The Wolf-cub ran towards Jin and hid behind his leg with a small whimper. 'What are you doing!?? I don't want that thing after me!!'.
The bear locked its gaze on Jin, roared again, and then charged towards him at a frightening speed.
Jin meanwhile, picked up the cub and ran. He used every bit of his agility and skill to avoid the bears' claws while vaulting over fallen tree trunks and under branches.
Jin knew he couldn't draw the bear into the city, else it might hurt a lot of people.
Jin looked behind him and after realizing he managed to get far enough from the bear; dumped the Wolf cub and his bag of cakes into an opening in a tree trunk.
"Don't you dare eat my food" he said to the cub. It just tilted its head in response.
Jin sighed and started running in the opposite direction, drawing the bear to himself.
He ran for a while before finding and picking up a long stick on the floor that looked fairly sharp. He found a tall tree, and easily climbed to a branch at the top - though he had never climbed a tree before. And then he waited.
He didn't have to wait for long before hearing the snarl of the bear as it walked under the tree he was in. It sniffed the air and then rose into its hind legs to sniff higher.
Jin held his breath and waited for the perfect opportunity. Then once the bear landed on its front legs again, he jumped down from the tree onto the bear's back and stabbed it deep in the neck with the stick.
"ROAR!!!"
The bear roared and tried to throw him off. But Jin held on tight to the stick. He drew the stick out and tried to stab it in again, but was thrown off when the bear started crashing into trees.
He landed on his feet and held the stick in front of him as the bear turned to look in his direction. It charged at him and bit down on the stick snapping it in two. Jin then dodged to the side as it tried to bite him too.
He ducked the claw it swiped at him with and rolled under the bear to its other side.
The bear turned around and charged at him again. But Jin caught it's opened mouth with his two hands and stood his ground. The bear continued to try biting at him, throwing spit and drool everywhere, but couldn't get it of Jin's grip.
Then with a roar of his own, Jin stretched the bear's mouth till a resounding crack echoed through the forest. And then tore the mouth wide open.
The bear's struggles stopped immediately, and its body went limp on the forest floor.
Jin stumbled back and stared at his hands in surprise. He hadn't even used all his strength to kill the bear, it just seemed so easy.
A window popped up in front of Jin
< You killed the [Eastern Blacktooth Bear] >
< Rewards >
< Strength +1 >
< Stamina +1>
< 10 Exp >
< One Blacktooth Dagger >
Jin closed the window and then opened his inventory to see a Black dagger in one of the boxes. He equipped it and it appeared in his right hand.
It looked to be a regular hunting dagger and it was all black with a silver lining along the sharp edge. He admired it for a while before hearing some sounds coming from behind him.
He turned around and saw two more bears walking towards him. The bears saw the dead one at his feet and immediately charged at him with a roar.
Jin held the dagger in a reverse grip and after getting into a stance, charged the bears with a smile.

Jin closed the windows. He noticed that the reward he got for killing the bears were less than before. That must mean the stronger he got, the fewer rewards he would get.
He then opened his skill menu...

'Heh, stupid system.' He thought
He was about to unequip the dagger when he heard another noise coming from the bushes. Only to see the little wolf-cub dragging his bag of food to him. Relieved that he didn't have to fight again, he finally unequipped the dagger.
He walked closer to the cub and took the bag from it. Turned on his heel. And started walking away.
It was after he had walked for about two minutes that he noticed the cub following behind him. It tried climbing over a particularly large root but instead fell off and rolled onto the floor. It stood back up and sat in front of him.
Jin looked at it, surprised.
"What do you want?" He asked.
The cub simply titled its head in response. It then walked closer towards him and sat at his feet. It was just tall enough to reach his knees.
Jin bent down to its level and after some thought began scratching it behind the ears. "Do you wanna come home with me?". The Wolf yipped while wagging its tail.
A new window then popped up in front of Jin
< Would you like to make the [ Greyback Wolf ] your familiar? >
< Yes / No >
He accepted, and another window popped up in front of him
< Please name the familiar >
<...>
Jin looked at the Wolf and tried thinking of a name that could fit it. "Hey, what do you think of 'Luna' as a name?"
The Wolf sweat-dropped and then shook it's head, no.
"No? well I guess it's too feminine..... Then what about 'Vlad'?"
The Wolf shook it's head, no again.
"Ahh, but I liked 'Vlad'. Hmmm, then how about 'Fang'? Do you like it?"
The Wolf tilted its head and then yipped in approval
The system accepted the name and a new status window opened up over Fang's head
< Name: Fang >
< Race: Greyback Wolf >
< Occupation: Familiar >
< Exp: 0/30>
< Level: 1 >
< HP: 10/10 >
< Strength: 5 >
< Agility: 10 >
< Stamina: 5 >
'Well that's convenient' Jin thought
He then got up to leave back to the city, his new familiar in tow.
