Chapter Seventeen

Kayla's POV

I awoke with the best feeling in the whole world and that was being glad that my father was a living and not dead or the walking dead and also knowing that I had an older brother. I got off the bed and grabbed clean clothes, a towel, tooth paste, tooth brush, shampoo and conditioner, and walked out my room towards the bathroom wanting to take a long hot shower that my body and hair deserved. The bathroom was all white the floor, walls, toilet, and tub well all white that it felt like I was living in the loony bin. I undressed, turned the hot water on, and went in enjoy the feel of it on my skin and hair.

After my almost two hour shower, I stepped out dressed in my black skinny jeans, red tank top, and my converse brushing my teeth before I walked out of the bathroom. Jasper and Jace were on the counter waiting for me to come out. I smiled at them "Morning," I said and kissed both their heads.

Jasper hugged me "You mean afternoon, ma," he said releasing me making me chuckle.

Jace smiled at me "Afternoon, Kayla," he said calling me by my real name, but I didn't mind it's not like I'm expecting him to call me his mother or anything like that.

I went to the fridge "What do you want to eat?" I asked them opening it and finding nothing. The fridge had no food, water, or anything in it not even ice cubes. What the hell? I'm sure this thing is called a fridge. I mean it looks like one inside and out, I thought to myself sounding stupid. "Err, where the hell is the food?" I said to myself out loud.

I heard the kids sighing "We don't have food in here. We have to the cafeteria of the big building and eat there," Jace said and I turned to look at them.

Jasper looked kind of guilty "We just came from there and eat lunch," he said feeling guilty for not waking me up probably.

I sighed "That's fine, I'll just go there nothing to feel guilty about, Jasper. Thanks for telling me, Jace," I said smiling at them both and they smiled back. "So, you guys going outside or stay inside the whole day?" I asked them all ready making my way towards the door to leave.

I heard them jump down the counter and yelled "Outside," and ran past me opening the door and running out, while I laughed and made my way towards the main building to get something to eat or I will starve to death. I made my way down the halls of the dorms towards the exit and walked down the path that led to the main building. It was made of bricks and looked like it was built on the early nineteenth century with its reddish color from the bricks. I walked towards the closed doors of the cafeteria and pushed them opened the voices of the people drifted towards me, as I stepped inside looking around myself to see a lot of people here. There were men, women, and children in this place and I could tell everyone was enjoying themselves. I went to get in line to what they had for food and found they had can ravioli, spaghetti, some canned fruit, and other stuff. I grabbed a plastic plate and took some ravioli, some fruit, and a bottled water to make the food go down. I looked around to find a place to sit, but every where I looked it was full with people talking among themselves with their friends or neighbor. I looked at the far corner of the cafeteria and saw Sam waving me over. The other guys were with him too even Ciara except my brothers were no where to be seen, but there was five people that I did not recognize, three girls and two boys.

A smile crept on my lips and walked over to them "Thanks," I told Sam and sat between him and Caleb.

Caleb smiled "Thanks for joining us for lunch, since you practically missed breakfast this morning and we were so lonely without you," he said pouting making everyone on the table laugh except the five unknown people.

I playfully punched him on his right arm "Jeez Cal, you could have just woken me up if you wanted to you know I wouldn't mind," I said eating my food, while trying not to choke from the light laughter.

Ciara laughed "She's right, Cal. I would know I used to jump on her bed just to wake her up at six in the morning, because I was bored at home and went over to her house just to bug the hell out of her," she said laughing remembering the fun we always had at home.

I swallowed my food "Yeah, and every time you did that I kicked you out of my bed and you would fall butt first, but sometimes face first and it was hilarious," I said with a real laugh this time remembering how I used to swipe her legs from under her, so she would let me sleep.

James laughed "You guys are so weird, but fun to hang around with," he said.

Sam looked at him "You shouldn't be talking, my friend. You used to be a football jock at school and an asshole at that, which by the way, I hated you for being a fucking jerk for no reason," he said "But that changed."

My eyes sadden "Everything changed for us, Sam. Everything went to hell seven months ago out lives changed," I whispered playing with my food a little.

I felt a hand on my head "Everything may have changed for us, but it was that changed that finally brought us together, little sister," I heard Dean's voice and he shuffled my hair. Now, I knew how Jasper felt every time I shuffled his hair.

I smiled "You're right, Dean. Everything that has happened for the last seven months had brought us together, as a family, big bro," I said and looked at him with a smile on my face.

He chuckled "Well said," he said and kissed my cheek.

Caleb looked at my brother "Why don't you seat with us, Dean? I mean, you are after all, Sky's older brother, so your practically one of us," he told him.

