Life - Iris

While the man was at The Shack, he asked about Iris and his closest friend's whereabouts. He had to track the man down, which brings him to the worst part of this town ever.

He walks to the foreboding door, the gloominess of this side of town is clear. Children run and play on the roads, they run across roads carefree. Gangs walk by with guns evident and sly faces turning towards the agent. He's sweating, anticipation the opening of the door that was rung minutes ago, it feels like hours.

Finally the door opens, it reveals a man in his 30s. He looks like he was drinking, doing drugs, and then there's a girl that walks right next to him and leans on him. "So are you gonna tell us what you want,"the man asks patiently. The agent is surprised at his demeanor.

"Well yes, I need to talk about Iris,"he says in his shocked state. "Come on in I guess,"the man says even though he seems hesitant. The agent hasn't asked anyone about who killed Iris or Cleopatra. "Sit here,"the man says kindly. "Um..so, what can you tell me about Iris?"the agent asks politely.

"Well he was my best friend. What happened to him?"he asks patiently. "Well I can't tell you what happened but you already know he died so,"the agent says and then continues hastily, "so tell me what kind of a person he was." "He had his struggles like everyone else. More so when his dad came knocking on his door. We used to live together and then he started complaining about how irresponsible I am because I'm drinking and taking drugs instead of taking care of my daughter who needs me,"he says with a little anger and a lot of sadness laced into his already gruff voice.

"So you hated him?"the agent asks seriously. "Not to the point of killing him! No, I didn't really hate him. I just wanted to take care of my daughter but he made me realize that I wasn't helping her and I gave him custody of her. Now he's dead! Where is she?"he says and asks in a hurry. "I'll find out just tell me your name and her name,"the agent says trying to make him calm. "I'm Malik, her name is Bailey,"he says quickly.

"Anything else about him?"he asks finally. "Well he liked kids, hated abortions. That's another reason he left here, cause my girlfriend wanted one. He even stopped his friendship with his childhood friend when his sister aborted her baby recently. It's one of those other girls that died recently but anyways. I guess maybe other people just wanted her dead she deserved the death that was coming to her. She was such a bully even to older kids in our school just because her brother was popular,"he concludes in anger.

"What's her name?"the agent asks concerned. "Some Evans. No one really cared honestly,"he says quite irritated. "Uh her! I have her case as well, a Cleopatra Evans,"the agent says worried. His thoughts are rocking back and forth like a boat because she had an abortion. Abortions could only be done illegally, recently they'd been banned in all countries to make sure the rate of heaven notes are higher than the hell notes.

"Um how'd she get that done?"the agent asks curiously. "Well her boyfriend had his eyes set on her but he doesn't want kids so he would do anything to have an abortion. He'd probably even beat her to try to kill the child but this was planned since she told her siblings but not her parents. The siblings were furious but they thought she was too young to have a kid. Seriously she was like 21 when she got pregnant with that child so their was no reason for her not to keep the child,"he says rather infuriated. "Well I know it's not my place. Why're you angry if your girlfriend was going to have an abortion anyways?"he asks seriously.

"Well it wasn't my child so she could do whatever she wants, it's not my right and she left my house after the abortion cause I was angry with her. I kept a girl's child so I would never abort. I took that child when she wanted to kill it so,"he says infuriated. "Thanks for your time. I must be going since I have a funeral to attend tomorrow,"the agent says and curtly leaves.

He makes his way home, the gloomy skies left behind in the bad neighborhood and the darkening skies in the good part of town because of the suns need to shed light on others. He walks and walks. The only thoughts coming to him are the many laws that were put in place to make sure people didn't go to hell. No smoking, no drugs, no abuse, no abortions, no killing, no theft etc. Violated for no reason.

Cleopatra and Iris so different and so misunderstood. Cleopatra the angel but disguising herself as an angel of light. Iris the angel disguised by others as the devil himself. The real truth is always fun to learn but the funeral tomorrow will reveal who was really loved and tomorrow also brings the search for killers.

That's his quest for now, funeral and murderers on the loose. The agent always loved justice and never cared what price it came at, as long as it was served. He didn't want to think about the baby that was forgotten and never to be known. The baby who's personality was unknown and not cared about just because the child was unwanted by some. He believed and so do most that if you don't want a child, have it and give it away like for adoption.

So many kids never known, what would they have become. No one knows if they were going to be the one the find the crud for cancer, if they were going to find a new way to stop global warming, if they would bring peace to all. No one knows and they never will!

He thought of all this unwillingly while he walked the desolate streets of the night, to his lonely and quiet apartment. It once carried a family too, they were taken by those who hate the law, who what nothing but for their family to be in the place they want them to be. He had one, he lost one, he solved the case. He died alittle on the inside when they were lost as well but he got 2 heaven notes for them. So innocent taken too early unlike their mother.
