Madilyn has always lived with her mom since her father left her at a young age and had a new family for himself. She loves her father but can't stand his new family so she never seems him.
 But the summer is Madilyn's favorite time of the year because she gets to go see her grandparents on the reservation in La Push, Washington . She is full Native American but from two different tribes, her mother is from the Quileute tribe and her father is from the Navajo Tribe.

I was the first one to wake up. Jake was still asleep but he was laying in between my legs and the top half of his body was on my stomach. His arms were wrapped around my waist. I didn't move so o didn't wake him up, so I just laid there waiting for him to wake up.


He phone rang and Jake woke up. He looked up at me all sleepy. I giggled cause he looked so cute.


Jake got up and got the phone. I waited patiently for him to come back.


"Hey my dad needs my help at the store." Jake said.


"Ok, I'm going to go to Sam and Emily's for a little while anyway." I said getting up walking to the bathroom.


He hugged me and said goodbye. I went to the bathroom to shower, I got out and changed into a sports bra and sweats. I walked out of the house and ran to Emily's. I got there in about 3 minutes.


I walked in and saw Billy at the table talking with the guys.


"I thought you were at the store." I said walking up to Billy.


"No I've been here since I left the house." He said simply


"Oh ok." I said dropping the conversation.


I was so upset with Jake why would he lie to me. He could have told me the truth I wouldn't have cared where he was going. He was probably going to Yolanda's but I all I wanted was the truth.


I walked out because I was so angry with Jake for lying to me.


" Paul go back inside I don't want to take my anger out on you." I said trying not to be rude.


I was shaking I couldn't see straight. I walked into the woods a little bit and started screaming from anger.


I was shaking and then I felt my body become got like my temp was in the 100s.


I looked down to see my hands replaced with huge black paws.


Paul walked in the forest and stared at me in awe like I was the biggest thing he has ever seen.


"Hey Mads is that you?" He was walking slowly up to me.


"It's ok I'm right here don't worry." Paul said bending down to pet me.


He sat down and I put my head in his lap. Paul was petting me trying to make sure I was ok.


Paul then called out to the pack. They walked out and looked at me just like Paul had looked.


"Guys it's Maddie." Paul said looking at them.


Then Sam shifted in this big black wolf.


"Hey Mads, you ok?" He asked through his thoughts.


"Yeah but what's happening?" I thought back.


"Hold on." He said shifted back he pulled back on his shorts.


"Emily can you go get her some clothes?" He asked looking at Emily.


She didn't answer she just went back to the house and came back a minute later with some clothes and a towel.


She laid the towel on me first before walking back to Sam's side.


"Ok now Maddie calm your thoughts and think of being human again." Paul said softly.


I did such as that and then I was back to my human form. Paul made sure the towel was covering me completely. He handed me the clothes and I went behind a tree to change. I came out from behind the tree and hugged Paul.
