screaming "the jungle is here!, one of the two!"

Lu Mingyu gave a look of feigned anger but soon lost herself again in Bai Saan's fur.

Lu Mingyu thought she owed the Qin family an explanation and told them everything that had happened soon after she called home. She left out any mentions of the phantom fox.

Qin Qianyu acted surprised when she heard Mingyu mention teacher Mu and she offered to go with Lu Mingyu the next day to visit him forgoing the gardening.

"He's really a hero you know, actually I have four heroes! And all four of them helped me today. There's teacher Mu, Mr Zhu, the lady that called you and you yourself. I'm truly grateful to all of you, my heroes!"

Qin Qianyu chuckled and cuddled with Lu Mingyu and Bai Saan.

The girls chatted some more and soon they both started yawning.

The pair left Bai Saan begrudgingly as they made their way towards the second floor.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay in my room?"

"Will you sleep though? . . Or will you stay up and stare at me all night while trying to fart as quietly as you can?"

"Huu, Ahh, hehe! . . "

"It's fine, I'm a big girl, thank you though. For everything, it really means a lot to me."

"No sweat! Isn't that what friends are for?"

Lu Mingyu heard this from Qin Qianyu's mouth and it warmed her heart immensely which in turn caused her eyes to well up,

"Ahh! What's wrong!? Don't cry! I'm sorry!"

"Hehe! It's not you, I just thought of the pep talk I had with a really remarkable person,"

"But . . I don't recall such a conversation?"

Qin Qianyu added puzzlingly. Lu Mingyu laughed lightly and gave Qin Qianyu a cuddle.

"What are doing now?"

"Mhm, it as you said earlier, that's what friends are for."

"For cuddling? Haha! Alright, at least you've stop crying, so I'll stop teasing you. Good night Mingyu. I'll see you in the morning."

"Mhm, Good night."

Qin Qianyu smiled even more in her heart. It seems she really made Lu Mingyu realised that she does indeed consider her a true friend and not just the sister of her friend.

Lu Mingyu went to her room Qin Qianyu did the same but didn't sleep. Instead, she waited over an hour and after ascertaining that the entire household was asleep, she quickly flashed out of the house and towards her lab. Unseen and unheard.

She wanted to start testing Xiao Yixuan's blood and figure out the best course of action to take against the poison.
