Chapter 7

Amy was woken up by the sounds of the pack being louder than normal as the dens were being destroyed and packed up. Pups were being herded into a mini pack that will be traveling in the middle of the other adults. She went to stand, her leg feeling heavier than normal. She looked down to see a bandage and sticks that were wrapped around her leg to keep it straight. She leaned down and sniffed at the bandages and smiled as she faintly smelled his scent.

"Don't mess with the bandages pup. Its supposed to help make this migration easier." Yen stated as he walked into the cave. She nodded as she wobbled a little before finding her center of balance.

"I will make sure to thank the pack doctor a little later." Amy said.

She watched carefully as Yen flinched and nodded, "Yeah..."

That was all she needed to hear to confirm her suspicions. Yawning she gave a good stretched as Squeaker ran into the den. "Good morning mither Yen. Amy! Leth go get our thpot in the migration formation!" She giggled as she bounced happily and gently tugged Amy.

"Be careful Squeaker she is still healing!" Yen yelled as the two she wolves left the den. Once they were gone Yen took one last final look as his den, resting his paw on the wall where his mates pawprint was stamped along with Amy's puppy paw. "I will always have you in my heart my dear."

Squeaker dragged Amy to where Moon was standing. She was close to the pup parade and the little ones were too busy playing to realize what what going on. Moon herself was watching her litter as they stuck close to each other and even closer to her. Amy smiled as one of them smiled at her curiously, "Hi little one."

The pup yipped as she pointed to Amy's eye patch. "Elysia! No!" Moon scolded.

Amy shrugged, "Its okay." Amy bent down to the little pup and smiled, "I have big boo boo."

The pup nodded and gently pressed her little paw to Amy's eye patch. She then leaned forward and gave Amy's eye patch a little lick.

Squeaker gushed, "Aw thhe gave your boo boo a kith"

Amy smiled as she booped the pup before standing up straight, wobbling a little.

Moon smiled a little as she picked up one of her other pups and set it on her back. The pup climbed closer to Moon's head and rested their little paws onto the back of her head.

"Moon where ith thal?" Squeaker asked as she scanned the crowd.

"Oh they have him in the back. The stronger males are to protect the back of the pack." Moon explained.

The pack started to quiet down as the Alpha stood in front of them. "Good morning Boldclaw. Today we will be migrating to a new territory. This migration will be a little long and we will be leaving a path for anyone who may get separated due to speed or a possible attack. Our scouts have found a spot that will provide all that we need as well as have enough space to fit all of us. Its a fair distance away from where other packs have marked their new territories."

"Wait ith all packth migrating?" Squeaker asked.

Amy shrugged as the Alpha continued, "Please stay in formation: Elders and sickly wolves lead, pups and females in the middle, young males surrounding the females and pups in the middle, strong males in the back. We need to be prepared for a possible attack, if we are attacked we need the women to surround the pups for protection, the elders and sickly are to run and ahead and my young males and strong males are to protect and attack. Since this will be a long migration we will have rest stops that are marked off of the trail with out claws scratched into the tree trunk. It does not matter the time of day, we will not stop until we reach the rest stop. Every rest stop will result in a head count. Are there any questions?" The alpha paused.

The wolves looked at one another and there was slight murmuring before most of them shook their head. With a nod the alpha threw this head back and started a howl, The entire pack joined in as they howled in harmony letting the other packs know that they were on the move. Amy's ears flicked mid howl as she heard someone familiar joined in the packs howl. Once everyone had stopped she turned and her eyes met with Des'. She smiled brightly and he gave her a smirk and a wink. The alpha joined right next to Des and gave him a look that read, 'don't make me regret this.'

With a few barking commands from the elders the pack began to move.

The pack had been walking through the woods for hours. Pups were whining about their paws hurting or about getting tired and the females took turns carrying the tired pups so they could rest for a little before switching and grabbing another tired pup. Amy had one pup by her scruff sound asleep and two more on her back. They were awake just resting their paws.

Squeaker smiled, "You look tho cute with pupth Amy."

Amy blushed a little but really couldn't speak with the scruff in her mouth.

The pack slowly came to a stop. There was a collective sigh of relief as the elders announced that they have reached the first rest. Amy gently set the sleeping pup down and the mother ran over to collect her. "Thank you Amy."

The other two jumped off of her back, "Thank you Ms.Amulet."

Amy gently laid down herself with a yawn as the pack dispersed. The rest stop was a small grove with soft grass surrounded by trees with a small stream on the edge of it. Wolves took turns taking a drink from the steam and washing their faces. The pups curled up with their own litter as they drifted to sleep. The mothers of each litter curled with their pups as their mates joined them creating a security blanket around their offspring.

Amy and Squeaker curled up together, similar to when they were pups. The Alpha Matthew approached the women with Des behind him.

"Squeaker, you did a great job helping with the pups." Matt said.

Squeaker blushed and gave him a little bow, "Thankth, I am hoping that one day I can have pupth of my own. I mean...y..you know when I'm matured and I get a mate."

Amy smiled as Squeaker covered her flustered face. Des walked over to Amy and leaned down whispering in her ear, "You looked so beautiful with pups surrounding you."

The tone of his voice sent a shiver down Amy's spine. Squeaker took notice to this and she gently pushed Amy closer to Des. Their noses were touching and Amy's entire body felt hot. She turned and looked back at Squeaker only to see that Matt had taken the spot next to her. Squeaker and Amy shared a look before she went to find a spot to relax with Des.

"You know you are still irritating." Amy stated.

Des chuckled, "Yeah I know."

"So how did you..."

"Well after I beat Sal's ass, the alpha approached me on neutral ground. He offered me a spot in the pack knowing what he knows. I told him I would consider it. He told me about the migration and we came to an agreement that this would be my trial period for me to see if i want to be in the pack and for him to see if I am even a good fit." Des yawned.

Amy smiled, "Well what does he know?"

Des smirked back, "The same thing that you know but you are fighting."

"Why would you think I'm fighting it?"

"Well usually the female would have melted into her mates arms however, you are doing your best to keep distance between us. I notice that your shiver when I do certain things, like when I lick your cheek or..." He scooted over closer, "Whisper in your ear."

She bit her tongue to avoid shivering.

Des chuckled as he gently flicked his tongue against her ear and Amy sighed as she leaned into him.

"Ahhem."

Amy jumped back and Des looked up at Yen with a smirk. "Hello Mr. Yen."

"Well at least you have manners. Young man, I strongly suggest maintaining composure as this is not the time and place. Amy..." Yen growled turning his head to his daughter.

Amy was a pretty shade or red despite the fact that her fur was pitch black.

"If I were you..." Yen's frown fell to a somber look, "I would invest in consuming some Queen Anne's Lace. I'm not ready to be a grandfather yet."

Amy stood up and gave her dad a hug, "You have nothing to worry about dad. Nothing will happen anytime soon." She enunciated "Will"

Des stood up and as he did Amy's right eye began to throb under her eye patch. Her paws flew to her eye patch as she whimpered.

"What wrong?"Des asked looking worried.

"My eye...My eye..." She lifted her eye patch and both Yen and Des gasped. They would see the crescent moon mark visibly twitching. With every twitch little clear branches extended out from the original lines. Yen ran to fetch the pack doctor, Des gently nuzzled her as she whined and opened her right eye.
