Wú Haodong returned some time later, then a slew of nurses and orderlies came in.
"Uncle, what's happening?"
"Is there something wrong with Yu'er!?"
"Old dog? . . "
Everyone in the room turned Wú Haodong for answers when the team of people came in and started unplugging things.
"Just changing rooms that's all."
The nurses unplugged the monitoring devices of both patients. Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan followed after Qin Qianyu as she was pushed out of the room.
Yang Mingchun did the same with Wu Yihuan. As for Wú Haodong he stayed in the room and collected the hidden camera that was set up by Lin Xie before he too left.
When they reached their destination, they found the room to be three times bigger than the last room they were in.
Qin Qianyu was pushed into the room first, the nurses pushed her bed in between two others.
Wu Yihuan followed next and hers was placed next to another empty bed.
The staff reconnected the devices and made some checks before leaving.
Wú Haodong came in soon after.
"Pork chop, your bed."
He says as he pointed to the empty bed next to Wu Yihuan. He the turned to Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan.
"Ah Ran, Han'er, those are for you two."
He pointed to the two spare beds on either side of Qin Qianyu.
"Thank you Uncle,"
"Old dog . . Look at you being all grown up and stuff! . . Who'd you punch to get the hook ups like this hm?"
" . . . "
Wú Haodong's face went stiff. A vein in his neck pulsed madly,
"Haha, I'm only joking, don't have a hernia."
Yang Mingchun says.
She starts unbuttoning her jacket and hung it at the foot of her bed, she did the same to her tie. She removed her shoes and lay on the bed next to Wu Yihuan.
"Excuse me for resting first, but I think I better. I'm may not be as young as our Xiaoyu, but, I'm just as tired as her."
The others nodded and let Yang Mingchun rest. Wú Haodong looked at her and snorted.
He walked over and tidied up her clothes and shoes. He placed a pair of slippers down for her and placed her shoes and jacket in the rooms wardrobe.
As he was doing that, Yang Mingchun had curled herself up into a ball. Both her hands sandwiched between her thighs as she breathed slowly and quietly.
Wú Haodong grabbed a throw and draped it over Yang Mingchun.
The others in the room watched on. The scene was too sweet and cute for words.
Wú Haodong then stroked the woman's head, and a smile formed on her lips.
"Thanks brother Dong, please don't ever change."
Yang Mingchun mumbled. Wú Haodong just snorted before he whisper,
"Rest well,"
Ouyang Zihan and Wu Yihuan were both wondering what kind of relationship the two shared.
"Could there be anything more to this?"
They both collectively thought.
Qin Haoran however was thinking how cool Wú Haodong looked just then. He committed the scene to memory he wanted to try it out with his wife, himself.
Everyone felt warm from witnessing the scene, the atmosphere in the room went from flurried to flowery at that moment in time.
"I'll head home and settle the cat, do you need me to bring anything back for the two of you?"
"I'll come with you, I'll pack a bag for Zihan,"
"Mhm, alright."
"XiaoYi, do you need anything?"
"Ah . . No I'm fine,"
"Alright, if you think of anything, just give me a call."
"I will."
The two men left after that, leaving the women to themselves.
In the hospital lobby, Wú Haodong met Lin Xie.
Lin Xie recognised Qin Haoran and greeted him politely.
"Mr Qin, it's good to see you well."
"Thank you. I just wish I wasn't the only one."
Lin Xie looked confused, Wú Haodong looked even worse. Qin Haoran saw the confusion, he retold to Lin Xie what had just happened to Qin Qianyu.
"This girl, I wish she'd slow down just a little. I know that she's doing all of this for her mother and I, but she still needs to rest."
Lin Xie understood that Qin Haoran didn't know about Xiong Jianguo. In his mind, it was whatever he had done to her that caused Qin Qianyu to collapse.
He was fuming inside.
"Lin Xie, drive us home please,"
Lin Xie nodded and readied the car for the other two. The drive back was quiet. For Qin Haoran it was because his mind was on what the doctor had told him about his daughter.
