Chapter Six

I see Kayden waiting by his bike, his helmet in his hand, his leather jacket back on and a look of determination written on his face. I take a deep breath before slowly making my way down the steps, not wanting to fall on my face and give him another reason to call me weak.

Is he really going to make me fight him? Where is he going to take me? To the ring maybe? and what about school? I can't skip school, I have never missed a day of school in my entire life, so why would I now.

"Come on, I don't have all day you know!" Kayden shouts over to me. I look back at the school for a second. What would I rather do, go to the ring and beat up Kayden West, or stay in school and have to deal with the bullies for another three hours? I turn my head away from the school and head towards Kayden again. I think I would definitely prefer beating up Kayden and wiping that stupid smirk off of his face.

Kayden's eyes never leave me as I make my way over to him and his bike. Is he actually going to let me ride on the back of his bike with him? He never lets anyone on his bike, especially not girls; so why would he let me? Maybe he's just going throw me off half way to wherever he is going to take me.

"About time, now put this on," he throws his helmet at me once I am close enough. I scramble to catch it, not wanting to be blamed for breaking it. Gracefully, he swings his leg over the motorbike, sitting close enough to the handle bars so that there is enough room behind him for me to sit. But I can't move; I'm stood staring blankly between the helmet in my hands, the motorbike and Kayden who is staring at me expectantly.

"Come here," he commands after a minute of me not moving. Without my consent, my legs move so that I am stood next to Kayden, my head bowed, not daring to look up at him. He pulls the helmet out of my grasp, and with slow movements, he lifts my head.

"We're going to have to take these off," he whispers, before his fingers are gently grabbing my glasses from my face. I blink up at him, his face being slightly blurry now, but I can still make out the heated gaze that is slowly dancing around in his eyes. However, before I can get too caught up, he pushes the helmet over my head, making me gasp at the sudden action. The helmet is heavier than I thought it would be, weighing my head down a little, but it is not tight, the helmet obviously being fitted for Kayden's head, which is evidently bigger than mine.

"It suits you," I'm not sure if he is laughing at me or actually complimenting me, but I blush either way, thankful for the helmet covering my cheeks. "Alright, come on then, up we come," he holds out his hand for me to take, to help me up onto the bike, and I take it gratefully, knowing that I would probably fall off without it. The second that I positioned myself onto the back of the bike Kayden turns around slightly, looking me in the eyes.

"I need you to hold on tight okay, you need to relax a little as well, you being tense on the back of the bike will not help me steer, and we don't want an accident now do we?" I shake my head at his question, my eyes widening as I realise that I am indeed on the back of Kayden's bike and we are going to be riding to a place that I am unaware of right now.

"Whatever you do, don't let go," and with those as his parting words, he turns around and begins to ride out of the parking lot. With a squeak of surprise, I wrap my arms around him, holding on tight to his waist, not wanting to fall off of the death trap. Kayden tenses at the contact, and I go to move my arms, realising that I have probably overstepped a line, but before I can, he is grabbing my hands and placing them back to where they were, before placing his hands back onto the handle bars and speeding off.

I sigh, as the feeling of the wind rushing past makes me a feel at peace and relaxed for the first time in awhile. Slowly, I rest my head on Kayden's back making him tense again, but soon he relaxes, revving the bike with a loud roar. I occupy my mind by looking at the blurring scenery rushing past us. Its hard to be able to make anything out without my glasses, but I don't really mind all that much; I'm honestly just glad to not be in school with all of the taunting and laughing. I wouldn't mind it so much if I had Erin by side, people tend to not make fun of me so obviously when Erin is around. I wonder if she will ever be my friend again, I can't imagine being without her for the rest of my life; she is basically like a sister to me.

Before I know it, I feel the bike begin to slow. I lift my head up off of Kayden's back, and try to look at where we are. I have to squint, but I am not surprised when I see the familiar sign of the ring in front of us. He really is going to make me fight him.

Kayden says nothing as he gracefully gets off of the bike, turning to look through the doors of the ring, seemingly satisfied with what he sees as his nods his head and turns back around to look at me.

I flinch a little as his arms reach out to me, but then I feel the helmet being tugged off of my head. I reach my hands up, trying desperately to fix my hair, knowing that it will probably be sticking up in every direction now. I huff, settling with just putting it up in to a ponytail; I might as well if we are really going to fight in a minute.

"Come on then," Kayden mutters, his eyes darkening as he looks at me. I wonder what he is thinking about to make him look so confused and angry.

