Chapter Five

Tyler's POV

I sat in front of the Greyhound bus filled with a whole bush of selfish people. The driver drove down a darken street illuminating the dead that were walking around. I didn't want to be here with this people, but I had no choice I had to survive. I tried finding my baby sister, but no such luck. Our parents were dead that much I knew, because they had called me and they were attacked when they were talking to me. So my only living relative was my baby sister, who was nowhere to be found.

"What the hell," the driver said screeching to a stop.

I got up and walked over to him "What happened?" I asked him. He was an old man probably in his fifty or sixties, grey hair, hazel eyes, with white skin.

He hit the stirring wheel "This crazy bitch jumped in front of the bus," he said and as he said that knocks came at the door.

"Please help me. Please let me in," a high pitched voice I knew very well said.

"Open the door," I said.

He looked at me "Are you crazy?" he asked me.

I glared at him "Open the fucking door or I'll open it instead," I said through my teeth.

He frown "Fine, but if she's infected she wont stay," he told me and opened the door. Jackie ran up the steps almost tripping on her way up.

"Thank…," I cut her off.

"Jackie," I said looked at her. She was sweaty and her mascara was running down her plastic face. She looked up me shocked crossing her face but not recognition. She looked at me some more, until she remembered who I was.

"Tyler," she breathes then a scowl spread in her face.

I took a step towards her "Where's my sister?" I asked her not wanting to explain to her how I got here or what happened.

She shrugged "I don't know. Probably already left hours ago to Colorado with the others," she said. She was alive my little sister was alive and wit survivors, I thought as a smile came across my face then a scowl appeared.

"Why aren't you with her?" I asked her.

She snorted "I don't want to be with a freak," she said insulting my sister.

I slapped her "Don't you fucking insult my sister in front of me," I yelled and looked at the driver who was looking at me shocked by my actions. All this time they have thought I was just quite and a loner, but I wasn't. I just didn't want to talk to them "Drive," I growled at him.

Jackie walked past me and sat in one of the only two front seats "She is a freak of nature," she said again.

I glared at her "Why are you such a bitch? She didn't do anything to you," I said to her.

She threw her hands up in the air "She got bit my two Walker's, when we left the house we were staying at," she said. I was stunned. Sky got bit. Impossible, she's always careful at what she does. No, it can't be, I thought my mind going into over drive.

"No, she can't be dead," I said slumping into the seat across from hers.

She shaked her head "The bitch is alive and kicking that's why she's a freak. She's immune to the bite of the Walker's," she told me. What the hell is a Walker?

I looked at her without glaring "What the hell is a Walker?" I asked her curious about that word.

She gave me an are-you-serious look and sigh "A Walker is the dead, genius. Your ex-girlfriend came up with it," she told me. Ciara always had an interesting mind in her head always thinking of the strangest things at the strangest time.

I leaned my head back "So, she's alive too that's good to know," was all I said. The rest of the ride we rode in silence. Four hours later we stopped in the by the road grass for a sleep, because we had to wake up early to make it to Jacksonville and from there we would be entering Georgia to go to Colorado. I closed my eyes and started dreaming about being reunited with my sister.

I woke up with the sun shining on my eye lids and a lot of banging at the door. I thought it was just the people moving around, but then I heard the moaning. Shit, I thought scrambling to my feet to look out the window. There were a lot of the dead… I mean Walker's surrounding us. I don't think we could be able to move the bus through all of them and I didn't have any weapons. I heard whimpers from the people around me and that's when it hit me. We wouldn't be able to survive this without a miracle.

Kayla's POV

We had all woke up around five in the morning to get things ready and take care of some Walker's that had appeared around the place. We didn't have any accidents this time. I had a feeling something bad and something good was going to happen today, but I didn't know what was going to happen. All I knew was that I wasn't going to like it, but at the same time I was. How messed up is that? I drove the bus first at full speed not wasting time and yes I ran over a lot of Walker's. I laughed the all time saying 'Ops sorry didn't see you' or 'my bad'. I had stopped and let Coach Martin drive, because I knew my driving was making him jumpy and scared for his life at the speed I was going. I sat next to Jasper, who was eating again. Seriously, this kid is going to eat himself to death.

I looked at him "Jazz, are you thinking of eating yourself to death?" I asked him. If he said yes I was going to whack him in the back of his head and take away his food.

He looked at me "No, why?" he asked me. He didn't even notice he was eating too much.

I pointed at what he was eating another can of Chef Boyardee "If you keep eating like you are right now, you're going to die," I told him.

Jasper looked shocked "You can die from eating too much?" he asked me and I just nodded. "Can I finish this and I promise I won't too much next time?" he asked me.