As for Wú Haodong, it was on Qin Qianyu and how to also tackle the whole situation with the Tang, the Xiong, and the Hao families.
He didn't know who he could trust, nor if he still has any allies left. He eyed Lin Xie from behind.
"Have you found a bigger mountain to admire Lin Xie?"
A moment later he shook that thought from his mind. There was no use in being paranoid, but, he couldn't be blamed. Ever since word got out that his health had been extremely poorly, he slowly notice change on the horizon, but, to him, back then, he didn't care as he was about to die any day or minute.
But now that he's been cured, he realised that he wouldn't be dying any day soon from the radiation.
Instead, it might come from the people closest to him.
"Take Qin Haoran back once he's done, I'll be here for a while then I'll go and meet with the Xiong's."
"Elder, I'll go with you."
"No, I want you to stay at the hospital and watch over Xiaoyu. Accomodate all in that room to the best of your ability."
"I understand."
Wú Haodong went back to his courtyard when Lin Xie and Qin Haoran left. On his way he met up with Bai Saan.
"If only you were smaller, I'd take you with me."
"Awraw . . "
Bai Saan whines, he circled around himself as if he where chasing his tail. Wú Haodong saw this and cocked and eyebrow.
"On second thought . . . "
" . . . "
Wú Haodong stayed with the cat some more. He fed him as he didn't know when he'll be back, or if he'll be back.
Once inside, he took the mask off his face and stared intensely at himself in the full length mirror.
His thoughts were his own at that point in time.
He sat the mask down on the bed and entered the shower.
Moments later, he emerged from the bathroom naked, drying his hair.
"Should I have a hair cut?"
He mumbled as he patted the ends. His long hair reached his butt from behind.
He sat on the bed lost in thought again. He went to his bedside draw and pulled out a couple of things.
He then took a pen and started writing. He wrote several letters and each one was addressed to different people.
They were addressed to Yang Mingchun, Qin Haoran and Ouyang Zihan, Lin Xie and lastly, Qin Qianyu.
He'll leave them in an obvious place, on the main house's dining room table.
Wú Haodong got dressed and changed into his battle attire.
The battle suit was similar to Qin Qianyu's but his had a collar instead of a hood.
The last thing he put on was his lion dog mask.
He didn't bother with his old face mask, he still took it with him though. Wú Haodong went to his wardrobe and retrieved a box.
Inside, a pair of Steinbrenner's, both are 9mm handguns. Wú Haodong holstered them and also equipped several throwing daggers.
Once he was done, he set out.
Wú Haodong stood at the front of the Qin home and gave a polite bow. After which he took his car and headed out into the outskirts of the city.
Meanwhile a full day had passed since Qin Qianyu had fainted and collapsed.
She begrudgingly woke because her bladder was sending her a very intense signal.
However, when she did, she found herself in a room filled with others.
"What are you all doing in my . . . room?"
Qin Qianyu looked around and realised she wasn't in her own bed or even at home for that matter.
Her eyes shot open even wider.
"What happened?"
She asked. The need to relieve herself took a backseat to her wanting to fully understand the situation she just awoke to.
Ouyang Zihan filled her in on what happened to her. She brought up every little thing the doctor had told them and reprimanded Qin Qianyu without holding back anything.
"Yu'er, your father and I but understand that you're doing all of this for our sake, but what's the point if you're not with us to enjoy the fruits from your orchard?"
Qin Qianyu knew that her mother wasn't over reacting. While her mother had berated her she realised that the five form pills shouldn't be used purely as a replacement for food and rest.
But, she was determined to cure Grandpa Wú, at all costs. Qin Qianyu couldn't tell her mother what had really happened, she accepted the growling her mother was giving her.
"I understand. I won't do it again I promise."
"Good. And to absolutely make sure you really do understand, when we leave this hospital, you're on house arrest till the SIC competition starts.
" . . . "
Ouyang Zihan stated firmly. Qin Qianyu's eyes went wide when Ouyang Zihan said this. She looked over at her father and he had a face that suggested the time stated was too short.
Qin Qianyu then looked to Wu Yihuan and Yang Mingchun.