Dean chuckled "Fine by me," he said and I could feel the three girls looking at my brother. Dean dragged a chair to our table and sat beside James.

Ciara sighed "You and him are so alike even agree with the same thing and I thought I had seen everything in this life time," she said eating her last bite of her food.

Mark looked at me "By the way where is Tyler?" he asked me.

I looked at Ciara "Good questions, Mark. Ciara, where is my other brother?" I asked her looking at her dead in her eyes. I swear if she tells me they did it I will shoot my brains out.

The Barbie chick in front of me looked at Dean "So Dean, how you've been?" she asked him in a bitchy tone. Great, another Jackie in my hands, I thought to myself. If she is as bad as her I will kill the both of them, because I don't want to deal with two bitchy people in this life time.

Dean sigh "Dana, I don't have time for you get over yourself, because I'm going to be yours and I will never be. You can't have me like you can have everything else and by the way you're a pain in the ass," he told her looking at her sternly.

She flushed in anger "I will have you just you wait," she said.

James groaned "Great, we have another Jackie on our hands. Couldn't the there be just one bitchy person?" he said banging his head on the table.

I sighed "I thought the same thing, Jay" I told him.

James smiled "I like the nickname, Sky," he said with a lightly laugh. He has really changed for the better these last few months. If anyone had told me seven months ago that The James has been nice to people, I would have never believed it without seeing it and here he is now changed for the better.

Ciara sighed "I don't know where Tyler is," she finally said.

"Are you ignoring me?" the Barbie chick named Dana said.

We looked at each other and looked at her "Yes," we said at the same time.

Ciara got up "I'll go look for Tyler," she said, but I could feel his body heat in this place.

I grabbed her arm "There's no need, Cece. Tyler's here," I told her and she sat down. I could feel Tyler about to attack me from behind.

Dean stood up "Tyler, what the hell," he said, but it was to late I felt him swig something and I moved my head slightly to the left catching whatever he had swag at me with my bare right hand. I pushed him of me and got up and faced him. He had a knife on his hand twirling around his fingers like I do before going to a fight. He threw the knife at my head, but I easily caught it.

I sighed "Twin, do we really have to practice now? I mean, I haven't even finished eating my lunch/breakfast," I told him get my chair again about to sit down, but he grabbed me by the waist and he sat down pulling me into his lap.

He chuckled "I was bored, Kayla," he said placing his head on my shoulder.

Dean sigh "You two worry me and that's not an understatement," he said finishing his lunch.

Caleb sigh "Dude, they do weird stuff just to get un-bored and you haven't seen the half of it," he said also finishing his lunch.

Tyler and I glared at him "You will pay for telling him that, Cal, and you know we will get even," we said evilly smirking.

Caleb eyes widen "Dear god, it's the end of me. Excuse my guys, I'm going to go into hiding before this two try to kill me or something. I just don't want to be part of any schemes they pull, so see you guys later," he said getting up from his chair and walking as fast as he could, but there was no where he could hide from us.

Ciara looked at us "You're going to get him aren't you just so you could have fun," she said.

Tyler and I looked at each other and then at her "Actually, the fun is already starting and it will be so much fun," we said at the same time.

Sam groaned "I hate it when you guys do that it's so weird sometime, it's like you can read each other minds or something," he said.

I looked at him "Mm, I wonder if I could actually do that? I mean, I can already do a lot of things and all, so why not try it, Sammie," I said to him.

Sam groaned "You're lucky that you're the only one that I let call me by that," he said.

Tyler looked at him "That's because you love her, dimwit," he said.

Sam chuckled "True," was all he said and we all finished eating.

Tyler took hold of my arm "Time for training for us," he said and looked at Dean. "Do you know a good place, where we won't be found?" he asked him.

Dean shrugged "No, I don't know, little bro," he said.

I nodded "That's fine, bro. I'm sure we'll fine a place," I said.

Tyler nodded "Thanks though and you should go back to sleep. You look horrid," he said.

Dean lightly laughed "I will right now," he said and walked away from us probably going back to his dorm.

I smiled "He is a good older brother," I said as I opening the door and walked out into the bright afternoon.

Tyler nodded "Yeah, couldn't ask for anyone for an older brother, but enough chatting it's time to look for the training ground to practice with your powers and see what else you can do," he said pulling me towards the training ground that they had here, but I don't think they used it anymore since their men could fire and stuff.

