Chapter Six

Jasper's POV

I looked at Kayla sleeping in her older brother's arms. I had never seen her cry, but she saw him she flipped and broke. I could still hear her cries in my ears. I didn't know she had a relative, until a few moments ago and Jackie is back by the way. Yes, bitchy Jackie. She was sitting on the seat across from Tyler's seat and she was looking at him like she wanted to eat him. It was very disturbing.

"I can tell she likes you," I heard Tyler whisper to me. I looked at him and noticed he had the same violet eyes as her and same brunette hair. They looked kind of the same, but he looked a little older and he was a guy.

I narrowed my eyes "What do you mean?" I asked him curious about what he meant by that. I hadn't remembered him from the last time I was in this group, but I guess he came after they abandoned me in the middle of now where or he was there but I didn't notice him. Yes, I said abandoned. They were selfish enough to do that to a thirteen year old, because they thought I was taking to much space. Yeah right, they just didn't want anything to do with me.

Tyler looked at me "I mean the way she looks at you. She's like a mother bear protecting her cub from hunters or something and the way you were going crazy inside the bus when we left, told me you are very attached to her," he told me. He was right. I was attached to her like she was my mother, but also as a sister to me. I went insane, when we drove by her and didn't stop. There was so many Walker's surrounding her that she wouldn't come back and I wouldn't be able to give her my hugs anymore.

I looked at her again "You're right, Tyler. I think of her as a mother to me, but also as a sister. I lost my family seven months ago and I was with the group of that bus you were in, but they being the selfish people that they are abandoned me in the road with a bunch of Walker's there. I was stuck there for four freaking days without food of water, until she found me," I told him still looking at her. I looked up at Tyler who was very quite, but what I saw shocked me. He was angry very angry.

"They did that to you," he hissed.

I nodded "Yeah, but I'm fine now. I mean, she found me and took me in with her group. She feed me and clothes me. She treats me like a kid, but at the same time treats me like one of her own," I told him. I saw his eyes soften and his face brighten.

He smiled "That's so like her," he said looking at his sister in a brotherly love manner.

"I won't take this," someone yelled at the back of the bus. I turned to look behind me and saw it was that guy again. Doesn't he have a life, I thought to myself.

Caleb stood up "Do you have a problem?" he asked the guy. He was on guard incase the guy decided to pound on him.

The guy looked at him "Yeah, I do. You guys are my problem. I will not take orders from a girl much less a sixteen year old girl," he yelled.

"She's seventeen, douche," Tyler yelled back.

The guy glared at him "Like I fucking care," he said.

Tyler glared back "I'm warning you don't wake her up or she'll be pissed," he warn the guy. I looked at him in confusion. "She's tired enough as it is," he added.

"Yeah, man. We don't want her to snap and kill you for waking her up. I can still feel the headlock she gave me, when I woke her up by accident. It hurt like hell," Caleb said a shiver pass by him.

"I don't fucking care," the guy yelled and that's when Kayla woke up. She got up so fast that if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't have caught it. She looked very pissed off. She walked up to the guy and punched him in the face making fall to the bus floor. I could tell she was going to do something else like kick him or something, but Tyler was holding her back and dragging her away from the guy. Caleb took her from him and he dragged her to her seat, while Tyler went to check on the guy was starting to get up.

"I told you so," Tyler and Caleb said at the same time.

Tyler looked at Caleb "Can you snap her out of it?" he asked him.

Caleb smiled "There is only one way and I wanted to do it for so long," he said and turned back to her and I saw him do something I didn't expect. He kissed her in her lips.

Kayla's POV

I felt Caleb's lips in my own. They were soft in my own, as I remembered long ago. I was pissed at being wakened up by yelling by that annoying guy. I don't like strangers waking me up, because I snap and go attacking before I snap out of it. I felt a blush forming in my cheeks and I felt Caleb's tongue asking for entrance. I gave in. He kissed me hard and passionate. I did the same.

