Prologue

In a cave deep in the forest a beautiful Luna with a dark shade of fur was licking one of her pups clean. She was the smallest of her litter. A husky Alpha ran into the cave, panting as he smiled at his Luna. She smiled back, gently tucking her pup under her paw.

"How are you feeling my love?" He asked as walked over to her and gently licked the top of her head.

She sighed happily as she booped his nose with her own, "I'm tired and happy that our pups are healthy." She looked down at the little fur balls who were sleeping peacefully in the crook of her stomach.

"This is so grand! Look at our strong and healthy pups!" The Alpha boasted proudly.

"My Love...one thing?"

"Our pups will be the ones who will lead our pack into a dawn of a new era!" He continued.

"But...Sweetheart?"

"It's all thanks to my beautiful Luna" He cooed as he licked her cheek.

She sighed as the Alpha continued. He noticed her sigh and rushed to her side.

"What wrong my love?" He asked looking worried.

The Luna looked down at her paw and gently lifted it to reveal her tiny pup.

The Alpha's face immediately shifted to disgust. "What is that!?" He barked.

She growled back, "Your daughter!"

He barked as his fur stood on end and she barked at him as she pulled her pup close to her.

"Back off!" She growled.

"That thing must be disposed of, or it will ruin our pack!" He barked.

"She's my pup!"

"Look otherwise she goes, or you do."

"You wouldn't..." She gasped as her ears flattened.

"Try me." He growled

She whimpered as his eyes darkened. Shaking her head she lowered her muzzle down to her pup and licked her, "I can't kill her."

"Then one of the guards will."

Then with that one of the Alpha's main guards came to the cave.

The Alpha nodded at the pup, "Dispose of it"

The guard nodded and advanced on the Luna. She growled as the guard lowered his muzzle and grabbed the pup by her scruff.

"Back off Serenity." The Alpha ordered.

She heeled. Before the guard could turn she barked. "Wait can I just say goodbye to her?"

The alpha sighed and nodded. Standing up slowly she moved closer and licked the run on her face. "I love you."

"Okay go." He barked. The guard gave a slight bow before turning away and charging out of the den and into the forest.

Once the guard was on neutral ground he placed the pup down and just stared at her. He sat back and watched as the pup whimpered, her little body starting to shiver. He scratched the back of his head with his paw as he sighed. "I can't do this. I can't kill a pup, especially one from our own pack." The pup raised her head, and whimpered to her mother and that made the guard feel even worse. The louder he got the more worried he was that someone was bound to hear and come to her aid. A scent of another wolf lingered close by and the guard turned on his heal and ran.

Another wolfs head peeked from the bushes. His fur a shiny silver color as he moved closer to the source of the whining. His eyes light up when he saw the little black ball of fur wiggling around in an attempt to crawl. "Well hello there little one." He sniffed but couldn't get a scent off of her pelt. She whined louder as she turned her little head to him. He gently pet her with his paw as he looked around. Not seeing anyone else, he leaned down and picked her up by her scruff.

Making his way into his territory he was greeted by the guards and the beta. "Good afternoon Master Yen." The light brown beta squinted his eyes, "What's that you got there?"

Gently setting the pup down Yen nodded at the security team, "I found her out in the wood. She doesn't have a scent on her so I honestly don't know where she came from." The pup licked Yen's paw and they all smiled, "Well she seems to like you. I will send the report to our Alpha. You heading to your den?"

Yen nodded, "I figured it would be a good surprise for my mate. She always wanted pups." He leaned back down and picked up the pup.

"Don't get too attached, we will still have to gain approval from Alpha if she can even stay."

Yen gave a slight nod as he walked through the compound. He got looks from other wolves and their pups before entering his den. There his mate lay with her eyes closed, inches away from untouched game he had brought for her to eat. He walked over and gently set the pup down by her paws. Her bright green eyes slowly opened as she smiled at Yen before looking down at the pup.

"Oh my...Yen she is beautiful."

"She might be ours once the Alpha comes to approve."

His mate hacked and coughed a little as she whined. Yen's ear flattened as he went over to his supplies and gently laid some berries by her. "Eat up love, they are medicinal."

She ate a few before laying her head down close to the pup. "Do you want to name her?"

His mate gave a slight nod as she lick the pup gently, "Amulet."