Dean's POV

I left the cafeteria and went to the dorms to get some shut eye before my watch with Lucas someone else that I didn't know about. Tyler and Kayla are going to find somewhere to train probably Tyler is going to help Kayla with her powers, so she could control it or something. I should be a little freaked out about it, but actually I'm amazingly alright with it. I don't mind have siblings that are different that's just life works. I mean, zombies are real and everyone thought they were just myth some idiot out there made up, but now I wouldn't be surprised if vampires were real or even werewolves.

I was about to enter the dorms, when Lucas came running to me "Dean, wait up," he said running at full speed.

I looked at him "Lucas, what can I do for you?" I asked him, when he had stopped in front of me.

He smiled "I just got a report that someone spotted two kids walking to the unused training ground and I'm thinking you know them," he said.

Mm, two kids walking to the unused training ground? Tyler and Kayla for sure "Tyler and Kayla," I told him and started walking to the unused training ground. There was a reason why everyone stopped going there, because that was the place where many zombies would pop out from like there was an underground tunnel in that small building and so we locked it. No one was allowed to go there not even trained personnel.

Lucas walked beside me "So you do know those kids. They look no older than seventeen and they said one of them had a knife in their hand," he said looking straight ahead.

I sighed "They're my little brother and sister, Lucas. They both have weapons they got here last night," I told him turning right to get there faster before it's to late and they open it. I could already see the building up ahead it looked a storage building.

He looked at me "Seriously? Then all those gun shots we all heard last night was from them?" he asked me.

I nodded "Yeah, their group made it to here, but they were attacked and only fifteen survived the attack. Their friends all have weapons to apparently my little sister taught them how to use the weapons, when all this started," I told him getting near the building, but Tyler and Kayla weren't there.

"Wow, she must be an expert," he said.

I nodded "Yeah, she has killed many of those bastards," I said now standing on the open doors of the unused training ground. I groaned "We're too late they're inside already and the lights are on," I said and went inside.

Lucas grabbed my arm "What the hell are you doing? There could be dozens of them in there, man. Your brother and sister are toast," he said and I glared at him.

A shadow appeared and I heard the moaning making me turn around and saw a zombie right in front of me about to bite. "I don't think so," I heard a familiar female voice and saw another shadow jumping on the zombie. They landed outside and I saw Kayla on top of the zombie. She looked pissed "No one tries to bite my brother you piece of dead walking meat," she yelled and to out a knife from her back twirled it around her fingers and stabbed it in the forehead.

"Would you stop yelling and come and help me here there to many of them," I heard Tyler's voice from inside the building.

Kayla got up taking hold of the zombies leg and dragged back inside "Coming, Tyler," she said and went back inside, but before that she looked at me. "Be careful, Dean," was all she said and went inside.

Lucas looked at her as she went inside "Dude, I think I'm in love and is that really your little sister, because damn she's hot," he said and I glared at him.

"Don't even think about it, Lucas. She already has two guys after her," I told him and went inside after my brother and sister. They were in so much trouble. Lucas closed the door as he came inside with me and all around were bodies of the dead laying on the floor.

Lucas whistled low "What the hell happened here?" he said looking and walking around.

I sighed "What do you think? Tyler and Kayla did this," I said also walking around and looking at them.

Lucas gasped "Dude, there more coming our way," he said taking out his gun about to shot, but I stopped him.

I looked at him "If you shot now the sound will echo around us and attract more of them just stay calm and don't make sound," I whispered to him, but I didn't have to say anything because Kayla popped out of no where.

She looked at us "Seriously, are you guys trying to get killed?" she asked us, as she kill gracefully killed or re-killed a zombie. She bandages were looking bloody already and pretty soon she will have to change her bandages.

I looked at her "I can ask you the same thing, Sky. There was a reason why there was a lock on this building and this was the reason. The dead would pop out of no where and start eating people, while we were training," I told her looking around for Tyler.

She looked at us confused "What the hell are you talking about? This is training," she said and went back to killing.

Tyler popped out from inside another room fighting a zombie that was to close to him and after he was done he looked at us. "Oh, what are you doing here?" he asked me walking over to us a little breathless.

Lucas looked at him "You two think this is training?" he asked him a little astonished by them and their attitude.

Tyler and Kayla looked at each other and then back to us "Yes," they said and went back to the zombies.

Lucas POV

"Yes," Dean's brother and sister said at the same time. These kids were crazy thinking of using them as training material. I noticed that the girl had bandages on her arm and they were getting bloody though she was hot. I couldn't even believe she was related to Dean. I mean, I have known the guy for a long time and this is the first time knowing this, but I shouldn't be surprised he didn't talk much about his family and the only family he had here was his real dad and mom no one else.

