Remy

Vale parked her car on the side of the road. She can hear the loud music reverberating from Remy’s house.

Grabbing her phone and her bag, she walked out of her car before locking it.

Vale walked to the door and step into the house and looked around for Nancy’s face.

There are too many people inside this house, making it harder for her to find Nancy.

“Hey, Vale!”

Vale turned around and saw Remy walking towards her with a grin on his face.

She furrowed her eyebrows.

Why does it look like he hasn’t drink anything?

“Hey, it’s been a while!” she smiled at him.

Remy and Vale met in high school. She wasn't sure if he is in a gang, but the important thing is that he doesn’t know what she does.

“Yeah, it’s nice to see you again.” he chuckles nervously.

Wait, nervous?

“You haven’t drink. Why?” Vale raised her eyebrows at him. She mentally cursed her dumb brain.

“I’m a host, babe. Gotta sober to watch over my guest.” he grinned.

Vale chuckle and shakes her head at him, acting like an excellent host. When he was actually a wolf, hunting his prey on his party.

“So, I’m wondering if you had seen Nancy?”

“Yeah, she’s in the kitchen. Come on. I’ll show you.” Remy offered.

“Na-uh. I’ll go. Watch over your guest,” Vale wave him off and march towards the kitchen.

What was that?

He looks...disappointed?

That’s weird.

Vale had been here before. So, she did know where the kitchen is.

She was about to step into the kitchen when she caught someone familiar—a light-blonde hair man on the dancing floor.

Vale's heart elevates fast when she saw him. Her chest tightens, and her heart, throbs in agony.

The man swirls the woman, and Vale's hands fly to her mouth when Kayden kissed her.

She whimper.

No, no, No!

She can’t-won’t-cry over him.

Was it jealousy?

Anger?

Betrayal?

It made her heart hurt so damn much.

A hand tapped Vale's shoulder, making her jump in shock.

She relaxed when she turned around and saw Nancy along with Brian.

What Vale's know about Brian from Nancy is that he doesn’t work in a gang. But they couldn’t be too sure.

Nancy knows not to expose herself as a member of a criminal organization publicly. Even if the police are under their control, the enemy is everywhere, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Vale smiled at them, strenuously.

She hoped that they didn’t notice it even when it looks like they are both drunk.

She can’t do this to her friends.

“So, what are you both?”

Vale grinned mischievously at them, pushing away her own emotions.

Nancy rolled her eyes as Brian chuckled and hugged Nancy from behind. Vale snicker when Nancy’s giggle fills the air.

“I see. You didn’t need me at all.” Vale teased Nancy.

“Geez. Brian has to drive his friend home. I’m going with you.”

“Really? How can you drive a car when you’re super drunk?” Vale raised her eyebrows at Brian.

“Ouch! Vale, you underestimated me.” he put his hand on his chest dramatically.

Vale rolled her eyes at him.

“Better hurry, Nane. I’ll wait for you at the bar.” she smiled at them.

Nancy nodded as Vale walked away from them.

Don’t look back. Come on, walk. Breathe.

Vale smiled at Ben who was drinking with a girl on his lap at the drink section.

Sitting on a barstool beside them, Vale took a drink for herself.

Ben is another person like Brian.

“So, who’s this?” Vale motioned towards the girl.

“My girlfriend,” he stated.

He pecked the girl on her lips, making her blush.

“Aww! Nice to meet you...” Vale trailed off, not knowing her name.

“Isabella Mckelstone.” she smiled at Vale.

“Nice to meet you, Isabella. I’m Valentina Rodriguez.” she smiled back.

“Yeah, me too.“ she nodded.

Vale gulped down her drink.

“We are gonna get a dance. Want to join us?”Isabella said, standing up with Ben.

“Nah, I’m fine here.” she shakes her head.

“Okay, then, see you soon!” they both said.

“See ya!” Vale waved.

They walk away as she took her phone out and saw five messages.

Vale lowered her head. So, no one will recognize her.

Don’t want any unneeded attention, do we?

She opened her messages, and surprisingly, it was all from the guys.

Caleb: Hey, babe... Are you okay?

Pfft... Babe? He wanted a beating, doesn't he?

Jake: Hey, Hot Chick! You better come back... Safely.

Vale laughed at this.

Dylan: Hey, Vale. Don’t make us worry, text me. I won’t tell anyone.

Vale grin. Dylan is the best.

Brett: I miss you already, baby girl. Come back, please? He’s scary. I can’t take his beating anymore, please.

Really? Poor Brett.

Keith: Princess, where are you? I’m genuinely sorry. Come back, and I’ll explain, please? They’re gonna kill me if you didn’t come back. Baby, please.

Vale rolled her eyes at this.

Ew! Why did he suddenly call her, baby?

...and what’s with the...please?

He never begs for something-not work related-like this.

Oh! She forgot.

He never begs.

Vale texted Dylan, her partner in crime on making the others suffer.

To: Dylan

Me: Hey, I’m fine. Don’t know when I’ll go back, though. I need time. Bye.

Vale closed her phone and sigh.

5 minutes.

10 minutes.

Vale groaned.

Damn it! Are they banging each other now?

She gulped the 10th drink and got up.

Urgh! Vale never liked to live in this spinning world.

She walked around the crowd, searching for Nancy. She was about to walk again when a pair of arms embraced her from behind.

The smell of his cologne was enough to tell her who is the culprit. Her breath hitched as she tried to calm her breathing down.

“I miss you. Where had you been? Why didn’t you answer my call?” he breathed the words on her ear.

“I..uh..had works to do.” Vale struggled to control her voice tone.

Maybe, she should act as nothing ever happened.

Vale inhale deeply before turning around. She looked at Kayden’s eyes with a blank expression and a forced smile.

She waited and waited. She felt nothing.

She felt the pain tugging on her heart, but her tears weren’t coming out.

She put her hand on his neck as they silently dance on the music. Vale couldn’t look at his face that shows no guilt anymore, so she look away from him.

He lifted her chin, making her look back at him. He leaned in, but Vale turned her cheeks on him.

His lips landed on her cheek, and Vale's heart throbbed in pain.

Bastard!

He knows he had a new girlfriend and now he’s trying to kiss his ex-girlfriend? Two-timing son of a bitch!

Vale's blood boiled.

Remy must’ve known about him cheating on her.

Brian, Ben, even Nancy must have known about this.

Great.

Who else has known about this?

Is she the only one who didn't know about it?

Fuck them all.

A sudden urge to confront them make her pulse quicken.

Vale pushed Kayden away from her. Harshly.

He looks at her with a confused gaze.

Vale gritted her teeth, annoyed with his acting game. She clenched and unclenched her fist, trying to control her temper.

He was about to speak when Nancy’s face came into Vale's view.

“I gotta go.”

Vale glared at him with pure hatred and anger before she walked towards Nancy.