He pulled away first "I missed kissing you like that," he whispered in my lips. I couldn't say anything I was still shock and confused, but at the same time it didn't feel right. It was like it wasn't Caleb I should be kissing, but I ignored that feeling. Then I felt we weren't moving anymore.

I looked at Coach with a confused look, but he was looking out the window pale faced. "Coach, you ok?" I asked him. My lips still had the ting from the kiss.

He looked at me "I think you should see this," he told me and looked back outside. I walked to him and stood next him. What I saw was very disturbing everything was destroyed. It was like a hurricane came over this place. Smoke rose from cars and trucks, dead bodies laid on the ground some weren't even recognizable, some were being still eaten by Walker's others were just Walker's.

"My God," I whispered.

"What?" I heard Jasper next to me looking outside into the massacre.

I placed my hand over his eyes "Don't look," I told him. "Go back and sit down next to Tyler. What ever you do don't look outside, Jasper. I mean it," I said turning him around and letting him go back. I heard his slump down in a seat and turned my attention back on this hell.

I heard someone else approach me and I knew who it was by the body heat; Caleb. "We have to make a stop somewhere. We need more food, since we have more people," he said.

I nodded "Yeah, I know. I'll go alone this time," I said.

"No," Caleb said.

I looked at him "I'm not endangering anyone for right now, besides they can't hear me walking and I'm faster. We can't and will not stay in this place for long," I told him getting frustrated with him.

He looked pained "I just got you back," he said in a sad voice. Does he think we're an item? I couldn't help thinking about Sam. Why do I keep thinking about him? Ugh, even my life has boy drama in this hell.

I sigh "Caleb, you know as well as I that I'm more quite my foot steps doesn't echo or make any kind of sound. I'll be fine, besides I'll kill some Walker's on my way," I told him. Fighting is always a lost case no one can go against me.

He knew he wasn't going to win "Fine, but you better be back in one piece and not in pieces," he told me.

I chuckled "No promises," I told him and looked at Coach. "Where is the next gas station?" I asked.

"We are in it," he said and I looked around and sure enough we were in a gas station, but there was too many Walker's.

I nodded "Ok, Caleb bring me my knife and a backpack," I said not looking behind me. I heard some shuffling around and some murmurs. I didn't pay attention to them, until I felt Jasper's arms around my waist.

"Why?" he asked me "Why are you going alone?"

I loosen his grip and turned around "Because they can't hear me walk and I'm faster than anyone else. I'll be back you'll see," I told him and hugged him tightly.

He pulled back and was serious "Promise me. Promise me you'll come back and not get eaten," he told me.

"I'm with him," I heard Tyler's voice.

I looked at him "I'm surprised you're not stopping me," I said to him.

He smirked "I stopped fighting you a long time ago, besides we are both stubborn and will get our way one way or another," he told me. He had a great point.

I smile back "You got a point. I promise both of you that I'll come back," I told them both. Caleb came up to me with backpack in one hand and both my knives in the other. I took the backpack and only one of my knives.

He looked shocked "You're not taking both?" he asked me.

I shaked my head "No, just the one," I told him and looked at Coach. "You know the drill," I said as a statement not a question, but he still answered me with a nod and opened the door. I jumped down the steps without a sound and started my silent stroll to the gas station glass doors. I walked my Walker's as silent as the spring breeze. I had smile all the way into the doors, but I looked through the glass doors and saw a couple of Walker's inside. Great, just great couldn't they be outside instead of inside? No, they had to be both inside and outside. God, you hate me, I rambled inside my head, as I walked through the doors.

I walked through isle and isle avoiding the Walker's and just dumping things inside the backpack silently not making any noise. That is until a Walker pumped into me making me drop a can of something. The sound echoed through the store and their heads snapped in my direction. There was only four Walker's in the isle I was in and that made it difficult to fight. I dropped the backpack on the floor with a crash and took out my knife getting into my fighting mode. I was being blocked my both side, as they made their way over to me. I attacked without mercy or regret. I stabbed the first Walker in its eye and kicked the other one behind me getting it in its face.

