We find Jin lying spread eagle in the middle of a clearing in the forest. His body was slick with sweat and his breaths came out in great pants and huffs.

'I...I can't feel my legs!!'

.....

[ EARLIER ]

After leaving the mansion, Jin realized how stupid he had been to leave without some sort of disguise. He immediately bought a long black cloak with a hood from the local vendor to make his way through the people on the streets without being recognized. He knew just how popular he was with the citizens of his city and didn't want to deal with adoration right then.

On his way to the clearing, Jin continued his digestion of the memories in his head. He was able to find out that he was the Lord of a small city called Calla in the Northern region of Tor. He received the title last year after his parents suddenly died of an ailment. The same ailment that he was sure would've killed him too.

His city was peaceful for the most part, being far enough from the walls to avoid most of the war. The people were mainly blacksmiths and traders who aided in providing supplies to the Warriors at the wall.

He walked through the crowds of Dwarves and Elves, also passing by the occasional Orc or Hobbit. And he was basically in awe of it all. For someone who lived a normal life till now, seeing such things were simply amazing to him.

He walked towards a particular vendor that sold small star-shaped cakes. The cakes seemed to constantly change their color from blue to red and then to orange. There was even one that changed from gold to silver constantly.

'What in the world....?' He thought in his head.

He seemed to have stared at the cakes for too long anyway, because the vendor suddenly spoke up, "Hey, these aren't show-pieces. If you aren't buying something then you can just leave". she said

Jin looked up and saw she was a dwarf. A short girl that only reached up to his chest. She had short brown hair and a small nose. She also wore an apron stained with flour and dough.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare. How much for this?" Jin asked, pointing to one of the color-changing cakes.

"Two Quisi for a cake. But I can give you a discount if you buy three or more" She replied

Jin reached into his cloak and in his head thought of the bag of coins, 'equip' he thought, and he felt the weight in his hands again. He brought out a single gold coin and showed it to her. "How many cakes can I get with this?" He asked

Her eyes widened. "Wha-what? Where did you get a Draconi? Who are you?"

Jin was at first confused by her reaction. At least until his memories supplied him with knowledge of the currencies in this world. One Draconi was worth a thousand Quisi and it was very rare to even see a Draconi outside of noble houses. 'Yeah...I didn't think this through'.

As he was thinking, his cloak shifted in the wind and revealed his blue hair and eyes. Making the girl recognize him. "M-My Lord!!" She quickly stammered. "Forgive me for being rude!! I'll package a cake for you immediately!"

But before she could scramble away, he grabbed her by the hand. He looked around and sighed in relief that no one heard her when she called his title

"Look, I just want to buy some cakes" He quickly said while she was still stunned. He opened her palm and placed the coin in it while smiling at her. "Could you just give me three with a bottle of water?"

The girl nodded while flushing and quickly left to put the items in a bag. She returned and handed them to him. "T-Thank you for coming, My Lord" she then said with a bow.

"Uhmm, yeah..... You're welcome" He said. He then turned and started moving towards the clearing again.

As he got closer and closer to the forest, Jin noticed how the number of people seemed to be reducing. He could think of no reason why they would be doing that because in his memories he always went in there to relax. He was just grateful for the privacy.

'Are people hesitant to go in there because I go in there regularly?' He thought

He shrugged and simply continued into the forest. He reached the clearing from his memory and proceeded to hang his cloak on a tree branch at the edge of the clearing.

He did some stretches and then began his exercise

'Alright, let's get this over with'

....

One Long Training Montage Later

...

'I...I can't feel my legs!!' Jin screamed internally

After some time, he managed to drag himself over to the bag holding his food and grabbed the bottle of water. He drank most of it greedily and then rested his back on a tree

'I think this system is trying to kill me' he thought

"I doubt you would be alive if that were the case child," Spectre said as it materialized in front of him.

"Heh..... right..... So what now Spectre?" Jin asked. He took another drink of the water in his hands.

"Well, you are a Lord. So you have to return to your duties" Spectre replied.

" I suppose I should go back. Lynne will probably throw a fit if she finds out I went out alone"

Spectre - deciding that the conversation was over - simply dematerialized.

Jin sighed at this and stood up to leave the clearing. He was picking up the bag of cakes when suddenly the bushes on the opposite side of the clearing rustled. He immediately tensed his muscles, ready to bolt in the opposite direction. He wasn't ready to deal with any sort of wild animal right now.

The bushes rustled again, and then a small Wolf-cub darted out of it. From the way it looked, Jin could tell that it was running from something.

Then, from behind the cub came a large black bear. It was the same height as Jin on its four legs. And as it roared, Jin could make out rows upon rows of sharp teeth in its mouth.

"Fuck my life...."
