CH.3 The abandoned room.

Lisa left the balcony with Alexie behind her heading to her room. The moment she saw Alexie her motherly instinct took over her.

No one could replace Tommy. That didn't mean she can't take care of a little boy who's in desperate need of love and protection.

Alexie can fill the emptiness in her heart. Inside her, she desperately wished the boy will stay with her. She didn't even want to give him to his parents that's if he had decent parents.

Having an abusive father gives Lisa the perfect reason to take care of Alexie. An innocent child-like Alexie has the right to feel love and safety.

As they both walked into the master bedroom Lisa headed to her nightstand taking Alexie's medicine. Alexie cringed he hates nothing more than medicine.

Seeing Alexie's expression Lisa smiled. Everything about him reminds her of Tommy. She feels happy about finding Alexie. She couldn't imagine a homeless child. She didn't want to imagine it.

The right place for children is inside their home with their beloved family. Not on the streets. Alexie was just like any other child for her. However, Alexie will officially become her child.

She was determined to give him all the love and care he needed.

Lisa gave Alexie his medicine followed by a cup of water to erase the taste of the medicine. "Alex, sweetie how old are you?"

"I will be six in May, " Alexie said with a smile. Lias smiled back thinking how cute Alexie is. Leaving aside that he reminded her of her son that she had missed so much. Alexie looked special on his own. Just a smile from him warmed her heart.

"You're a big boy, huh?" Lisa said Jokingly making Alex blush. "Alright, we will go out today to get you some stuff, ok?"

"Stuff?" Alexie titled his head in confusion. Lisa smiled and kissed his forehead.

"Yes, stuff, you will see when we go, " Lisa said and Alexie nodded.

Someone knocked on the door and enterd. Alexie looked up to see that it was the same lady from before. "Angus, can you please take Alexie to Tommy's room, and see if there's anything that will fit him?"

Angus looked surprised. Tommy's room was locked the moment Lisa came back from the funeral and was locked ever since. Lisa didn't want to enter the room where everything inside will remind her of Tommy.

The moment the room was locked Lisa's heart locked as well. Angus thought that Lisa would never survive the loss of Tommy. It seemed however that Alexie was going to change all that. Angus never gave a thought about fate or luck. She knew that Lisa believes in fate and it seemed she was right.

"Sure, " Angus said extending her hand to Alexie. Alexie hesitated at first but he looked at Lisa who smiled and nodded. Alexie held Angus's hand as they left the room and enterd the room next to the master bedroom.

The room was as big as the master bedroom. The walls were blue with stars printed on the ceiling. The room was full of toy cars lego. The room was like a room any little boy will have. The room looked nice if not for all the dust. The room felt lonely and abandoned.

It didn't take long for Alexie to know who was the owner of this room. He felt sad for Lisa. She was too kind and didn't deserve this. Angus took out a napkin and opened the closet door.

Fortunately, the clothes inside the closet were clean and neat as if they were brought yesterday. Angus made sure to cover everything in the room before it was locked.

It didn't take long for Angus to find something good for Alexie to wear.

Tommy used to wear very stylish clothes. Lisa only wanted the best for her child. He wore the best clothes he went to the best school. There was nothing he would want that Lisa would not get for him.

Tommy was the most precious thing in her life and she cherished him alot. No one would take Tommy's place, however, Alexie was different he enterd her heart the moment she saw him. While she knew he wasn't Tommy she was sure that she would treat him the same way.

Angus picked up a blue shirt and white shorts with suspenders. She was just hoping that it would fit Alexie. Alexie was always smaller than his age which was something else common between him and Tommy.

After picking the clothes for Alexie Angus turned around. "Alright, little one let's get you dressed, " Angus said smiling. She used to help Tommy getting dressed all the time.

Alexie however, looked down blushing hard, and shook his head. It didn't take Angus any time to understand what was happening here. She was experienced when it comes to children. When Lisa's parents died she worked as a nany for many rich families.

Dealing with many different types of kids she could tell that Alexie was very shy but she knows how to deal with shy kids. She was always far better than some impatient rich people who don't know how to deal with their kids. "Well, you don't want to make Lisa sad? Do you?"

Alexie looked down again and shook his head. The last thing he wanted was to make Lisa sad. Angus knew that and was going to use it. "Then let's get you dressed." Angus smiled seeing Alexie nodding.

"Alright, little one hands up, " Angus said with a smile. It sure felt nice to her to have another child around. For Tommy, she was more than a nanny or the head of the staff. She was more like a nice grandma.