I nodded "As long as you don't eat too much," I told him sternly and lean my head back and closed my eyes. I didn't know I had fallen asleep, until someone was shaking me and screaming my name. "What?" I groaned.

"We have trouble," Ciara screamed in my ear.

I jumped to my feet making her jump away from me "Where's the fire?" I yelled. I looked around and saw that everyone was as pale as a freaking vampire, and then I heard the screams. I looked out the window and saw a Greyhound bus being surrounded by Walker's. Shit, I thought. I had a feeling this was the bad and I hoped the good thing was inside that bus. I could feel Jackie's body heat coming from that bus. Great, we're going to have an old friend back. "Damn it. We don't have time for this. Mark, Caleb get yourselves ready, I'll need you guys to cover me, while I try and get them out of that bus," I told them. They nodded and started getting ready. I grabbed my shotgun and my knives. Caleb threw me a rifle knowing I had giving Jackie my .45 pistol to her.

Coach Martin opened the door for us and closed it, when we had set foot on the ground. "Here is how it's going to be. I'll the distraction getting the Walker's attention, while you guys get the people out of there and into the bus, understood?" I asked them.

They nodded.

I looked back at the bus "I don't want any casualties in this. Don't get bit or eaten," was all I said and went to be the distraction. I walked into the middle of the road and started shooting into the air. "Hey, you freaks," I yelled and shot some of them getting a lot of their attention. "Hey, are you guys fucking hungry? Want a piece of me than came and get me," I yelled over the gun shots. I saw the guys heading towards the bus all the Walker's were already heading my way. I saw a black Ford truck in the road and I head that way still shooting. I jumped in the back of the truck and started shooting again. There was too many Walker's and I was soon out of ammo. I was the people from the Greyhound bus going into my group's bus running at full speed and I could see Jackie and someone that was pulling her run to the bus.

Good, everyone is safe, I thought. Yeah, except you stupid, I told myself, but I didn't care as long as the others were safe. The Walker's were already trying to get in the back of the truck to make me their fucking chew toy, but I wasn't going go down without a fight. Coach Martin was waiting for my signal telling him to leave and I gave it to him, but I knew he was going to stop so I kept signaling to go without me. I knew Jasper was screaming I could practically hear him screaming my name. I shot a Walker that got too close to me, but while shooting I was a red motorcycle a couple of feet away from me and I was the keys in it. If only I could get to it and get to the others.

I looked around me and didn't see any openings at all, so I did the stupidest thing I could have ever done in my life. I jumped of the truck into the crowd of Walker's. Of course I fought my way to the motorcycle. I kicked and I stabbed with one of my knives. I had blood all over me again like last time its like I like Walker's blood on m and its freaking annoying me to the point of just shooting every single bastard. When I got free of the mob I ran towards the motorcycle and got on it. I turned the key and the motorcycle roared to life. I speed off to catch up with the bus.

I found it pulled over in the curve Ciara, Caleb, Mark, Jasper, even Sam was there waiting for me. I screeched to stop in front of them and smiled "Missed me much?" I asked them, but I was tackled by Jasper before anyone of them said anything. I could feel his body shaking and hear him sniffing. The poor kid was crying his eyes out. "Jasper, I'm ok. I came back," I told him in his hair. I had a difficult time getting off the bike with Jasper holding onto him like I was going to vanish in front of his very eyes.

"I…I thought I was going to lose you," his sobbed in my stomach. He held onto me tighter not letting me go, as I tried walking towards my group.

Ciara lunged herself at me even with Jasper in the way she managed to strangle me in a bear hug. "Don't you fucking scare my like that do you hear me? Next time you do that and come back I will strangle you," she said sobbing in my ear.

I was wiggling in her hug "Ciara, you're already strangling me," I managed to gasp out.

She pulled back "Sorry, I was just so scared and worried," she told me.

I smiled "Hey, I'm back in one piece aren't I? Jasper can you please loosen your death grip? You're going to break a rib," I told him. His grip was making it hard for me to breath.

He loosens up enough for me to breathe better "Sorry is that better?" he asked me looking up at me. His brown-green eyes were red from all the crying. Someone else hugged me, but I already knew who it was. I would know his hugs even if I was blind.

"Glad you're ok," Caleb said in my ear and kissed my cheek. I couldn't help blushing at his gesture.

I nodded "I'm just glad I didn't get bit," I laughed.

I heard Sam snort "I bet," he said. I looked at him and saw he had a real smile on his face not his usual smirk. My heart skipped a few beats. Wait, hold on a minute. Did my heart just skip a beats from just looking at him smile? What the hell is wrong with me? I still like Caleb. But I ignored it and smiled back at him.