The pair just shrugged their shoulders at her.
Qin Qianyu pouted, but quickly nodded her head in understanding. Ouyang Zihan nodded firmly and sighed out heavily.
She had discussed this with Qin Haoran the evening before when he had returned with Lin Xie. She was worried that her being firm with Qin Qianyu may put a strain on the relationship between them.
Qin Haoran however reassured his wife.
"Don't fret about it. I'm sure she'll know that you're doing this for her own well being and nothing else."
Thinking back on it now, she was glad she did decided to do it.
Qin Qianyu nodded then left to use the toilet. As she sat there, she became engrossed with her thoughts.
Qin Qianyu was at a loss at first. She couldn't leave the house for anything. She wasn't upset though, in fact, it felt nice to just kick back for awhile.
"No studying, refining, worms, medicine, or business antics to deal with. No daring temple adventures into the unknown, to dealing with scoundrels or backstabbers. No dodging bullets or beating up gangsters."
"Just peace and quiet. It's time to recharge."
Qin Qianyu says to herself.
She freshened herself up after she was done with her business and came out more lively than she was moments before.
She was about to sit on the couch, but, Ouyang Zihan wasn't having it and ushered her back into bed.
She only sighed inwardly, but complied.
The door opened up and a doctor walked in.
As Qin Qianyu looked, she noticed Lin Xie standing at the door.
"How long has he been here for? . . Actually, where's the old man?"
"Your father saw Uncle Wú last, as for his subordinate, he brought your father back."
Ouyang Zihan replied.
Qin Qianyu just nodded to her mother as the doctor started running tests.
"Your temperature stabilised and your heart rate too, that's good news Miss Qin. You seem well rested now, but I'll recommend you stay one more night for observations."
"Thanks for your hard work doctor."
"You're most welcome."
The doctor said no more and left the family as he went to check up on Wu Yihuan.
"Miss Wú, the results from yesterday's test have comeback with a stellar outcome. The cocktail that was used against you has been fully flushed from your system, other than doing some light exercises, there's nothing more we can do medically."
"Are you saying she's fit to leave?"
Yang Mingchun queried. The doctor nodded and responded,
"I'd like to also keep her in another day for observations, but yes, both she and Miss Qin are healthy and fit young women."
The doctor asked a few routine questions and he was soon satisfied with her responses.
"Alright, I'll check in again before my shifts end, so rest well, both of you."
"Mhm, thanks Doctor."
While the doctor was dealing with Wu Yihuan, Qin Qianyu was just outside talking with Lin Xie.
She had messaged and tried to call Grandpa Wú but he didn't reply.
"So he hasn't contacted you either since you dropped him home?"
"That's correct Miss Qin. I've tried calling him a few times since but I've still to get a response."
"Are you sure he'll be alright? . . He only just came back from dealing with Xiong Jianguo, why didn't he wait!?."
"Since it involves Xiong Jianguo, I guess that elder Wú wants to settle this as quickly as possible otherwise it could eventuate into something needless."
" . . . "
Qin Qianyu was quiet. Lin Xie saw the worry on her face and sighed,
"Elder Wú was adamant about going to see them. I really wanted to go but he asked me to watch over you and your family."
Qin Qianyu frowned and and looked to Lin Xie with a serious expression,
"Is he expecting some sort of retaliation?"
"I'm not sure, I think it's just a precautionary measure at best, but considering all the ties that lead back to "him" then its highly possible that even if the Xiong or Tang families won't outright seek reprieve, it doesn't mean that they won't seek "his" aid."
"What? . . He's also going after the Tang's as well?"
"Mhm, the elder doesn't like leaving chances or loose ends time to feaster, so knowing that, he'll most likely tidy up a little."
She thanked Lin Xie for his hard work and returned to the room just as the doctor was finishing his talk with Wu Yihuan.
Qin Qianyu looked at her phone and sent another message.
[If I'm under house arrest, then you're on house arrest too! . . . So you better be home when I'm discharge, or look out when I find you.]
[P.S Please come home safely.]
