Chapter 5

"You got suspended!"both Mireille's parents scream at her. They're all sitting at the dinning table but not because they got to eat. Mireille sighs.

"I accidentally hit into the girl, it was an accident and now they're limiting my chances of getting a job!" Mireille says exasperated at the government and the ranks.

Mireille can't understand why a simple mistake is such a national issue that the officials had to come. She didn't mind the ranks but the fact that people aren't treated fairly is another problem all by itself.

"Listen Mireille, you can't make dumb mistakes,"Mireille's father says angry at her and not the situation, he doesn't even seem to care about her feelings.

"If you're suspended you can't be a teacher, maybe not even a police officer,"Mireille's mother says with sadness, her eyes becoming watery at the thought,"everyone will be skeptical and they might not want to accept you because they may believe you'll be a troublemaker."

"I have a lot on my mind,"Mireille says with annoyance because she can see they don't care about her but themselves and the way people will view them, they only care about the society and it's rules not their daughter.

She escapes to her room for only a matter of seconds. Sky then starts screaming and crying as a knock echoes through the home.

"Hello," the government official states, "we have to confiscate your children because of their unruly behavior."

"What? But sir! We have done everything according to law!" Mireille's mother says with tears pouring from her eyes, the look of shock and desperation apparent on her tired, worn-out face.

The government official's eyes move towards Mireille, as she had rushed into the room at her mother's outcry.

"Mireille, are you willing to come with me so we can make a deal? Now!"the officials asks like she has a choice.

She nods nervously, kisses her mum and dad goodbye then leaves. Mireille gets into the government vehicle, the vehicle is black unlike the other cars in the society, otherwise its a normal car. Mireille is taken to the leader of the Seventh Realm. As she can see the big seven coming into view, the scenery changes into a more upper class area and various trees and flowers are scattered randomly. The Amber houses soon come into view and then the vehicle stops. The official leads her into the Amber building.

"She's here Mr. and Mrs. Amber,"the official states then he leaves her standing in the room all alone. Red and Amber claiming the whole room, no furniture, only two chairs and her in that room.

"Hello Mireille,"they state in unison.

"Sir, Ma'am,"Mireille says as a greeting.

"You have to agree to something we have decided for a few kids, for their own good. A fully mixed school where you will be trained properly, removing your track record,"the man states seriously, giving no room for discussion.

"Mum! Dad! What's going on? Why'd you call me?"a young boy asks politely, as he watches the Blue girl trembling before his parents.

"We are calling in all the students who are going to be enrolled in that old school for disciplinary guidance. Including you," his mum says sweetly.

"What? But mum I've been trying to do as you have asked," he says sadly, as he sees the Blue girl now feels awkward because of their conversation that seems to be for family only.

"No Enzo,"Enzo's mother says authoritatively, "meet Mireille, your new classmate for the next year."

Enzo just stares at her because she isn't making eye contact with him. A few others are dragged in including Dysnomia and Socrates.

The next school year is about to start so everyone has to prepare. A few others have been at the school for years based on their behaviour. This school is 100% government run so all laws are strictly followed. Dysnomia is on the bus already to her old orphanage, because that is the only neutral grounds she knows of and she hasn't seen it for almost a year now.

Mireille cries and hugs her parents.

"Goodbye! I will miss you," she says with sadness, "I'll only be back when I'm eighteen."

Socrates hugs his mum and dad, he then says, "I'll only see you at my graduation when I'm nineteen."

His parents sigh at this sad outcome for their son.

Enzo sighs and climbs into the bus not bothering to say goodbye to his parents who have practically ruined his life. The bus colored as the flag, a rainbow and the Seventh Realm written over it, but most of the bus is white.

They all arrive there rather gloomy when they're told that they have to take a ship there. To ensure no escape they are living on an island. The teachers are already there and so are pupils from the years before who haven't been allowed to leave. In the ship, many fights break out with past students, but the few new students keep a low profile to avoid any further stay here. If, in your final year, you still aren't ready for society its believed that you are killed so fear stops many from their final years being a bad one here.

When they arrive, colors are grouped together and counted. Everyone is randomly numbered and put into premeditated numbered rooms that are randomly placed. All colors are mixed but genders are separated in rooms only. Control is the key. Many students have heterochromia and haven't decided their chosen color yet so they're in the most fights due to ranking. The island consists of a forest that has a path leading to the school which is situated on a very high hill. From the hill you can see the ocean, but the mainland is barely in view, you can just see the edge.

