I didn't have time to waste. I had to find my parents, and fast! They were in grave danger. I rushed upstairs and put on some clothes and ran to the first place that popped up in my mind.
MR. GLUSHY’S SLUSHIES! I arrived there just before Mr. Glushy attended to his first customer. “Mr. Glushy! I need your help, my parents have gone missing!” “What in the world child! We need to involve the police!” I grabbed him before he could finish running for the door. “No! The last thing I would want is for the whole press to know about this.” “i just need your help, we need to look everywhere!” he nodded in agreement and we were off. He even closed the slushy bar for the day just to help me!
Before I knew it, daylight was no more and we had looked everywhere! I felt beaten up and I hated myself for it. “Maybe we should continue the search tomorrow Marissa.” Mr. Glushy suggested. “Yeah.” “I'll head on home now.” I walked with my head hung down. I felt horrible.
I walked until I bumped into something. I looked up while rubbing my head. The prettiest eyes met mine. Ocean blue and I could sink in them. His smile could light up a room. His eyes shimmered in the moonlight. “Marissa? What are you doing out here?” it was Jack. We'd known each other since elementary school. He must have seen the tears that were welled up in my eyes. “A-are you ok?” “yea- actually no!” I burst out in tears. “Marissa, it's ok,” he said while embracing me in the best hug. I sobbed for a while in his arms until I got a hold of myself. “ My parents have gone missing.” “oh my gosh! I’m so sorry Marissa!” and it was back to the embracing and sobbing again. “You know you can always trust me. I'll always be here for you.” his eyes met mine. He looked at me and in every glance deciphering every inch of me. He clutched my hands. Then looked back at me. I closed my eyes and our lips met. A current went through my body. I looked at him. Our lips meeting once more. I felt much better. Like my burdens cast for a moment.
I chuckled while tucking my hair behind my ear. I felt so much better. I guess all I needed was to let it all out. “Kay I'll be going then, Carmichael must be so worried.” “wait!” I said. “your butler Carmichael?” “Yeah, my parents are out of town till October.” “oh, well, would you like to spend the night at my house?” I said , gushing. “i’m kinda terrified of sleeping by myself in a huge house.” I said , chuckling.
“Why not?” he said with a big bright smile (RISSA! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!) “okay then!” we arrived at my house soon. Good thing I had gotten the slushy bar employees to clean up. “Wow nice place you got here.” “Thanks.” I said shyly. I made us dinner and it was 22:00. We decided to watch a movie. I Got us root beers and a blanket. I could barely concentrate on the movie, instead, I was staring at Jack. He glanced at me and I quickly looked at the TV.