We started moving towards the side of the bus until we heard some commotion going on inside the bus. One by one we got inside the bus me being the last one in. I saw a young man yelling at Coach Martin to drive the bus, but Coach Martin was shaking his head. The man looked around his mid-twenties or early thirties, broad, blond hair, dark blue eyes, tan skinned, and an inch shorter than Coach. The guy was about to hit him, but I interrupted. "Enough," I yelled. All heads turned to me "What the hell is going on here?" I asked my voice very commanding and very angry making some people flinch.

Coach Martin looked at me and smiled "Glad you're back, I was waiting for you," he told me walking to me and giving me a hug, and then walked to the driver's seat starting the bus again.

I looked at the guy "Where do you think you are? This is not your bus, so you can't do whatever the hell you want, understood?" I asked him.

He glared at me "You can't speak to me that way," he yelled.

"Yell at her one more time," Caleb threaten him pointing his gun at the guy.

The guy looked taken aback "Why do you have gun? You're just a kid," the guy stuttered.

Caleb narrowed his eyes "Listen up, you don't yell at her, understood? She is our leader, we follow her and her alone not you or your buddies here," Caleb told him.

"Actually, I would follow her anywhere she goes, even to my death," I heard the one voice I have been waiting to hear for the past seven months. I looked up from where his voice came from. He was sitting down in one of seats next to Jackie, but he was looking at me with a wide smile in his face.

I looked at him and felt the tears running down my cheeks "Tyler," I sniffed and pulled Jasper's arms from around my waist and ran to him throwing my arms around his neck. I cried and cried in front of everyone not carrying anymore that they were looking at me.

Tyler held me tightly "I got you," he whispered in my ear.

When I finally let him go, I had composed myself. "I thought you were dead. Do you know anything about mom and dad?" I asked him. I saw sadness cross his eyes and face "Don't tell me they didn't make it," I said.

He looked away "They were talking to me on the phone, when I heard them getting attacked," he told me. My heart was beating faster and faster. I was already seeing red in my vision, but I felt small arms wrap themselves around my waist and I relaxed my heart going back to its normal pace.

Jasper hugged me tightly telling me that I had him and everyone else even my brother. I smiled at him "Thanks, Jazz. You always know don't you? You're smart kid," I said shuffling his hair. "Let me introduce you to my older brother, Tyler," I said pointing at my brother. "Tyler, meet Jasper," I said. Jasper looked at my brother and my brother looked at him. They nodded at each other.

I looked at the new people around me and I knew I had some order to put. "Listen up," my voice echoed around the bus very strong and very commanding. They all glared at me "In here is done differently, then in your bus. I don't like arguments and everyone has to get along. if you want to live you will listen to me and not question me, but if you don't like how I run things here you can walk out the bus and go your own way, understood?" I said to them all. I looked at the man that had wanted to pick a fight with Coach Martin "And you," I said pointing at him "Better behave unless you want me to snap and you do not want me to snap," I told him. He just glared, but went to sit down. I felt someone touch my shoulder.

I looked at who was touching me and it was Ciara. She looked at me "I'm just changing the bandages," she said. I nodded and took off my shirt. I didn't care if I was standing in just my bra in front of the entire people. "Mark, get me some alcohol and new bandages," she said. I sat down at the foot of a seat waiting for her to finish.

"Holy shit," Tyler exclaimed "So, it's true. You were bit by zombies," he said using the one word I never used.

I nodded "Yeah, I was bit two nights ago and let me tell you I didn't scream. I only…" I didn't get the chances to finish, because Ciara poured alcohol on the bite in my shoulder making me scream. "Fuck me," I yelled.

"Sorry, the wound is contaminated," she yelled and started cleaning again. I tried not screaming, while she tented to my shoulder bite. I was tortured for twenty minutes. "Okay," she said.

"I finally," I said getting up, but I was pushed back down by her.

"I didn't say I was done. I still need to clean your left arm," she said getting started with my left arm. She took out the bandage and poured alcohol again. I screamed bloody murder.

"For fucking sake, Ciara, it fucking hurts," I yelled, but she didn't answer. She was already used to me cussing every time she treated my wounds and made me scream in the process.

She tortured me for another twenty minute "Okay, now I'm done," she said cleaning up her mess and I was sweating by the time she was finished tormenting me. I put on my shirt and went to sit on my brother's lap, while Jasper sat in the seat I was sitting on. We rode in silence. We stopped only once to fill in the gas tank and the little red plastic thingy with gasoline, while everyone eat something and stretched their legs. We got back on the road and I sat back down on Tyler's lap and Jasper sat in the seat next to Tyler.

I fell asleep my brother's arms, when we entered Georgia.
