It was later than Richard had been expecting by the time that he got home. He knew he had been spending quite some time planning out everything that he wanted to do with this job that Daniel was giving him, but he didn't realize that he had gotten so wrapped up in what he was doing that he had lost more track of time than he thought he had.
Teaching, young or generally headstrong dominants the right protocol to interact and treat submissives and also how to interact professionally with one another took a lot of work to plan out. There was almost always that one person who thought they knew better and knew everything that they needed and didn't need to learn from anyone else. Those were going to be the ones that he would have a hard time with if they didn't come around to listening to him when he was teaching them.
Even though Daniel had interviewed them all himself and made sure that they seemed like would be a good fit based upon the interview and their profiles, it didn't always match up in practice. Richard wouldn't have any problem kicking anyone out or banning them if there ended up being any problem during the six weeks that he would be in charge of them.
He wasn't going to let anyone ruining the club reputation knowing how important it was to Daniel nor would he allow anyone to make the staff who worked there uncomfortable. It would be pointless if to try and go about adding this element to the club if he couldn't make it work properly and get together the right group of people to keep it entertaining yet professional.
He checked through his phone one last time before he muted it for the night. He had messaged Valentina on his way home to see if she was still awake and doing okay after what had happened at the club. Since she hadn't messaged back however, he presumed that she must've already been asleep.
Out of all the girls that worked at the club, he had been what others would've classified as closest to her. Both in a relationship and companion sense. She had been one of the few to join the club fairly early on when everything was still being worked out and didn't mind the inconsistent times, difficult customers or picking up extra work when someone quit or called in sick or busy with something else.
He knew that it was because she had always been in need of money for reasons that she never really wanted to disclose, blowing it off on family issues and other normal things that would lead to a girl of her age looking for any decent paying job that would pick her up even if it meant late nights.
Her and Richard had spent more than a handful of nights at the club together, but often times they would also just chat when he stopped by and was waiting to talk with Daniel about something or other. The conversations were never that long as she was fairly popular at the club with her small size and black hair. Richard enjoyed it though because she had never invaded his space in hopes of creating a deeper relationship with him beyond what they had established at the club and he appreciated that.
Tonight though, he didn't need to be worrying about that since it was unlikely that he would be hearing from her until later tomorrow. Instead, he needed to focus on showering and getting sleep so that he could be prepared for his morning job the next day. Calculating numbers while being tired or unfocused would just be asking for a disaster to happen.
He slightly lamented that he hadn't gotten home slightly earlier to enjoy a bath before he slept, his body was sore from being up for too many hours already and his mind was still bothered by the fact that Daniel hadn't been able to come up for answer as to who might've been targeting him.
The risk of anything happening would be diminished if he avoided drinking anything from the club that he didn't watch get prepared himself or wasn't brought up by service, but that took away part of the perks of being at the club. A perk he had rather come to enjoy when he spent the night there with a partner and didn't want to bother with drinking out in the main area of the club.
He had pondered for a second if it was something that he should tell Juliet about since she was already looking into an issue with the club, however he wasn't certain that the two were connected and it might require him to tell her more than he wanted to if she needed to know why someone might've been targeting him specifically.
Richard instead determined that if they were connected, the threads would eventually crossover and if necessary, it would be dealt with when it happened. Otherwise for now, he would just let Daniel deal with it the best way that he could and be more cautious about what he chose to do moving forward.
Juliet would then be free to investigate whatever she was looking for while working at the club, if of course everything worked out between them and they were able to at least connect to get the job done that he had hired her to do.
He made sure to put the cigarettes in the kitchen where he knew he wouldn't be tempted to grab them from for a smoke before he went to sleep. If he did it would just end up making it harder for him to fall asleep and ruin his mood in the morning.
Thus, even though he felt inclined to smoke to decrease some of the stress he was feeling, he thought better of it and left them there and went up to go and take his shower.
Tomorrow morning was his day job focus and once that was over, he could go back to worrying about what was going to be happening at night once everything was finally in order. Doing two job wasn't it easy, but one thing at a time.
Plus if he managed to stay working ahead before the weekend, there would be less for him to worry about once it was time for him and Juliet to run through everything that he was planning. He presumed at least that she wouldn't have anything taking over her weekend since that was when he told her that this job would be likely to start. He'd text her the next day to make sure that she understood that clearly.
