There's Nothing Uglier Than An Uglier Truth

Along the way to the mansion, Zaqiel found a bike. He stole it and used it in order to go there quickly. Stopping in front of the mansion, he hurriedly made his way in. As he was running, he saw the guards were completely wiped out. There was one left who's barely breathing. He went to him in order to gather information.

"What the hell happened here?" Zaqiel asked.

"It was a monster, a monster, monster..." the guard said.

The guard lost his consciousness completely. Zaqiel continued his way inside. More wiped out guards were there along the way. As he was approaching the Don's office, he saw something in the ground. It was a familiar item. It was a bracelet.

"Payne's? How could it be?" he thought.

Zaqiel slowly took a peek inside of the Don's office. The next thing he saw would haunt him for eternity.

It was Payne in his werewolf form, eating the corpse of Don Firo. Payne turned back to a barely human form when the cloud momentarily covered the moon. Payne was crying as he saw his brother Zaqiel.

"I remember everything now. I'll tell you the truth"

For many centuries, the Rupus clan were cursed by the Wolfgang genes. The origin as to how they got it was unknown. All the information present is that during a visible moon, they would turn into a vicious werewolf. They would be hunted down by humanity in retaliation. After endlessly wandering in the woods, the clan decided to settle in their own made area. Soon, they would turn this area into households. They would live peacefully inside of it.

Later it was found out that not everyone are able to inherit the curse genes. This became evident when more and more of the family members had this case. Soon, an entire generation was free of the Wolfgang genes. They thought it was the end of their suffering. For the following years, they were able to live in peace. It was not until a certain baby was born. That baby's name was Payne.

The whole clan had a meeting on what their next course of action would be. The years of being free from the curse was over. One of them had the Wolfgang genes.

"We should kill the baby while it is early" one of the family member suggested.

"No, it can't be. It's not my child's fault he inherited the curse" Payne's mother replied while crying.

She then pleaded to the head of the clan to let the child live. After some time thinking, the head would made his decision.

"I'll allow the child to live as long as he's locked in the basement of this household"

Payne would then grew up behind the cold bars. His mother visits him there every single day to provide everything he needed. However, there is one thing that he needed the most.

"Mom, when am I able to go out?" a 5 year old Payne asked.

His mother was unsure how to answer him. She had this uncertainty in her face and she didn't want to lie to the poor kid.

"When you're strong enough sweetie" She answered.

The following years, his mother would become his tutor. As his knowledge began to expand, the curiosity of what it's like in the outside world becomes bigger and bigger.

Meanwhile, a rogue monster by the name of Baron was notorious for different acts of heinous crimes. Robbery, killings, all of that. He was a cold blooded killer, ready to kill anyone who's in the way. Despite all of this, there is one thing that he was fascinated by. It was meeting his fellow monsters.

He received a word that the Rupus Clan were hiding a beast in their basement. Baron was curious about it and thought of a plan to sneak inside. He wants to see it physically if the rumors were true.

On the night of Christmas, he sneaked his way inside the Rupus household. He was swift and silent, and he managed to get in without getting caught. It was easy for him since he was a professional thief as well.

He managed to reach the basement of the Rupus household. Baron did not expect what he saw right there.

"A child?" he said.

Payne noticed him. No one has ever visited him aside from his mom for a very long time.

"Who are you" Payne asked.

"Just some random guy passing by" Baron replied.

"You shouldn't be here" Payne said.

"Why not? I mean everything has a purpose right? Like you do. Why are you locked up in this hellish room?" Baron said as he walks closer to Payne.

"I'd turn into a monster every night when the moon is out" Payne said.

"A monster huh? Interesting.." Baron said.

Baron was reaching some wires from his pocket. He held the bars before he continued speaking.

"Monsters aren't supposed to be locked up in the basement. They should be outside, enjoying what the inferior world has to offer" Baron explained.

"I can't" Payne replied.

"Why not?" Baron asked.

"My mom told me only the strong can have freedom. I'm not yet strong" Payne said.

"I don't believe that, clearly your mother is lying to you" Baron said.

"What do you mean?" Payne asked.

"Because if you aren't strong then why are they locking you up here?" Baron argued.

Payne began to think deeply. He was starting to understand everything. He knew the man standing in front of him wasn't lying. All this time he was craving to be free.

