Chapter 5

Rain's POV

We are currently walking to head back at Allen's. I'm kinda not ok. Julie is taking glances at me from time to time. She knows that I'm not in a good mood right from the morning and that scene just made it worst. I know that she's worried for me.

I let out a sigh before I started talking to her.

"Uhm, Julie." I said to to her

"Yep?" She answered

"Thank you for stopping me in the mall. I'm not in a good mood from the start and that incident added. I didn't calm myself..." I said with my head down

She smiled at me. "Of course, you are my friend. I know you and I understand you."

I smiled back and just in time, we arrived in front of Allen's house. We ring the bell and Allen opened the door for us.

"Hey, come in." He said and he let us in

"What took you so long?" Asked Louie as he come towards us

"Uhh..." Julie started but I slightly pinch her arm

Louie caught it and he stare at us demanding for an answer.

"It's nothing oppa, really. Sorry if we made you worry." I said calling him oppa. It's my way of being sweet so he won't be worried

/*Oppa is a Korean word a girl uses to call her older brother*/

Louie let out a sigh and we all went up to the rooftop.

"Allen, Louie come down, I need help" Said Mei when we were halfway on the stairs

"We'll be back." Louie said and they hurriedly went back down

I stare in front. There's a lot of people now compared earlier.

"Ehh, there's a lot of people here." I said

"Yeah. I don't even know some of them. Do you?" Julie asked

"Nope. Maybe they are Allen's friends?" I answered

"Maybe. But where is Kate?" Julie asked again as she scanned the crowd

I also looked for her but I can't see her.

"Ugh, can't find her!" I responded

"I see her, there!" Julie said as she pointed to the direction by the window and there she is talking to some of the guests. Seems like she knows them too.

"Then, let's go to her. We need to give her these." I raised the paper bag with the supplies we bought

And so, we went right behind her.

"Excuse me, Kate." Julie said and they all turn towards us.

Aish, it's awkward! ≧◡≦

"Oh, there you are. I thought the papers and strings tied you up." She said jokingly.

"Funny, hahaha." I whispered to myself

Julie elbowed me. She heard what I had said. I just rolled my eyes on her.

"Here." I said to Kate when I give her the things we bought

"Thanks. I'll just prepare these." She excuses herself

"We'll go too." Julie said as respect and we walked towards 2 seats near the door.

"When will Allen start the activity? I'm bored." I complained

"I don't know. I'm bored too and I feel sleepy." Julie said beside me

I'm really bored. I'm not much of a social person. If Julie didn't fetch me and if Louie didn't ask me to come, I won't be here.

"A miracle that you're not using your phone now." I looked at Julie

"I don't want to. Too lazy to do anything on my phone." She explained

"How about phoning Daph? She should be here with us. Allen invited her." I said, remembering that I didn't see Daph yet

"I'll try calling her." She said

I saw her reach for her phone in her bag and started dialing on it. I stare at her while she put it on her ear and put it down, then dial again. She do it again and again.

"Why, is she not answering?" I asked when I saw her putting it down for the nth time

She nodded not taking her eyes from her phone.

"Try calling her one more time. If she will not pick up, we'll go to her house." I said

She nodded.

After a minute, Daph answered and Julie puts her speaker on.

"Hello" Daphne said finally picking up her phone

"Thank goodness, you answered." Julie said

"Why did you call?" Daphne demanded

"Wow very nice of you." I joined in

"I say hello first." Daphne said

"Tss. When will you come here?" I asked

"Come where?" Asked Daphne on the other line

"Here at Allen's, of course. We're having an activity, remember." Julie said

"Oh yeah, sorry but I won't come. I'm doing school activities right now. My teachers gave us ton of stuffs to do." Daphne said with a sad voice

"Oh, okay then. We understand. Thank you and sorry for interrupting." Julie said

"No, its ok. It'll be wrong to let you wait for me there or you might waist your energy going here not knowing I can't come." Daph said

"Yeah, you're right." Julie said

"I'm really sorry, guys." Daph apologized again

"It's ok. We understand." Julie assured her

We bid Daph goodbye and she hanged up.

"So it's just us, huh." I said looking at empty space

"Yeah." Julie said

We both sighed.

So it's just the 2 of us again. Me and Julie, among these people and some of them we don't even know.

"Why are you gloomy?"

I stopped thinking and I stare at the one who talked which is Louie.

*sighed*

"Daph can't come. So it's just us" I answered

"Oh. But there are a lot of people here. Go and mingle with them. You might have new friends." He said

"You know that won't work. I'm not quite a social person, remember." I stated

Louie sighed. "In that case, I'll be here with you then." He aimed to seat beside me but I stopped him

"You can't stay with us 'cause you have to entertain your guests." I said

"You're right. I have to entertain them. But I can't leave you both." He said and he continued sitting beside me

I just rolled my eyes at him. He knows me really well. He's like my older brother.

"Why are you smiling?" Louie asked looking intently at me

"Who, me?" I asked back

He nodded

"Nah, I think you're just hallucinating." I answered

I immediately purse my lips to stop from smiling. I didn't know that I was smiling.

At that time, Allen stand in the center so we focused our gaze to him.

"Hello to you all. Thank you for coming here. We'll start our activity now. Let me call on Sky and Jeff, our emcees for today." He said and he leave the center

Sky and Jeff replaced him

"Thank you, Allen. Hello guys! I'm Jeff, the most handsome ever" Jeff said energetically

"And I'm Sky, the prettiest of 'em all!" Sky said not wanting to be left behind

"And we are, your emcees for today." They both said

Everyone clapped in response.

"There are a lot of people here. I don't know some of them." Sky said to Jeff

"You're right partner. I don't know others as well and I assume others don't know some too." Jeff said

"It's perfect for our first game then. Do you want to know what is it?" Sky asked the crowd

"Yes!" The crowd answered

"Drum roll, please." Sky said

The crowd pound on the chairs for drum roll effect.

Jeff halted the crowd and he announced the first game. "It's.... Getting To Know You game." Jeff said

"That's always the first game. " I said quietly but loud enough for my 2 companion to hear

"As always." Julie replied

Louie just chuckled beside me.

"Alright, let's start our first game. All should join, no exceptions. Even us emcees will join." Sky said

"Everyone take your seats and form a circle around me and Sky. Kate will give paper and pen to every one of us." Jeff said

Everybody moved their seats forming a circle around the emcees and Kate give us a pen and paper each.

"So this is the purpose of the paper we bought." I said to Louie

"Yeah." He smiled "You guys picked nice designs." He said while admiring the paper's design

"Of course." Julie said proudly

"Does everyone have a pen and paper?" Asked Jeff

"Yeah." We all answered

"So everyone-" Sky didn't finish what she was saying because someone spoke

"I'm sorry, I'm late." Someone said from the door