The girl took hold of her brother's shoulder and lifted her body of the ground two kick two of the zombies that were getting near them. They were in sync with each other moving around each other without getting in each other's way like they were dancing, but without music.

I looked at Dean "Dude, your brother and sister are insane," I told him looking back at the scene playing in front of my eyes. I had never seen kids there were not afraid of killing the dead, unlike the people here who were freaked out. We barely had any women who would our group to keep the rest of this people alive, but here I'm looking at a seventeen year old girl fighting without mercy with only one knife and her brother by her side with only on knife.

Dean sigh "I know," he said and looked at them with admiration in his violet eyes.

Tyler took hold of his sister and turned her around to face him. She looked at him "Try it, Sky. Try moving them with your mind," he told her making me a little confused by what he said. Move them? Move them how? I thought to myself.

She looked at him a little scared "Are you sure? I mean I don't know if I can or if I can control it," she said looking at us.

Dean sigh "Don't worry, Kayla. I'll be fine just trust in yourself and besides Tyler is next to you. He won't let anything happened just remember you're not alone in this and that you can do it all you have to do is trust in or believe you can do it," he told her and I looked at them in confusion.

Tyler nodded "He is right, Sky. I'll be right here," he told her and kissed her on her forehead.

She nodded "alright," was all she said.

"I'm a little lost here, guys," I said.

Dean looked at me "Just shut up and watch, Lucas," he said and went back to look at them.

Kayla's POV

Tyler and I had found the training ground and it locked, but that didn't stop use from breaking it and entering the place. Soon though, we found out why they had locked this place. There was Walker's in here like a whole bunch of them in this building, but Tyler decided to make this a training and it didn't sounded like a bad idea. Ten minutes into training I heard Dean's voice and someone else I did not know, but I could feel a Walker in their direction and got there in time to see a Walker on my brothers' face though I had save him.

Now, Tyler told me to move them with my mind and I didn't know if I could much less control it. Both my brother's were here and a friend of my older brother. Dean told me to trust in myself and believe I could do it and Tyler would be by my side and would stop me if things went out of control. I looked at the massive group of Walker's around me and concentrated hard on moving them. I closed my eyes tightly concentrating on how my powers made me feel or how it felt on my body.

I imaged how the glow made me feel and how the heat warm by body, when I was mad. I could slightly feel the heat starting inside my body and I held on to it trying harder willing it to run all over my body. I imaged the glow that engulfs my body from my head to my toes the soft gently glow that I love. I felt my body tingling as the glow engulfed me once again. I opened my eyes and saw the lovely color of it. It was a light golden color with a touch of a lovely purple color like my eyes.

I smiled "I did it," I whispered in my not-so-much my voice.

Tyler nodded "Yes, you did. Now, move them give all you got," he said encouraging me. I lifted my right hand and concentrated on moving them with my mind, but using my hand as a direction on where they will go. I breathe in and out lifting my hand up into the air making some Walker's elevate in mid-air.

I gasped "I'm doing it," I said in my strange voice again.

Tyler smiled "Good. Don't lose concentration, Sky. You know what to do now," he said to me.

I nodded "I sure do," I said and concentrated more. I pushed my mind power outward making more Walker's elevate in the air, but I threw them across the room. I concentrated on Tyler's and my knife elevating them in there air. I pointed at the Walker's forehead and willed the knives on striking them there. And it did happen. The knives flew and went for the kill. In a matter of five minutes I had all Walker's dead and on the ground. I felt drained and on the verge of collapsing.

I felt Tyler's arms holding me "Careful," he said.

My head spun around and I sat down on the floor next to Tyler placing my head on knees. "Everything is spinning around like a spinning wheel," I moaned feeling sick to my stomach.

I heard chuckling "You'll get used to it, I think," I heard Dean say and heard his foot steps getting near us.

"Who is your friend, bro?" Tyler asked him and I knew he was eyeing the guy with narrow eyes like he would always do, when he didn't know someone.

"This is Lucas, my best friend," he said.

"Well, I hope he doesn't tell anyone of what he just saw," I heard Tyler say though I knew it was directed at Lucas.

I looked at him "Tyler, stop being so overprotective of me and I feel so sick to my stomach right now," I said getting up from the floor, as everything spun around again making me dizzy and my eyes blurred. I could feel myself falling, but I didn't touch the ground instead I was lifted into someone's strong arms.

"I put her in her room, while you get her something to eat and drink," I heard Dean tell to someone. I guess using my powers had left me weak, but I'm happy that nothing bad happened and I could control it a little. I eyes felt very heavy "You sure are an incredible girl, sis," was all I heard Dean say to me before I passed out in his arms.