"Look, those people that told you that, clearly they were lying. Wanna know why? Because they're afraid of you. They're insecure because they're inferior to you. They feel threatened because you are strong. Don't listen to what they are saying" Baron explained.

Baron was able to finish what he was doing. He was able to replicate a key from the wires.

"I'll open this gate and I want you to turn into your monster form, alright? I'm somehow a great fighter myself. If you managed to beat me or come close enough, it means you're strong" Baron said.

He opened the gate. Payne was still hesitant going outside.

"I can't do this" Payne said.

The two of them didn't noticed that the moon finally appeared. Payne started to transform into the vicious beast. Filled with internal rage and bloodlust, he was ready to attack everyone in sight. That includes Baron.

"Fantastic! A worthy opponent" Baron shouted.

Baron then turned into a monster as well. The two fought inside the basement. They were equal for the duration of the fight. Later that fight, Payne became more vicious and wilder. He started to gain the upper hand. He threw Baron to the wall so hard that it made Baron unconscious.

Their fight caused commotion outside. The clan were feasting outside because it was Christmas Eve. One of the family members went to check what's going on. Payne was about to finish Baron when he saw that person.

"OH NO!" the person shouted.

He would then became a victim of Payne's wrath. Payne brutally murders the person. He then saw the way out. He quickly went up to exit the basement. For the very first time in his life since he was born, he is in the outside world.

Payne then started to slaughter every single person he saw there. There's no family family for him. For his vicious state of mind, they're all targets.

The Head was alarmed by all of this happening. He quickly ordered everyone to fight back. Payne's mother however, told the Clan Head she'll try to talk some sense to her son. She approached the raging beast, hoping she'll be able to calm him down.

"Payne.. It's your mom here. Calm down sweetie, everything's gonna be alri-"

She wasn't able to finish her sentence as she died in the hands of her own son. Payne's father was enrage by what he saw. He charged against the beast, hoping to kill him with a knife he's holding. In the end, he wasn't successful. Payne beheaded his own father.

Payne then proceeded to kill everyone. He spared no one. He fully ate the corpse of Clan Head after.

It started to snow heavily afterwards. It was cold and dark, and the clouds began to cover the moon. Payne reverted back to his human form and regained his consciousness.

Payne saw the scattered corpses around him. His mother's was there as well as the headless corpse of his father. The clothes worn by the Clan Head were there as well. He was speechless the entire time. All of his family were dead. Every single one was lying in the ground. He could not process properly what he is witnessing right now.

In denial of his actions, he broke down completely. He cried and cried at the top of his lungs. After that, he ran away from all of that. He kept running and running with no certain destination in mind.

After some time, the Phantom Hunters arrived at the scene. They were surprised to see all of the dead people right there.

"What the hell is going on?" Kylee said.

"Aren't we supposed to be here to kill everyone out?" Shaun said.

They inspected the area further more to confirm if everyone was dead.

"No one was spared" Khris said.

"What do we do now Al?" Floyd asked.

"I have no idea what happened here, but this is very convenient for us. Let's just clean everything up" Al said.

Baron finally regained consciousness. He stood up and went his way back up.

"That bastard did me dirty" he said.

He went out of the basement and saw the Phantom Hunters there disposing the bodies.

"There's a survivor" Shaun alerted the group.

The Phantom Hunters then attacked Baron. Baron was clearly heavily outnumbered and could barely keep up. He was still processing what was going on and was a bit rusty from his fight with Payne.

Knowing that he's not gonna win the fight, he tried to escape. He barely managed to do it as the Phantom Hunters proved to be a terror for him. As a parting gift, the fight left him with a huge scar in his right eye. It serves as reminder that the Phantom Hunters is nothing to mess with. This would haunt him for the rest of his life.

"Should we follow him Al?" Kylee asked.

"No, I think it's enough. We'll give him that as a Christmas present" Al replied.

"That guy might be the one responsible for all of this, I guess it's only fair to spare someone this time" Floyd commented.

"Let's finish the cleaning up here so we could hurry up and go back to the mansion. Don't wanna spend the rest of the Christmas Eve doing some dirty work" Al said.

Meanwhile, Payne's escape from the scene led him to the town of Arcane. He had a rough time as he accidentally fell from a high place. It gave him scars in his entire body. The scars was nothing in comparison to the scars that he have inside his heart.

He was walking endlessly until his body finally gave up. He collapsed in front of the Garnett's house and the rest was history.