"Can I have my glasses please?" I ask, my voice quiet, not wanting to disturb him from his thoughts, but I need to be able to see to be able to get off of this bike without falling flat on my face. Kayden shuffles around in his leather jacket pocket before pulling out my glasses and silently giving them to me, clearly still caught up in his thoughts. I slip them on my face, blinking a couple of times to refocus my vision.

I lean one foot onto the pavement and swing the other over the bike, trying to copy what Kayden has done, but my foot catches on the seat, causing my to stumble forward and lose my footing. I close my eyes, waiting for the painful connection of my face to the floor, but arms reach out and grab me before I am able to fall all the way. I am brought up to stand, but the arms keep their hold on my waist, not letting me go.

"You should be more careful" a deep voice whispers lowly. I look up into Kayden's eyes, blushing at how his heated blue eyes are burning into mine already, his gaze penetrating my soul as he continues to stare at me. I try to pull myself out of his grip, but his arms only tighten further around my waist, pulling me flush against him.

"Kayden," I mumble quietly, and I realise that this is the first time that I have spoken his name out loud. His body stiffens a little, his eyes widen and his jaw clenches, as if his name is a code word to shut him down like you would a computer. Abruptly, he seems to snap back to himself and he moves away from me, making me stumble a little at the loss of balance his movement causes.

"Come on," He mumbles, his voice tight and reserved. His back straightens as he turns towards the doors of the club, not giving me a second glance. I stand in the same spot for a second, trying to comprehend what just happened. It was like that night of Tom and Kayden's fight all over again. He had the same heated look in his eyes that he had had that night, like he wanted to do something, but both times he stopped himself. What is that he wanted to do though?

I walk in through the ring doors, the smell of sweat and the sound of fists meeting skin hits me. I look around and see Kayden talking to one of the trainers here, the two of them being caught up in a heated conversation. They trainer is younger than the rest of them, I'd say maybe a couple of years older than Kayden and I, 21 maybe? He has long blonde hair, which he has tied up into a man bun on top of his head. He is wearing no shirt and gym shorts, typical attire for someone who has been training, and by the looks of the sweat on his chest, I'd say he has definitely been training.

I slowly make my way over to them, ignoring the looks and comments about a girl being here. Its not uncommon for a female to be in the ring, but obviously they've never seen one my age. I don't even think I've seen a girl my age here before. I know that I ever fought against one.

"Who is this?" the trainer questions as I get closer to the two of them. Kayden turns around and smirks at me slightly. He probably thought that I had chickened out.

"This is Drew, she is going to be training with me today," at this the man laughs, full blown, stomach grabbing, bellyaching laugh. I glare at his reaction, hoping that he can feel my anger through his closed eyes. How dare this man think that he can laugh at me.

"Did I say something funny?" Kayden growls at the man, haltering his laughter instantly as, he gulps, looking from me to Kayden.

"I just don't think she will be able to keep up with you is all," his voice is a quiet mumble now, all humour gone from his tone.

"Well, we'll see about that, won't we?" He turns to look at me, amusement in his eyes as he takes in my flushed face and angry eyes which are pointed towards the man standing opposite us. Kayden takes my hand suddenly, making me jump at the sudden contact of skin on skin. He leads me over to the now deserted ring, where he gracefully jumps up onto, after taking his shoes off of course.

I follow suit, bending down and taking my shoes and socks off, placing them down neatly next to his. I pull my hoodie off, thankful that I had chosen to wear a sports bra underneath it today. I can't help but blush as Kayden's eyes look me up and down, his usual bright blue eyes beginning to darken.

With ease, I pull myself into the ring, ignoring Kayden's eyes as they follow my every movement. I go over to one of the corners, grabbing the tape that is placed there and go about wrapping my hands up.

"You seem to be awfully good at that for someone who doesn't know how to fight," Kayden says, his voice a little husky. I look up at him, blushing as his eyes are still wandering all over my body, but I try to ignore it, focusing my attention back on strapping my hands up. I test the tape out by clenching and unclenching my fists. I move into the middle of the ring opposite Kayden again, letting him know that I am ready.

"I'm not going to go easy on you," he says as he fixes his own tape, his eyes still not leaving mine, however.

"Good, because I'm not going to go easy on you either," I shrug, ignoring the wave of anxiety that is building up inside of me. I haven't actually had a fight in years. Tom would never let me fight against him because according to him, 'I would not challenge is skills enough'. Thinking about that makes my blood boil.

