While Walter escorted the man outside, Juliet decided to check on the woman he had been bothering who appeared visible shaken and uncomfortable by the event. Most of the other people in the other area had either gone back to what they were doing or stood around gossiping about what had happened. None of them took to the time to make sure that she was okay.
She was sure that Walter would probably come back and ask if she was okay once he was done, but Juliet felt that she might be more comfortable if it was another woman who approached her first.
"Hey alright? Sorry if I am being rude, I saw what happened and wanted to make sure that you're alright." The woman still seemed to be in shock because it took her a second to process that fact that someone was talking to her before she quickly turned her head to look at Juliet. By the look on her face it seemed as though she was trying asses whether this new person standing in front of her was someone to be worried about or not.
"I'm fine.. Thank you." The other woman finally replied, offering a weak smile. "I'm not used to having that type of thing happening. It just caught me off guard a bit." The woman explained, her voice was rather low so Juliet had to strain her ears to hear what she was saying over the sound of the music.
"My name's Juliet." Juliet told the woman, offering her another kind smile to try and help her relax.
"Valentina." The woman replied as she dipped her head slightly. It was evident she was uncomfortable over what happened.
"I'm not sure if you're planning on staying or leaving, but if you need to wait on a ride to get here, my friend and I have been sitting right over there. If you'd like, you can stay with us until then." Juliet pointed to where Maria was still seated, once her friend noticed she was pointing at her however, she waved her hand high to let her know she had seen it.
Valentina looked over in that direction and appeared to be a bit apprehensive over whether she wanted to or not. "It would be alright?" she clarified as she watched the other woman who seemed much more effusive than her friend.
"Absolutely. I wouldn't feel right leaving someone to themselves after something like that, even if the problem is gone." Juliet assured the woman as she carefully herded her through the crowd over to where Maria was sitting.
"Do you need home or anything?" Maria asked once Juliet had Valentina had reached the table and they had gotten the other sitting down.
"I do.. I usually bring my car into work, but today was my day off and I had friend drop me off on their way to work because I forgot my purse in the locker room. I had originally intended to wait here until they were off because it would only be a bit longer, but then that happened." Valentina explained as she glanced back over in the direction that they had just come from.
"Would you like me to give you a ride back?" Maria offered. Her and Juliet had come together, but she was sure her friend wouldn't mind leaving early for this type of thing. Valentina was quick to shake her head.
"It's okay, I don't want to take you away from your fun. Walter I am sure won't have a problem taking me home. To be honest, I would be feel a bit more comfortable with someone I know well dropping me off after this. No offense."
"None taken. I totally understand." Juliet replied, shaking her head to let the other know she wasn't upset. "You mentioned you work here?" she followed up on that question.
"Yes, I usually serve drinks and do other odd jobs or work back in the VIP area some nights of the week. I'm sure you can tell from what you see it isn't a bad job working here if you don't mind having an open mind to a lot of things." She replied, fidgeting with her phone case as she spoke. "I was given the day off though because I have been working more hours than usual due to needing more money. I was told I was doing too much so I should take the day off with pay."
"Shouldn't you let Daniel know what happened? I couldn't imagine wanting to come into work after something like that." Maria asked. A lot of people found her genuine concern and nature to be comforting in a lot of situations. It was part of the reason she made a good librarian, her compassion and call nature allowed her to help many stressed individuals college or other individuals who were on a tight deadline and need resources yesterday to finish what they were doing.
"I'll be fine come tomorrow. It's not likely that man will be allowed back in the club after what happened. Walter will probably have to report it anyways since it caused a commotion." Valentina explained. As she finished speaking, Juliet noticed that Walter was walking in their direction. Most likely to check on Valentina.
"Are you alright? Were you hurt at all? It looked like he had a pretty tight grip on your wrist before I came over?" Walter asked as he looked Valentina over. It was evident he was concerned about the small woman, but his concern came out in a rather gruff manner. Valentina didn't seem to mind this however.
"I'm fine, he didn't hurt me at all. I was mostly just surprised. But, I was going to ask if you could give me a ride back to my apartment? My ride isn't supposed to get off work for a while yet and I would much prefer to be back home now after that." Walter nodded his head in response to the request.
"No problem, I need to let Daniel knowing ahead of time and request that someone fill my spot while I am gone. It'll only take a few minutes." Walter replied. Before he left, he offered a nod of his head to Juliet which she could only presume was meant to be a 'thank you'. She wasn't exactly sure, but she returned the gesture anyways.
While waiting for Walter to come back, Maria and Juliet spent the time trying to talk with Valentina and get her to take her mind off of what had just happened. Juliet even requested a shot of something hard for her to help steady her after the shock. Although she still seemed nervous, she was definitely was better than she had been at when Juliet originally brought her over.
When Walter returned to take her home, Valentina thanked the other two women and bid them a goodnight before leaving.
Once she had left, Juliet and Maria shot each other a look. Everything that had just happened kind of ruined the night in terms of having fun at the club.
