Help

Third person POV

What they saw surprised and scared them both. Guns pointed right at their faces, ready to pull the trigger. Jude stepped in front of Everest in an attempt to shield him. "Hands up and drop everything you have!" One of the soldiers screamed.

Everest took the backpack off and dropped it on the floor, along with his bow and arrows. They both raised their hands once they were done. Two guards turned them around so they were facing the door and put them on their knees.

They put their hands behind their backs as they were being cuffed. The soldiers made both of them stand up and turned them back around. They started leading them down a hallway of doors. It was big and long.

They stopped in front of large double doors. The soldiers pushed it open and they were met with a huge throne like room but, without the throne. There was was a round table in the middle of the room with people sitting around it.

The people around the table looked up with surprise on their face. "We found them breaching the compound" the soldiers spoke. One of the men from the table stood up and made his way over to them.

He stopped in front of them and scanned their faces. "We need your help" Everest spoke first. The guy turned to him, with curiosity in his eyes. "What with" he asked. "He comes from another dimension" Everest says gesturing to Jude.

The guy turned to Jude looking him up and down. "I'm well aware" he spoke. Everest eyes widened in surprise while Jude's face stayed the same. "Well that's good, his kingdom is in trouble and he needs help" Everest pleaded.

"What kind of help" he asked. "I need your soldiers, or more frankly your power" Jude spoke up. The hummed, turned around and walked back to the round table. "Let us discuss" he said and they started whispering.

The conversation went on for about twenty minutes before the same guy got up again. He walked over to the two again and smiled. "We'll help you" he said. Everest smiled and went to go thank him but was soon interrupted. "On one condition" the guy said.

Everest furrowed his eyebrows "what" he asked. "Are you planning on going their yourself with him" the man asked. Everest nodded "yes" he said. The guy nodded before speaking again "you must stay their and never return" he said nonchalantly.

"What!" Everest yelled. He couldn't believe what he just heard. He wasn't supposed to stay there. He was supposed to help Jude then go back to his regular life. He was supposed to be become a forest carrier, now your telling him he supposed to stay there forever.

Jude scrunched up his face as he looked at the guy. He didn't like it as much as Everest. Obviously he wanted to save his kingdom, but not at the expense of someone's happiness. "Why" Jude asked grinding his teeth together.

"He stepped into a space he want supposed to, so this is his punishment" the guy spoke again. Everest balled up his fist, getting angrier by the second. He would've lashed out if it wasn't for Jude's next words.

"You don't have to" Jude spoke softly. Everest eyes widened as he turned his head to look at the older male. Jude had a small smile on his face and tender kind eyes. "You don't have to do this for me, you can go back to living your life, and becoming a forest carrier like you dreamed of" he continued.

Everest eyes glossed over has he listened to Jude speak. "Don't throw away your life for someone you barely know" he ended. Jude drew a shaky breath as he tried to hold in his tears. He looked back at the guy and cleared his throat.

"I'll do it"