The starting bell chimes suddenly, and I shake the thoughts from my mind and focus on Kayden who is currently circling me, and I follow suit, beginning to circle him, but I don't take my eyes off of his, not wanting him to know where I am thinking about attacking. However, Kayden is not doing the same, his eyes are darting all over the place, but they settle on the right side of my stomach, obviously picking that as my weakest spot. I smile at him a little as he lunges forward, aiming for the exact spot I thought he was going for. Before he is able to make contact, I dodge to the left, grabbing his arm on the way and swinging him out onto to the ropes of the ring. Kayden bounces for a second before straightening himself up, turning his now burning gaze back to me; determination now settling on his face.

"As I said before, you're predictable," I smile sweetly at him, which only makes his eyes burn brighter with anger. He charges at me, his eyes darting to my right side again, I shake my head a little. Did he learn nothing last time? It's obvious that he is trying to use his size and weight against me, but before he is able to get close enough to me to strike, I run a little at him, making his steps falter, surprised at my sudden action. I jump up a little, swing my leg out, knocking him to his back with a resounding bang. I quickly pick myself up off of the floor, circling around the still downed Kayden.

"You're going to have to try harder than that if you want to beat me," I say through a light chuckle, but I don't take my eyes off of him, trying to not let my arrogance get the better of me. If I do that then my fighting will only become sloppy.

"Maybe I underestimated you," he chokes out, making me laugh a little harder than I thought I would.

"Yeah no shit," I utter back through my laughs. That is definitely the understatement of the century. "Now get back up so I can beat your ass down again," Kayden growls slightly at my remark, pushing himself up off of the floor with ease, his eyes turning cold as they look at me, the heated look from earlier completely washed away with anger and determination. I can hear that everyone in the club has come to watch us fight, but I don't take my focus off of Kayden for a second, making sure that I don't miss a single thing.

We circle each other again, Kayden's eyes now staying on mine the entire time, his gaze no longer darting across my body, but he is still predictable. His body moves and adjusts to the side of the body that he wants to attack, his feet mimicking where he is going to aim next. I really do wonder how he has gotten so far in the ring with the little technique that he has. I suppose not a lot of the men I have watched fight have any form of decent technique either if I'm being completely honest.

Before I realise what is happening, Kayden is charging at me again, forcing me out of my thoughts. I quickly duck under his arm, but as if expecting it, Kayden quickly spins around, grabbing my waist, pulling me back and slamming me down onto the floor. I hiss out in pain as my back makes contact with the mat. Kayden leans down over me, he grabs my hands in both of his, pulling them above my head, pinning me to the mat, halting any attempt at being able to escape.

"Got you now," Kayden whisper into my ear. I can't help but blush at how close we are, especially with the little amount of clothing we have on. I try to wiggle my hands out of his, but his grip only tightens further, surely bruising the sensitive skin.

"You can't get out Drew, you might as well tap out," Kayden says with a smirk, victory clearly on his mind, but I just smirk back at him, leaning my head up so that our noses are almost touching, our laboured breathes mingling with each other's.

"Who says I want to get out, I'm actually enjoying this position quite a lot," I whisper to him, letting my eyes flicker down to his lips for a split second before looking back into his eyes. I watch with amusement as they darken at my words, his body stiffening as I lean my head a little closer to him until our lips are almost touching, but before they can, I swing my head forward, causing a resounding crack to echo through the ring. Kayden pushes himself up in both shock and pain, holding onto his now bleeding nose. I take this opportunity to pull my legs out, hooking them around his and flipping us over so that he is now the one on his back and I am the one hovering over him. I straddle him slightly, but I push my right knee into his groin, making him groan out in pain again.

"Maybe next time, you should think with your head, and not you dick," I whisper to him before pushing myself up, walking over to the corner of the ring and grabbing a towel that has been placed there by the trainer. I turn back around to see Kayden now sat up on the floor, still holding his bleeding nose.

I let out a deep sigh before making my way back over to him, crouching in front of him so that I can take a look at his nose. I pull his hands away from his face, hissing at the bruise already tainting his skin.

"I'm sorry," I whisper, dabbing his face with the towel, hoping to get rid of some of the blood that is now staining his chest and chin. This reminds me of the night of Tom and his fight, when Erin had punched him in the nose.

"Why did you stop fighting? You're an amazing fighter," I freeze at his words, my eyes snapping up to his. Did he really just compliment my fighting skills? I thought he was going to be mad that I made his nose bleed again.

"I-"

"Well, well, well, what do we have here then,"
