Part 1

I had had enough with this school, with social classes, with the kind of people who think they're superior than others.

I had decided to do what I like no matter what others say, no matter what they expect of me, I knew I didn't have to make them happy, the only happiness that mattered is mine.

There were only a few minutes left to win the national volleyball championship, I was making the first move. I raised both hands, in my left hand i had the ball as I lifted it in the air and with my right hand throw it towards the opposite team. We had more points than the other team, but they wanted to respect the time, which was already running out. The team responded as soon as I threw the ball. Mitchie, my teammate and best friend responded seconds after the ball was thrown at us. It happened so fast when Alice responded before I could blink, the other team got distracted and dropped the ball.

I don't celebrate when we won a championship and it was not because I wasn't happy to win as always, the parties were not my style anymore ... Some time ago I would have organized the party myself and it had been a while since.

But somehow Mitchie convinced me to go to the one Alice was hosting at her house. I had no idea that my sister would be here, much less with Tyler, the most idiotic boy I know. Bonnie is too naive to realize what kind of person Tyler was.

I made my way from the front door to the kitchen where she was happily chatting with that moron.

I leaned against the wall near the door. "Bonnie, what are you doing here? I thought daddy had grounded you". I raised both eyebrows. She looked around uncomfortably.

She lowered her voice once she got close to me. "Talía, don't approach me in public." I rolled my eyes. She grabbed Tyler by the hand and led him out the back door, the moron winking at me made me clench my fists.

I felt a hand squeeze my shoulder. "Hey, let them go. Let's enjoy our triumph, we never do it together. "I heard Mitchie by my side. I nodded. "I won't babysit today, Bonnie can take care of herself." I shrugged it off and followed Mitchie with the purpose of getting drunk tonight.

I'd lost count of how many glasses of tequila we'd had together at this point. I still had enough energy when Mitchie and I climbed on the pool table to dance. We heard yelling and screaming but all I could think was that I deserved to be celebrating our team's triumph.

I felt a squeeze on my arm, I looked wildly at Mitchie. Blink twice for better vision.

"Talía, I need to go to the bathroom, come with me." We got down from the table with difficulty, two boys who I don't remember if they go to our same school helped us down.

We made our way through the crowd to the second floor where the bathroom was.

"Wait for me here, I'll be out in-in a minute." I waved her down.

I leaned against the wall until I sat on thefloor, I looked at the floor thinking how many stars can be seen from thebathroom window.

I heard footsteps in the distance, shrugging it off, and I kept thinking of the stars, without realizing that there were feet right in front of mine. I looked up slowly making a face because my head felt heavy.

Black boots, black pants, white t-shirt, shoulder-length wavy hair. I raised both eyebrows in question. I heard his hoarse voice in the distance.

"Aren't you a little too drunk to keep drinking tequila like it's water?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What?" I whispered. I raised my arm with difficulty to knock on Mitchie's door. A "I'll be out in a moment" was heard from the bathroom.

The guy kept looking at me with curiosity or mockery, I could bet on the second. "Who you are? Stop-stop looking at me. "I looked at him annoyed. I heard him laugh.

"The funniest thing I've ever seen"

I rolled my eyes. "I am not a comedian." I tried to get up slowly as Mitchie got out of the bathroom. I swear I saw her turn white.

"Jesus Christ."

"Is your name Jesusschrist?" I looked at him. I heard him laugh again. His laugh was beginning to annoy me.

"Mom said to come get you. What a way to make me feel at home as soon as I got off the plane "

"What what? M... chie you didn't tell me about your brother. I don't know if I should be offended by this. "I pouted raising my hands.

"Stepbrother." They said at the same time.

"Whatever"

"I need to get you home. Mom saw your video on the pool table and wants you to be home fast. Someone is in trouble. "He sang the last words. I gulped.

Mitchie nodded regretfully. "Talía will go with us, sleepover" She walked first towards the stairs, her unnamed brother gestured for me to go first, I made a face following Mitchie.

We went out into the open air, approaching his brother's car, which still had suitcases in the back seat.

On the way home, Mitchie was peacefully asleep in the front seat. I could feel the alcohol coming out of my system little by little, I could also feel his brother's eyes on me through the rear view mirror. That look was bothering me a bit but before I could say anything to him he had stopped the car at Mitchie's.

I helped her up the stairs to her room where we both threw ourselves onto her bed until we fell asleep.
