Chapter 3: The Ambush, part 1

Gordon and Wheatley continued moving through Aperture Science. Before they rounded a corner, they heard a mechanized feminine voice saying, "'The Rematch' would be an appropriate title for this chapter."

"*whispering* That sounds like a turret. But what does she mean by 'this chapter'? Who is she talking to? Normal turrets don't usually talk like that. They say things like, "Target sighted", "Target lost", "Are you still there?". They seem creepy and apathetic, but I think they may just be dangerous robots who know not what they do. Anyways, can you take a look around the corner and see if its safe to continue. If its not, you can try smashing the bot against a wall. Apparently, if what they sometimes say – which is "No hard feelings" - when they get destroyed is true and not just passive-aggressive, she will not hold a grudge against you."

When Gordon dropped Wheatley and looked around the corner, he saw a turret with its targeting laser beam shifting randomly along its path of sight. When the turret saw Gordon, she said, "An unloaded gun cannot kill anyone." Gordon ducked back and looked at Wheatley.

"Well, that is strange. Most turrets are known to fire on sight. If she hasn't shot a bullet at you, she's either out of them or she doesn't mean to hurt you. Of course, she may be trying to trick you, but you have armor, right? Now, she might try to shoot me, but if she does, I can transfer my personality into another core. Thankfully, there's decent Wi-Fi in this area. Aperture Science somehow succeeded in the science of transmitting data without being stymied by magnetic interference."

Gordon picked up Wheatley and reappeared around the corner. The turret then said, "The cake is a truth."

"What, the cake is a truth?!" Wheatley exclaimed, "Maybe she finally found a way to get some of GlaDOS's cake! Man, will I be able to grill her about snatching her goodies the next time we talk! Let's bring this turret along as soon as we find a management rail to put me on. No offense, but I like to have the freedom to move around again."

Gordon went down the hallway, past a broken Emancipation Grill, (which Wheatley didn't notice), and came to where the turret control center shooting range was.
