Episode 3

Boyfriend troubles

Scarlett

My heart began to beat so fast that I thought I was going to have a cardiac arrest. Why was he calling me, what was he going to do. Oh am so getting fired.

"What are you thinking about instead of being in the bosses office. That's the third person who has come to call you. And from what I've heard, you really don't want to get him angry, waiting does, and that side is not a pleasurable sight" Simon my other best friend whom I called bestie said to me bringing me out of me thinking.

"Oh, nothing. Am going now , I hope I come out still having a job. Oh am so getting fired today" I said as I stood up to leave.

"Why, what does that mean. Scar" Simon shouted but I couldn't wait to answer him, the CEO was calling.

"I'll explain later" I shouted back and sprinted to the CEO's office with one prayer in my mind.

Lord I can't lose my job. Not today, not without a one month notice at least

As I entered into his office, everywhere was so quiet and I could feel this serious tension in the air and everywhere became so hot like I was not seeing well when I entered and saw the AC on.

I stood there for about 5 minutes after his secretary announced me, who was hot by the way.

But he didn't notice me, I knew I wasn't supposed to do this but I hated waiting.

"Um, Sir I don't know if you realize but you called me and have been here for the past 5 minutes and you haven't said anything" I said stupidly but he said nothing.

"Sir, if you...." I said and then he suddenly stood up and all I could see in his eyes was anger, his eyes looked blood shot.

He slammed his desk and then looked back at me.

"I believe you dropped this" he said then threw something at me. When I caught it, I realized that it was my ID. It must have fallen when we were outside.

That's how he knew my name.

He stepped out from behind his desk and leaned backwards on his desk then folded his arms on his chest.

"Apologize" he said

"For what?" I asked

"I don't know. For being dump" he replied and this made me mad.

"What did you call me. Dump, I highly doubt that" I said stopping myself from saying the other things I had in mind.

At this he walked up to me and he was barely a feet apart from me. I could feel his cool breathe coming in my direction and his stares were deadly. The red in them covered the whole of his eyes that they looked like the real colour of his eyes. And as he stared at me I looked away but he turned my face to face his. As I turned, our eyes met and out of nowhere my hiccups broke the silence.

Hiccups saves the day.

"Why do you doubt that?" he asked brining back our discussion as I tried to bring myself to stop the hiccups so I could speak.

"B-be-cause only a dump per-son knows another dump person" I said regretting the moment I said it.

Stupid mouth!

He looked at me for some seconds before speaking again

"Get out" he said in a cold voice and I wasted no time in doing so.

"Scarlett get out of bed it's been two days already, you need to go back to work" Naomi said as she lifted the curtains and I felt that warm ray of sunshine on my cold face, just the breeze I wanted, not the trouble I wanted.

"I am not going to work so that someone can fire me" I said firmly

"Did he say he was going to fire you?"

Well after the way he talked and I talked back to him, I don't think he will still want me.

"Not really, maybe, eventually. Look the bottom line is he is not ready to stop being rude and am not ready to get into more fights with my boss" I said firmly again and this time it sounded convincing.

As I laid back on my bed while Naomi was still staring at me, I received a text from Simon. When I opened the text it read,

The boss wants you to come back to work, he is insisting.

Scarlett Pierce. That name just kept ringing in my head. She had been absent for two days, after giving me some serious embarrassment she thought she could just quit. Besides my secretary already informed me of the people I could not do without in the company because they knew the company at the back of their hands and were very efficient. Scarlett just happened to be among them but even though I was going to fire her it was going to be when I was done with my revenge that's why I called her back 2 weeks ago.

I wanted to take a walk, to clear my head and relief myself of some stress. As I got out of my office, walking towards the elevators, I saw Scarlett looking at her phone and blushing like hell.

I had never even seen her smile.

So I walked up to her and stood behind her only to see the picture of a certain ugly guy zoomed and she looked like she was about to enter the phone. He then sent her a text.

Hey just got back. Let's meet at the coffee shop. We need to talk.

It was definitely for a break up. "Firstly, am not surprised that you have a boyfriend because he is not just up to standards, something you like. And secondly, don't go, it's a breakup" I said.

She turned around and looked at me with a frown then rolled her eyes and continued to drool. I just turned around and left.

Suit yourself, see you after your heart break.

After work, I decided to go have drinks on my own after my buddy, Christian Moore bailed on me. After a few bottles, not enough to get drunk, I walked myself out of the club. As I passed the entrance, I could swear that I saw a familiar face, so just to be sure I took a few steps backwards only to find out that it was her.

"Hey Pierce, get up. What are you doing here?" I asked

She looked up, then sighed. "Oh, it's you. What so we broke up, did you come to rub an 'I told you so' in my face?"

Yes, I did tell you so. But that wasn't important, like the rest of the crappy store she was telling me.

"He said I wasn't pretty enough, that I wasn't good enough. He told me that I was like a robot, no emotions and even the little I had were still not enough. He said I didn't know how to love and even though I did I couldn't love, the way it was needed, like a woman. Am not just girlfriend material and he needs space." she cried

At first I didn't know what to do but later it came to me. Now I have a 3 step revenge plan for ladies. 1: Be the rude jerk. But that didn't work on her so I moved to 2: Be bossy. But this only seemed to bring out the feistiness in her for the past 2 weeks, so it was time for step 3: Fall and Dump. I was going to make her fall for me then dump her and this could just work now that she is heartbroken and venerable. Smart man.

I first smiled before I began to speak.

"It might not be what you want to hear. But if you want, I can teach you how to love like that" I said "think about it" I added then left.
