"Ok, I don't know if you can see it or not but there should be a small alcove on the other side of this room. Inside the alcove is the corrupted core override switch. You will need to press the button to override GlaDOS's vote and replace her with me. Also, watch out for bombs. You may be able to fling them back at GlaDOS if you need to."
"Don't listen to him, he'll just betray you like he did with Chell."
"I didn't really mean to betray her, I just had more power than I knew what to do with. Besides, I wouldn't have ended up sending her down below if you hadn't made me upset."
"Excuses, excuses, some other thing could come up and cause you to prevent Freeman from accomplishing his goal. Do either of you want that?"
"No, and I think Gordon would say no as well."
"Well, at least this time I'm not relying on neurotoxin. I'm using someone's else's ideas for once."
"Oh, so that's your trick up your sleeve."
"Yes, you guessed it."
"Wait, really?"
Gordon found his way out of the maze and pressed the button. Instead of overriding GlaDOS's vote, a portal appeared under Gordon – causing him to fall onto a conveyer belt heading towards an incinerator. Gordon jumped from one conveyor belt to some machinery to another belt until he reached a large platform.
"You may have one sleeve's trick, but I had a trick up another sleeve. Did you really think I would let you get to the override switch. I knew that Wheatley wouldn't be able to see, so I created a fake room with a fake override switch. Now, to get you out of that machine…" GlaDOS said as she lowered the sheets.
"Umm, Gordon, she's turning the machine around. I need you to come back if you're still alive."
"I may not be able to break into the override switch's circuitry, but I have found a way to place a piston into that machine. Goodbye Wheatley, you pesky little psychopath."
"Oh no, catch me Gordon, she's going to fling me into the portal!"
As GlaDOS ejected Wheatley from the machine, Gordon jumped back to the conveyor belt he had fallen onto. Wheatley rolled on the floor, fell through the portal, and then was picked up by Gordon's gravity gun. Then, Gordon went back again to the side he came from.
"Thanks, mate. Now I know you're a true friend."
"So, you're still alive. Oh well, I doubt you will be coming here again for a rematch now that you know you can't beat me. You may have escaped the fire of the Xen and the Combine, Mr. Freeman, but you have entered the frying pan of Aperture Science."