Fuck, I mentally yelled. The Walker I stabbed fell to the ground, but now the entire Walker's were in the isle moaning their head off. I counted at least seven of them and I knew I was going to be bit, but it didn't mean I was going to let them. Hell no, over my fucking body. I high kicked, punched, and stabbed. One almost got close to biting me, but I stabbed him in the side of its head. My luck didn't last for long though, because I didn't see the one without legs and when I did it was too late. It bit my right ankle hard, but I didn't scream. I stumbled into a Walker who grabbed me and bit me in my neck taking and this time I did scream. I tried pushing it off me, but it was too strong for me. I had no choice, but to kick at the one that was munching off my right ankle. I felt its teeth leave my ankle and I took that opportunity to twist in the other Walker's grasp and head butt it.

It stumbled away from me, but not without some skin. Lucky I didn't drop my knife. I looked down at the one I kicked and saw it was making its way towards my feet again. "No, I don't think so," I said to it. I brought my knife over my head and went to the kill on top of its head making a sickening crack that sent shiver down and up my spine. I heard the moan of the other one and made my way towards it. My blood still in its mouth and that irritated me. I could feel the infection running in my bloodstream coursing all over my body making me weak, but I wasn't giving up. I had a promise to keep to Jasper and Tyler and I was going to keep it. I was going back to them and no Walker was going to stop me. My blood ran down my neck into my clothes making it damp and sticks to my skin. I could feel the fever coming and sweat ran down my forehead. I walked up to the Walker and not wasting my time stabbed it in the middle of its forehead.

"Take that bitch," I said and looked around me to see if there was any Walker's left after me. There was none I had taken care of all of them. I limped back to my backpack and finished getting what was needed. I walked back to the doors and saw that the Walker's were still walking not having heard the brawl that had just occurred or heard my scream. I opened the door and limped towards the bus sweat pouring down clouding my vision making it hard to see any Walker's and I almost hit one, but I stopped just in time. I was breathing hard my body starting to shake and the fever was getting higher and higher. I reached the bus and placed my blood hand on the door not knocking on it, because I couldn't knock my body was getting weak and trying to knock was taking away my energy, so I signaled as best as I could for Coach Martin to open the door; which he did.

I stumbled up the steps almost falling, but when I reached the end I heard lots of gasping. "I got what we needed, we can go now," I told Coach Martin dropping the backpack next to the driver seat.

"No," I heard Jasper yell, but I wasn't listening all I knew was that I was going down though before I fell I felt strong arms going around my waist. I looked up and saw Caleb's horror stricken face,

I smiled weakly "Hey, Caleb," I said my voice fading away.

"Bring her to me Caleb," I heard Ciara said. Caleb lifted me into his arms and carried me towards Ciara, who had stuff in her hands. I couldn't tell what it was, because my eye sight was becoming very blurry. I felt Caleb sitting me down in a sweat somewhere and heard Ciara tell him to help Tyler with Jasper. I left warm fingers touching my neck "Shit," Ciara screeched and felt some kind of liquid on my throat and it burned like hell.

I screamed and started fighting. "Sam, hold her down. She won't let me stop the blood," Ciara yelled. I felt strong arms that sent shiver up and own my spine and making butterfly flutter inside my stomach, holding me down. I felt someone working on my neck making me scream time and time again. I tried to fight the arms holding me in place, but my body was weak and the fever was flaming hot. The in my neck stopped, but the pain in my ankle didn't. I felt the same cold liquid in my ankle, but it didn't burn as much as my neck did.

After a few more minutes my heart beats were slowing down and my body was becoming numb. My eyes got heavier and heavier, until I darkness took me and the last thing I felt was the last beat of my heart.