Most students don't form a relationship with their fellow roommates due to them being tell-tales. Everyone gathers themselves into the assembly hall.

"Classes, groups activities and friendships can all be mixed, but dating is prohibited. All laws from outside must be followed when visitors arrive as part of the grade. Grades will be throughly evaluated, but most grades come from us watching your behaviour," the female principle (official) states seriously, "we are watching you all."

Classes are distributed by age, most classes are made up of no more than ten people in each age group, so from the age of fourteen you can come to this place and you leave at nineteen, depending on your grades.

"Sixteen-year-olds! You will be paired with an opposite gender partner and be working in all your classes like this," the Amber teacher says seriously, no hint of emotion or feeling.

Most of the teachers are male, only the principle is female. Dysnomia is paired with Enzo. Socrates and Mireille are paired with partners in their allotted age group.

"Nice to see you again, Dysnomia,"Enzo says happily, his smile unfaltering.

"Well your friend reported my behavior and so I ended up here, going to school," Dysnomia says a bit annoyed at Clytemnestra but her face lights up at the thought that she's back at school.

"Your happy about it?"Enzo asks seriously, as he's quite disappointed with the isolation factor.

"If I die, I die here! I can't change some things about me. Well its not that I can't per se, but that I won't," Dysnomia says in all honesty.

"You will be writing the laws, today, of the country. The ones you memorized in third grade," the teacher says, her Amber eyes piercing every soul, showing how annoyed she is to be here.

"Um Enzo, do you know the laws by heart?"Dysnomia asks worriedly.

"Yes why?"Enzo asks curiously as he sees her dilemma.

"Well I skipped third grade, so I never really learnt them," Dysnomia says honestly, as she can't remember ever going to that year.

"Oh!" Enzo says a bit confused since he knows you aren't allowed to skip grades.

During lunch break, Mireille is sitting by herself when Dysnomia spots her and recognizes her picture.

"Hey Mireille right?" Dysnomia asks politely, as she smiles at the timid Blue girl.

"I guess everyone should know," Mireille says with guilt clear in her eyes.

"Can I sit here?"Dysnomia asks sweetly, as she notices Mireille's hurt.

"Sure why not!"Mireille exclaims happily, the guilt disappearing.

The cafeteria starts to fill up with more students, the chatter getting louder. Socrates spots Mireille and makes his way to the table, but sees a Brown sitting by her and making conversation.

"Hey Mireille, this place is weird. They let us do what we want, so how does this prepare us for society?"Socrates says and asks as he takes his seat at the table. The marble benches making it colder in the air conditioned room.

"Oh! Um...we have the freedom to choose now, but in the future we won't so they want to see if we will do it voluntarily or not, most are successful," Dysnomia says even thought the question wasn't directed at her, "oh sorry! I shouldn't have interrupted." Dysnomia's face shows her apology is sincere.

"Its ok,"Mireille says kindly. Enzo then sees Dysnomia and her group so he decides to join them.

"May I join?"Enzo asks politely.

"Yes future leader," Socrates states in a kind of mocking way.

"What do you guys think of all this?"Dysnomia asks, curious to see the opinions of her new friend group.

"Well it's a way to have control," Socrates says straight-forwardly.

"They always claim heartache is the best way to control people,"Mireille says honestly.

"Well I don't know, my parents don't talk about it. They just follow it like they've been brainwashed. I'm here cause they want to give my rightful place to my seven-year-old brother,"Enzo says with sadness and frustration at the unfair circumstances that no one in his friend group can relate to.

"So?"Socrates asks.

"He's adopted!"Enzo nearly screams over the chatter of the cafeteria, only calling for a few stares in his direction.

"Who else has an adopted sibling?" Mireille asks, "I do."

"I do,"Socrates says quickly so he can continue eating.

"I do,"Enzo says as he drinks his milkshake that looks like vomit.

"You Dysnomia?"Mireille reiterates.

"Well I'm more of the one who gets adopted,"Dysnomia says with a hint of sadness as she looks at Enzo drinking his smoothie drink.

They all nod sadly at her situation.