While being strict in raising kids she was kind and loving. She always had her way with children because of her sweet character. She knew that the boy had already occupied a place in Lisa's heart.

Angus couldn't let him go as well. Just seeing how skinny the little boy is she wanted to feed him the moment she saw his state. She knew exactly what Lisa is thinking. Whoever Alexie's parents are he deserves better than them.

She knew pretty well, that Alexie is not leaving. She knew that Lisa would never send him anywhere. She knew that Lisa would keep watching over Alexie until he grows up to become a man. She just hoped nothing bad will happen to Alexie since she didn't know if Lisa would be able to handle it.

~10 minutes later~

Alexie now was dressed and the clothes were actually a perfect fit. The shoes were a bit small on him but they will have to do for now. Alexie stood in front of a mirror while Angus was combing his hair. "Now, that's how a handsome boy should look like, " Angus said making Alexie blush.

Angus took his hand and was about to leave the room when Alexie spotted something on the nightstand. He left Angus's hand and headed towards the nightstand. There was a picture in a frame. It was covered in dust and Alexie used his hand to wipe it.

As he saw the picture his eyes started to tear up. It was a picture of Lisa and the three years old Tommy. They both looked exactly like him and his mom. He remembered the last family picture he had with his mom.

With tears in his eyes, he turned and look at Angus. "Is that Tommy?" Alexie asked with tears running down from his green eyes.

Angus let out a sigh and nodded. "Yes, that was Tommy, he was three when they took that picture, " Angus replied. That little boy was tearing her heart apart and she really wanted to help.

With tears still running from his eyes, he forced a smile. "He looks like me, " Alexie said.

"Yes, he does, " Angus said walking towards Alexie. Angus pent down to face Alexie and kiss him on his forehead. "Now, out that pack, before Lisa see you crying, you don't want to make her sad right?"

Gently Angus removed the frame from Alexie's hand and put it back on the nightstand. "Let's wipe your hand first, Lisa's waiting for you, " Angus took a napkin out of her pocket wiping Alexie's hand from the dirt.

"Thank you, " Alexie said politely. Angus smiled and led him out of the room. They headed back to Lisa's bedroom where Lisa was reading a book. Once she saw Alexie a wide smile spread across her face.

"Well, aren't you just handsome, " Lisa said making Alexie blush again. She just loved how sweet Alexie is. She still can't believe that someone would hurt this little angel.

"I can see the clothes fit pretty well, thank you Angus for helping out, " Lisa said.

"He needs shoes though, this one is a bit small, " Angus said and Lisa nodded.

"We'll get everything he needs, " Lisa said putting the book on the chair and standing up. She extended her hand to Alexie who happily held it. They left the room and headed to the garage where the driver was waiting with the car ready.

Once he saw them coming he opened the door for them then he closed the door behind them. Lisa didn't have a child seat but she was planning to buy one. After talking with her lawyer Lisa felt happy.

He told Lisa that all he needed is a picture of Alexie and then everything will be ready by tomorrow. Once this is over she will charge Alexie's father with child abuse. She knew her way around. She was going to make sure that Alexie's father stays in prison for the rest of his life.

"Mommy, " Alexie said calling Lisa mommy without even realizing it. Lisa's heartbeat got faster for a moment there.

"Yes, sweetie?" Lisa said with a wide smile.

"Where are we going?" Alexie asked Lisa who just smiled at him.

"We're going to buy you some things, you need clothes, and my boy wears nothing but the best, while we're at it we can get you some toys if you would like, " Lisa answered Alexie who nodded with a smile.

"Thank you, " Alexie said politely.

"Don't thank me, sweetheart, from now on you're my boy there's no need to thank me, " Lisa said feeling happy. She started to think about finally leaving the past behind and moving on.

Here there's a little boy that needs motherly love. Judging from the way Alexie talked about his mom, she must have loved him so much, just like she loved Tommy.

Leaving aside that Alexie was making her happy. Lisa wants to show him, love, that he misses. Make him feel safe with her and make him happy. She would do anything to make Alexie happy.

Alexie kept looking through the window, which was kinda dark since it was made for him to see the outside but no one from the outside can see what's inside the car. Of course, Alexie didn't know that.

Lisa was just enjoying watching the little boy. He was special because he was her little boy. Something was always missing in her life after the death of her son, but now the gap that Tommy left was pretty much filled.

Alexie brought happier to her again and warmed her heart. The boy was able to make her love him more than anything in less than a day. Something no man was able to do.

Yet, a little child was able to do what lots of men couldn't which is opening her heart once again and melting away all the layers of ice that covered her heart for the past two years. He was special because he was loved.
