All is well while she sleeps, but when she wakes, her mind is in a frenzy. "Why, why am I here." The dark solid wood surrounding her, the chaise lounge she's sprawled on, the musket hung on the wall like a decoration, and the lit fireplace with a bubbling cauldron in it all tell her she's in her brother's cottage.
She stands, enraged beyond compare. Yet the second she's standing is the second she's falling. The familiar pounding in her head would be a blessing in this moment of stabbing pain she feels. It makes her eyes water, and her breath catch in her throat. She falls back onto the seat and lays back, resting her head on the backbone of the chaise lounge and taking in deep breaths. Venus closes her eyes and goes over what she can remember to calm her mind. "I had that man tell me I need to keep punctual. I went to a physician. Then when I arrived home I went to bed."
"A physician?" Venus startles awake to see Zaire standing behind her. "You weren't supposed to hear that."
